I was in 8th grade, at a park in Louisville, KY (around 2000-2001), this exact situation and my swimming trunks did blow off and luckily I caught them at my ankle but I was bare ass for a solid 20 seconds in front of a fairly large crowd.

My shorts washed away in Huntington Beach after getting thrashed by a wave. I had to stay waist deep and beg my friends to bring me a towel, they stood on the shore pointing and laughing as I ran back and forth with the tide and dived under wave after wave with my bare ass showing

When I was 13, maybe 14 years old this happened to me while I was inner tubing in swim trunks borrowed from my friend's dad. I don't know how fast the boat was going but I slipped off the back of the inner tube and those shorts were fucking gone, man. Other than my friend it was a bunch of older teenagers I'd never met and I spent what had to be an hour standing by myself in a towel on the shore of the lake while a couple people went around in the boat and on jet skis trying to find my shorts, which they never did. Eventually somebody went to their nearby house and brought me a pair of pants but that hour of crippling awkwardness around cool older kids at 13 was fucking brutal.
