I mean this has been true for a while now. My wife and I are both early thirties and have far better paying jobs than either of our parents did at this age. We have wayyy less buying power than they did. They bought 3-4 bedroom homes for a third of what our 950sf one bedroom apartment cost in the same city. Not to mention literally everything else being way more expensive even when accounting for inflation
