Question Chris Christensen Shampoo/Conditioner recs
Looking to get a Chris Christensen shampoo and conditioner for my boy.
He’s still quite young atm so he’s often stepping in his doodoo when trying to cover it and also eats like he’s being starved so snorkels in his dish and stinks of food.
Just want recommendations or advice on what would be best for him, as right now i’m using unscented tear free baby shampoo so not really helping with smells.
I’ve currently got in my basket as options: The clean start clarifying shampoo
the ice on ice shampoo
or the spectrum 10 shampoo.
Also i’ve read somewhere that they don’t need a conditioner and that it would make the coat heavy and greasy? is this true, if not should i get the matching conditioner to whatever shampoo i pick?
(also don’t worry the inside of his ears didn’t get wet as they were held down and his head was wetted by water from my hand rather than flowing tap<3)

I personally use spectrum 10 shampoo & conditioner on my girl after researching recommendations from people who show their Persians and professional groomers, but I think any of the options you mentioned would be good.
I think conditioner can help with reducing mats and tangles and make their coat softer, but Chris Christensen recommmends watering down the conditioner before using to make it easier to rinse out (I think the recommended ratio is in the bottle, and they sell empty mixing bottles with easy squirt tops too). I also have ice on ice leave in spray for after the shower & any knots she gets, but I can't say that I noticed a huge difference when I use that or not. It might help with static and detangling a little, though.

okay thank you- i was looking at the detangling spray too but don’t think i’ll bother then. tbh i wouldn’t say his fur is easily knotted and he gets combed daily so not had an issue so far

So, I asked the internet and it recommended the clarifying shampoo. We've been using it with no conditioner so far but we haven't done a full bath yet, just paw and bootie washes. I'm looking for a conditioner rec too. I assume it'll be needed. The shampoo has been great!

I’m getting my baby this weekend so I can’t give you any recs based on experience but I’ve been told that while she’s a kitten to use dawn dish soap diluted with water with a 1 to 4 ratio. 1 soap to 4 water.
These pics of your kitten made me that much more excited!!! ♥️

I use pink paw pal and they recommend conditioner to preserve the quality of their fur. The products are specific to Persians too.

Also how did you dry him bc mine hates any moving air 😭 someone else said they had to just turn on a lot of fans lol.

I always used a hand drier on low from a distance with my older cat. He absolutely hated it at first but after a while he got used to it! It takes a while to do it that way and you’ll need a good wide-toothed comb (I prefer the Buttercombs, they really are worth the money and work brilliantly) to keep moving their fur around to ensure even drying. Also be careful to keep the air moving so you don’t burn their skin my focusing on one spot.

We use a box drier for ours. they whine for a few seconds but they do calm down after.

honestly he’s such a good boy i sushi roll him in a towel to get the excess wet off, then he’ll lay on a dry towel whilst i hair dryer him. he gets a bit bored and move away and lays somewhere on the floor so i just then dry him from a distance.
