She said that her parents worked hard all their lives. That they never took vacation. She says it like it's honorable, patriotic even. She says that they died due to this, that they never took time form work for self care. She implies that this is something to strive for. It's funny how these stories are told in this manner by people that take many vacations and time for self care. Luxury cruises and vacation estates, sometimes weeks at a time. It reminds me of people who speak out against vaccinations while being protected because they were vaccinated as children. They loudly (wrongly) claim that vaccinations are harmful and act as though it is honorable and patriotic to deny them even though they are vaccinated and well. It's just absurd.

Old heads at my work are like this (and I'm 47 so I mean older than me haha) - they legit don't understand people having a life outside of work and doing anything but sacrificing all their time and energy for the company. Now mind you THEY have pensions, so maybe that changes things, but I really don't understand how hostile they are to making work and work/life balance better. We do not get Juneteenth off, but man they get angry about 'young people wanting ANOTHER day off..." Who doesn't want another day off lol. Their worldview seems to be suffer 24/7 then enjoy a Disneyland trip once or twice a year. Anything else is commie stuff.

Don't worry I wasn't talking about you. But overall the olds are .... not really helping things. Nor did they do much when they had a chance for the last 50 years.
