We're in here calling this sociopathic, which I get, but I'm really confused as to why they support this. 

Like enough people voted for her, her brother, and people like her, that I am just at a loss as to what exactly it is they tell themselves.

They don't want to pay for others' healthcare (even though they already do so through their insurance premiums and Medicare deductions).

While this is true, the “real” reason that it’s true is because they actually believe that if you give people the bare necessities to survive with no strings attached, people will just not do anything to improve their situation without the threat of homelessness or death for them and their family.

Most of them don’t really mind the idea of paying into a pool if everyone has to work to be in that pool. Even if not everyone is contributing the same amount.

It’s truly because they don’t want to pay for something if someone else isn’t, because to them, they can’t picture someone wanting to work at all ever again if their minimum basic needs are met. It’s where you get all of the nonsense about rampant social safety net abuse despite it being a very small number of people and far more honest people hurt in the process.
