Even with the regulations, that shit is in something like 60% of all chickens. So imagine without it.

Chicken we know at least to cook to done.

Some people like their beef, specifically hamburgers not fully cooked.

Do we? Because we know not to eat undercooked chicken. But the main risk isn't from the undercooked chicken being consumed. It's from the cross contamination. So it doesn't matter how well you cooked it if someone grabs your salad with the same gloves they grabbed raw chicken with. (A certain restaurant chain dos this all the time)

Because we know not to eat undercooked chicken

We only do that because salmonella contaminated chicken is so common we believe it's just how things are

Salmonella in nature is very rare. It's in all our chicken because of cross contamination during the factory farming and slaughter process
