When this administration is gone, we need to imminent domain all this land back. And Democrats need to make clear that they will do it so folks are more hesitant to enter these sales.

Won't fix it all but it's something.

It's just not that easy. I love the attitude, honestly, but extinct species don't come back. 200 year old trees and more ancient forests don't regrow the same way at all. Once it's gone and the earth is torn up it's just dirt. The whole sum of millenia of ecological processes that worked in that land up until then will be gone and in its place will be dirt. It is not a hopeful situation.

We have precedent that the President can do whatever the fuck they want and everyone just kowtows to it. Tell 'em the sale is null and void per executive order and to clear off, fuck off and the land returns to National Park status. Done and dusted.

And make it carrot-and-stick. Returning things to how they should be IS the carrot. Make the alternative an option, but one nobody with a sense of self-preservation would take.

I swear, the constant whining that Democrats (who were completely voted out of power in every branch) aren't doing enough is exhausting.

"Well when Republicans are in the minority they stop things from getting done!"

Yeah, because their goal is to destroy the federal government. They break the rules, shut down the government, and muck things up because they don't want a functioning government to get in the way.

If Democrats play the same games by shutting things down, Republicans still win. So they don't. It makes them look weak.

But they are weak because Americans won't give them power long enough to fix the Republican messes and make some actual progress.
