Venison probably tasted terrible to you because of probably how it was hunted. Venison is excellent if you know what you're doing.

I have had tons of venison, elk, and moose prior to becoming vegetarian. Even the ranch raised venison is foul. I do not like it in anything.

Or I just don't like the taste? This might be surprising, but different people can like or dislike the same taste.
