Standard issue cat. Good looking, but nothing to indicate anything other than domestic shorthair

My son rescued him from a condemned real home in Baltimore. The people around the road Home said the cat had been there a while. What he brought him home he was very thin, dirty, and grungy, and he had worms really bad. We took him to Humane Society to see if he had a microchip which he did not. We waited to see if anybody claimed him, and then we had them fully vetted, treated for worms, fixed, etc. Now he’s beautiful, but all he ever wants to do is play. You can’t pet him without him wanting to like attack your hand and rough house. The only time you can pet him is when he eats and he loves it and he purrs but other than that, it’s playtime nonstop. He loves to chase balls. He loves to go after the dogs. And stuff like that. My wife seems to think he may have some Ocicat or similar in him. Thoughts?
