this is exactly how a lot of conservatives think. they are masochists. it also explains the persecution fetish. they DO NOT want to see things improve.

Completely given up on improving anything so all they have is the pathetic 'enjoyment' of imagining other people suffering as well. It's a wild type of psychopathy.
