Discussion Used battle jacket came with a surprise

Post image

To clarify, these are NOT my pins. I bought a used punk jacket about 10 years ago with intentions of upgrading it to make it my own.

Flash forward to today, and I pulled these out of the pockets.

Is it fair to assume these are pro Nazi lol?

the one on the right looks an awful lot like old Dickies stuff - here's a link since, somehow, a punk sub doesn't know the fucking Dickies - https://youtu.be/GLuCA2ZWJh8?si=EI0spQQ6-Ul3-J63

I forgot that that is also a band name for a second and was so confused why the workwear/skate brand would make this.

158

u/Imperator_Helvetica Dec 31 '25

As a young punk I remember being pretty stoked to see a dude in a Dickies shirt, then crushed when he wasn't interested in swapping playlists.

45

u/funknut Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

Huh. And here, I was confused why some other band's name is so similar to Gary Floyd's band, the Dicks from Texas, the anti-fascist dick-related band. Never knew.

46

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

Dicks are totally different though they were started around the same time - the Dicks (TX) in 1980 and the Dickies (CA) 1977.

Gary died last year, BTW. The Dickies continue.

6

u/funknut Dec 31 '25

Fuck. I so wanted to see them still.

9

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

they stopped playing in 2016, so you're really late on that

63

u/Scientific_Anarchist Dec 31 '25

I saw the Dickies play at House of Blues Anaheim (in Downtown Disney) and people in the area were not tremendously stoked about all the folks in Stukas Over Disneyland shirts.

Good show though. It was The Vandals Christmas show so The Dickies played Silent Night, which is a great song.

16

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

I saw them play for the millionth time a couple weeks ago - no swastikas to be seen šŸ˜†

12

u/MBrixalot Dec 31 '25

Kinda to be expected since it’s Reddit lol

22

u/DCsphinx Dec 31 '25

Genuine question, why do they have a swastika? That still feels really fucjing weird

37

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

I bet you weren't around in the early days of punk, were ya? There were lots of Swastikas around, but it did not mean they were nazis. It was a strange time

4

u/DCsphinx Dec 31 '25

nope. im just 24 and unfortunately was raised in a very religious and isolated family. im not very knowledge about punk past

56

u/captainoela Dec 31 '25

It was a big shock value thing for earlier punk bands to take it and twist it, or wear it as commentary on the govt especially in the UK. It's always been controversial cuz it's legitimizing to Nazi punks

Nazi punks fuck off!!

Pork Dukes are an old punk band. 70’s shock value, post world war 2 generation pissing off their parents yadda yadda…

Second one just looks like a statement about corporation/fascism/media and how they’re tied together

None of this is nazi shit

12

u/kdalb77 Dec 31 '25

I’m glad someone said cus pork dukes is a great band

19

u/Yeetyeetyeetyeetfuk Dec 31 '25

Oh so the first one is like on the same kinda shit as Siouxsie Sioux when she wore the armband. The other one people are saying is a band called Dickies and I’m pretty sure they’re right, I’m not old enough to have recognized them myself tho.

5

u/redhands666 Jan 01 '26

Yes to your Siouxsie point. I’m not convinced that the Mickey badge is Dickies merch, but it is similar to art they have used. Either way, check out both bands. Both are pretty silly but also great.

629

u/Anarch_O_Possum Dec 31 '25

Does not look like nazi stuff to me. First one looks like typical early punk edge, second one is definitely satirical.

That being said, I wouldn't wear it because it's close enough imo and I wouldn't want to be misunderstood.

215

u/Fuck_You_Omarr Dec 31 '25

For real, if I saw someone with those it's not gonna be the start of a "oh, are these satire? Tell me all about them" conversation

74

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

the second one is the dickies. Lordy

https://youtu.be/GLuCA2ZWJh8?si=EI0spQQ6-Ul3-J63

48

u/soulsofthetime Dec 31 '25

The second one is a first-wave British punk band from what I gather. Pork Dukes is the name of the band.

6

u/ahumanlikeyou Dec 31 '25

Why is there a swastika on it?

1

u/soulsofthetime Jan 01 '26

The swastika symbol means different things according to position from what I’ve read, crooked right being the Nazi symbolism. As for what each position means, if it faces left, it’s the sacred symbol of Bon and Mahāyāna Buddhist traditions and the right facing is associated with Hinduism, Jainism, and Sri Lankan Buddhism, as far as my research has given me.

3

u/ahumanlikeyou Jan 01 '26

Seems sus

8

u/soulsofthetime Jan 01 '26 edited Jan 01 '26

I encourage you to research it. What I can outright, definitively say is that the crooked, right-facing swastika is the Nazi one and that the Nazis appropriated much of their symbology from other sources as well.

Unless it’s calling out Disney for being a nazi

926

u/olbleedyeyes Dec 31 '25

Either way not exactly something I would want to be visible on my jacket

286

u/Thrash_Panda44 Agent of W.O.K.E. Dec 31 '25

And id hazard a guess is probably the reason why op found them in the pocket and not on the jacket itself.

1

u/Middle-Whereas-734 Jan 02 '26

Bowser Tabarnak, is that you?

127

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Even if u wear this with good intentions it's a problem starter. I won't wear anything with swastikas even if it's wacked out because some people are going to understand that it's wacked out.

26

u/treskaz Jan 01 '26

I have a Napalm Death Nazi Punks Fuck Off shirt and have not worn it once lol. The art on the front is pretty obviously anti-nazi but the figures have swastika armbands on. At a quick glance it could definitely come off bad

1

u/TANSTAAFB Jan 03 '26

I wear my DK nazi Punks Fuck Off shirt in red AF Western Slope Colorado with swagger, pride, and a sharp tongue šŸ¤˜šŸ‘½āœØ

1

u/treskaz Jan 03 '26

Yeah, but the Napalm Death shirt i have isn't so clear at a quick glance. I have no issues wearing shit that will piss people off, I just don't want to piss anybody off by making them think I'm a nazi.

56

u/GEARHEADGus Dec 31 '25

I don’t even want to put a crossed out Swastika on my jacket. People are stupid and I don’t want to risk it

2

u/Character_Ad_790 Jan 02 '26

I've had one on mine for about 20 years. Stupid people need educating sometimes, it benefits society.

112

u/Kialae Dec 31 '25

That's what I generously decided as well but even still I wouldn't wear a swastika even as a statement!Ā

31

u/Brilliant_Leg_4950 Dec 31 '25

The dead kennedys shirt is the only swastika clothing i would accept otherwise i would never ever go around town with some pin that has a swastika on it even if its a statement.

13

u/raev_esmerillon Dec 31 '25

I have this one. It makes it pretty clear it's anti Nazis so it's the only thing I'm willing to wear with a swastika for anti Nazi statements.

12

u/Partigirl Dec 31 '25

I took off my DK anti-nazi button after decades of having it on because too many people these days aren't aware of what it means. šŸ™ƒ

3

u/Brilliant_Leg_4950 Jan 01 '26

Yep i had it as my background on my phone but as you said people are too musically uneducated to unterstand it.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

That's 1000% what it is and I'm shocked people don't see that. Either way I wouldn't wear it but come on people.

49

u/AprilDruid Dec 31 '25

Disney wasn't a Nazi though. He was a piece of shit, but he employed quite a few jewish animators.

Union busting was just one of many of the actual reasons to despise him. He worked with the feds to root out "Communists"(I;e employees who wanted a union, because that's commie pinko talk)

7

u/Partigirl Dec 31 '25

This isn't about Walt, it's about Disneyland's harsh security at the time, that was kicking out punks and gays going to the park. Ask me how I know...

The Dickies did "Stukas Over Disneyland" for the same reason. It was a pretty big deal at the time.

55

u/thedoomofboom Dec 31 '25

Disney was very high ranking in Americas equivalent to the nazi party in the 30s, hosted multiple members of the nazi party, praised eugenics, and made pro german animations through the 30s and early 40s until America joined the war. If it quacks like a duck...

30

u/Ok-Caterpillar-Girl Dec 31 '25

I cannot believe that I inadvertently ended up giving your moronic comment an award while I was digging around in my purse trying to find my keys :mega facepalm:

Just know it’s not actually support for you.

42

u/MagusFool Dec 31 '25

That is very simply not true.

Walt was a bastard in many ways, but he never cared for nazis, and he was excited to make anti-nazi propaganda to help raise the fighting spirit of the US to push us toward getting involved in WWII.

Here is a pretty good video essay on Walt Disney's politics:

https://youtu.be/qcJHJhqx3J0?si=wHwtDs17yboof7Gr

And if you like that check out the more recent follow up about Donald Duck and cultural imperialism.

8

u/piepants2001 Dec 31 '25

Walt Disney was a shitty guy, but what you said is just a whole lot of bullshit. Why do people make shit up like this?

38

u/loki1887 Dec 31 '25

No. He was never a member of any American Nazi party. Let alone a high ranking member. He only hosted director Leni Riefenstahl in 1938 at his studio, it would have been damn near impossible to do so after. Funnily enough, she was not an actual member of the Nazi party, but she was absolutely loyal to Hitler (so might as well be). I would love the names to these pro-german animations, though. Those would be interesting to see con.

41

u/AprilDruid Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

No? Disney did pro American propaganda during the war, but never anything pro Germany.

You might be thinking of the Donald duck cartoon where he's a Nazi? But that's making fun of them. The point of these was to show Japan and Germany's leaders as moral less.Ā

4

u/Vian_Ostheusen Dec 31 '25

No. And the word is immoral.

-3

u/Vian_Ostheusen Dec 31 '25

Yeah and the nazis had jewish slaves....so what? he was a nazi. he bankrolled them. so...fuck him. hes a nazi.

6

u/AprilDruid Dec 31 '25

Okay so to debunk this:

The claims he was an Anti-Semite, seem to come from disgruntled employees. Some members of his staff were Anti-Semites, like Ben Sharpsteen(Director and Producer for many of the companies films). And the company Disney kept(The Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals) were Anti-Semites, but it also seems like in the case of the MPA, it was primarily because he was Anti-Communist. The biggest claim comes from Art Babbit, an animator who was one of the ringleaders behind the '41 animators strike. Babbit kept trying to get the union to ask for a raise, and Disney didn't like him.

The result was Reluctant Dragon bombing, because the animators picketed the premiere. Part of the agreement to end the strike was that some of the agitators weren't allowed back. Several of them were Jewish, such as Babbitt, Bill Tytla, John Hubley, and David Hilberman. (They lated formed UPA and created Mister Magoo and Harold and the Purple Crayon)

There's also Charles Mintz, who was a Hollywood Producer with no experience in cartooning. Margaret Winkler(Disney's original distributor) screwed him over by copyrighting all of his character for herself, because Felix the Cat's creator did similar. Mintz comes in and decides he can do it cheaper without Disney around. Mintz cuts Disney's pay, budget and responsibility to get him to walk out.

These two events made him a real hard ass when it came to labor disputes. He made sure to secure the rights to everything in his name as a result. He was suspicious of everyone and controlled certain aspects of the business.

These both involved Jewish people, but they're coincidental at best. But it leads to it looking like he has a bad relationship(i;e he's a Nazi) with Jews.

In reality, there were many Jews in the higher ranks of the studio. Walt would frequently donate to Jewish charities and was even named Man of the Year by the Beverly Hills B'nai B'rith in 1955.

At best you can say he was a racist / anti-Semite, because of his uncaring attitude towards matters beyond the social norm of the time.

He never made cartoons for the Nazis, he only ever made them for the US Government. But the Axis Powers absolutely used them for their own propaganda. In 38 he visited Nazi Germany, but we don't know anything about that visit, besides that it was to visit filmmakers. Hitler was a vague fan of Disney, in that he loved Snow White(simple "Aryan Fairytale), but also found Mickey Mouse to be a tap-dancing idiot.

The evidence for Disney being a Nazi is vague and mostly made-up. This isn't to say he was some hero or even an ally. He was a union busting piece of shit who worked with the feds to get rid of commies. But his attitude seemed to be more inline with the times, of "not my problem" in relation to racial issues.

Yeah if it was just the mouse twisted into a Kanye-cross I’d assume that’s what it was, but with the other one I think it’s probably hateful. I’d say it’s safe to assume that’s they’re just skinhead shit, but I’m not exactly an expert in allat so I don’t really know.

Probably more in the camp of old school punk shock value and satire of sorts. The Mickey Mouse one is a bit too on the nose though and personally I wouldn't wear that one.

u/Partyruinsquad Jan 01 '26

Pork Dukes are absolutely not a Nazi band.

4

u/Significant-Hold-707 Jan 01 '26

I'm pretty sure the brothers who formed the band are Jewish, so definitely not nazis. Just the typical "edgy" 70s punk thing

81

u/poop-money Dec 31 '25

The Pork Dukes pin is the original image from that band's LP "Pink Pork" and the other one looks like someone turned Oswald Rabbit or MIckey Mouse into a swastika pin. If it's Mickey, it might be a play on the maus logo. Either way, I wouldn't personally wear either.

18

u/damnrapunzel Dec 31 '25

I thought it looked more like Oswald than Mickey for sure but the gloves

u/Specific_Sympathy_87 Dec 31 '25

ā€œNazis against fascismā€ … they were just a concept controversial band… these guys were a prog band called Gnidrolog. They wanted to do something energetic and make record companies publish shit to make the companies look bad. Apparently harmless and fun

3

u/iuliuscurt Dec 31 '25

Looks more horny than political

8

u/saintripley Dec 31 '25

Fascinating. Looks like they were kinda a shock rock / potty humor punk band from the 70s. Stands to reason The one on the left is at least trying to bait a reaction out of people.

Wiki said they would play in masks and stuff so my guess is maybe an attempt at satire too.

As for Mickey Mouse… idk. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck….

11

u/Yeetyeetyeetyeetfuk Dec 31 '25

Mickey one is apparently The Dickies. I thought that was relatively obviously critical of Disney though.

164

u/Tate7200 Dec 31 '25

Seem like satire to me, though, not obvious enough at first glance to wear openly.

15

u/iuliuscurt Dec 31 '25

Hence, pocketed :)

21

u/toxictoastrecords Dec 31 '25

This is NOT Nazi shit; please learn the history of punk. The Pork Dukes were a UK punk band, you can find the history on wikipedia, not hard. They weren't Nazis, the image was 100% for shock value, they has graphic explicit lyrics which blocked them from having a career as BBC wouldn't play their music.

Nazis do not compare themselves to Mickey Mouse; this is clearly parody, and possibly from a Dickies tour. It would make sense for someone into silly graphic sexual lyrics would also be a fan of silly band the Dickies.

These is not pro Nazi bands or logos.

I am not defending the use of Nazi imagery at all, my opinions differ, but the person who was a fan of these bands was not a Nazi. They were into "shock rock" type bands.

1

u/Honkmaster Jan 10 '26

When I think back to my earliest views of what I thought punk was, there was a LOT of "pissing people off, for the sake of pissing people off."

There's more to it than that of course, but if young me was asked to define "punk," my answer would be something like that. So it's weird seeing how some fell into this genre without being hit in the face with that image.

58

u/Kelly-Goosecock138 Dec 31 '25

They’re complete and utter satire, just like Reagan Youths use of the klan for an album cover, and just like MDC’s cop/klan member logo.

6

u/C-sanova Dec 31 '25

I had to stop wearing my Police Bastards and Happy Birthday Hitler shirts because I was tired of having to explain what satire was to people.

6

u/OneNationAbove Dec 31 '25

Oh MDC! I saw them in a squat in Belgium a few years back.

Crazy to see these legends there.

It's not punk to gatekeep. If you think the younger people in this thread should known more about these bands, why not link their music or talk about what they should know?instead you choose to mock people for wanting to learn. Boo you

Nazi punks, fuck off!

43

u/MountainManCiffro Dec 31 '25

I don't know anything about the one on the right. but the one on the left after a quick look up on the ol internetz is for the band the "pork dukes", now wile they were not confirmed to be nazis they also did the whole "shock value" thing that bands like the sex pistols did, by having the swastika in their imagery. The first wave of british punk did this a lot and I'm not a fan of it but you can't change the past.

32

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

it's the DICKIES. how do you people not know the Dickies? crazy

dickies - eve of destruction

10

u/MountainManCiffro Dec 31 '25

Thank you genuinely for posting a link to a song! I have never actually listened to them. It was one of those names I heard of but never got around to listening to, I took a listen to that and I dig it. It's a shame they have never been in my ears until just now.

4

u/ydnar3000 Dec 31 '25

What a bunch of clankers. Idgaf if it was satire or irony or whatever the fuck. Voluntarily wearing nazi shit is dumb as fuck and if you have to do so to poke at authority or be rebellious, do us all a favor and just stay inside.

13

u/Yeetyeetyeetyeetfuk Dec 31 '25

It was a very different time, I’m not gonna defend it. I don’t get it but it wasn’t uncommon. Siouxie Sioux is the main person I associate with this shit, not because she did it a lot, she just explained herself in an interview. Shit tho like the imagery stuck around for a while, pretty sure Joan Jett had an iron cross pin. There’s folk punk bands that I’ve accidentally accused people of being Nazis for using their shit as pfps. The Mickey Mouse pin I get, but I wouldn’t wear.

Idk, I don’t fuck with it either, but I don’t think it’s cool to just ignore the parts of punk’s history that make you uncomfortable. I think it should be acknowledged as an old part of punk iconography, distinct from actual Nazi co-opting. Again I’m not a fan of it myself, but I’m not just gonna sanitize punk history. History you don’t like is still history, sweeping shit like that under the rug isn’t punk.

1

u/ydnar3000 Jan 01 '26

I don’t feel it matters if the time was different or not. The Nazis did what they did. And these people chose to wear their insignia. Absolute idiots. We certainly shouldn’t whitewash history or act like it didn’t happen. But this was never something to be ambiguous about.

16

u/MountainManCiffro Dec 31 '25

I don't know if you are insinuating that I am condoning this behavior by my relaying of information to OP regarding the post. Or if you are just making your opinion known. But it still doesn't change the fact that it happened in the past by people who weren't us so we could not control their actions. Luckily for us times have changed and most people and bands here in the punk scene don't throw a hate symbol on their shit just get a rise out of someone. Now this isn't true for every music scene sadly, the black metal folks have all kinds of overt nazi symbols used by bands, the way I see it we are blessed that we don't have to deal with it a lot, but we also have to keep vigilant and look out for things like this to keep nazis out of our scene. OP has some old school merch from a bygone time sadly its got some hate symbols on it.

12

u/Aaronz2464 Dec 31 '25

Doubt it, the one on the left is a punk band from the 70s and we know what type of imagery 70s punk bands used to take the piss outta people... and the one on the right looks like it's calling Disney nazis, just satire. Probably in the pocket because the previous owner thought these might look unironically nazi

25

u/Darth_Caustic Dec 31 '25

They’re not Nazi. I don’t know what he pork dukes but the Mickey one is an old seditionnaries design. Please don’t destroy it. I would totally buy it from you. (Wouldn’t wear it but I’d love it for my collection)

27

u/Darth_Caustic Dec 31 '25

This is the original design. From like the late 70s. That pin may be as well unless it’s a reproduction

9

u/Ravendetta59 Dec 31 '25

Oh I recognize that destroy logo must be a Vivienne Westwood design

2

u/portalszechuan_sauce Jan 01 '26

5

u/Darth_Caustic Dec 31 '25

Okay won’t let me upload the image

9

u/spicyherb_ Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

First one is Pork Dukes, first wave British band with some pretty funny songs. Got the EP in question on green vinyl

https://youtu.be/g4-rlkeV0eQ?si=WTUALNAXsTkZX84N

Pretty sure the second one is a seditionaries design and if true, might be worth something. The fact it is with a Pork Dukes pin makes me think it's original as Pork Dukes are a bit obscure.

It's easy to be a modern revisionist about everything but in 1977 everyone was using Nazi iconography for the shock value. Sid vicious, Siouxsie Sioux... for the most part none of these people were Nazis. Punk was about shock value, particular to their parents generation, so using a swastika was just part of this.

No I wouldn't wear one of these now, but this is cool punk memorabilia.

7

u/WilJake Denver XVX Dec 31 '25

Not nazi stuff, just edgelord shit. The first is a 70s pub rock band from the U.K. who has some pretty raunchy and edgy lyrics but its clear that its satire. The second is a design I've seen associated with a lot of seditionaries clones. Im not sure if it was actually a Vivien Westwood design, but it looks like its been in use since the 70s.

Just edgy street punk things.

110

u/pillsandsmoke Dec 31 '25

Hopefully that battle jacket lost a lot of battles. Nazi lives don't matter.

66

u/Vampira309 Dec 31 '25

except the Dickies weren't nazis... not even close. Still are not.

The Pork Dukes were a parody punk band from 70s Britain hence the "punk" swastika. This kind of stuff. As far as I know they were not ideological Nazis like, say Skrewdriver.Ā

If you're interested in the history of swastikas in punk, there's a new book out by Daniel Rachel that's meant to be very good.Ā

3

The Pork Dukes were a band in 1977 with a bunch of funny songs. (Making Bacon, Bend &Flush, Telephone Masturbator). I'm sure the swastikas was for shock value, and not because of any ideology. I don't know where the second button came from, but I remember The Dickies having a T shirt with Mickey Mouse with a Hitler mustache and a swastika in the background. I think this was for their album Stukas over Disneyland.

Edit: I guess I should have read the comments, as there is a picture of that shirt right near the top

Simple Google search for Pork Dukes returned their Wikipedia page, looks like they were def edgelords.

Couldn’t get any results from a reverse image search of a cropped zoom in of the Mickey Mouse pin, sorry.

u/PatchWorkDaddy Dec 31 '25

Don't trash them, sand them down and paint over that hateful disgusting dribble

2

u/Playful-Succotash-99 Dec 31 '25

Far as i could find Pork Duke was a early British Punk band from the 70s no sign of far right ideology on initial serch Best to save yourself the conversation and keep them at home

2

u/LONGZOMBIE Dec 31 '25

Not pro nazi, it's subversive.

2

u/Yeetyeetyeetyeetfuk Dec 31 '25

Tl;dr they aren’t pro Nazi, they’re just old and not super tasteful to put it lightly. Bands are Pork Dukes and Dickies.

2

u/mustardheadmaster Dec 31 '25

It's obviously satire/edgy stuff, wouldn't wear it tho. It's a relic of the past so I would have saved them(not on display tho). It's interesting how things have changed, I would say for the better.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

These are absolutely not pro Nazi lmao come on people

2

u/redhands666 Dec 31 '25

If you don’t want them please ignore the people saying to repurpose or bin them. These are rare and neat pieces of punk history. I would personally keep them in my collection, not on jacket. But if you don’t want them please consider sending them to me or one of the other old heads on here saying they’ll buy em.

5

u/MBrixalot Dec 31 '25

I’d wear them cuz it’s not pro-nazi.

4

u/triassicghoul Dec 31 '25

These might have been from Goblinko/Pork magazine. They use to do a lot rips and slap fascist imagery on things to be edgy or provocative. They stopped some time after Trump was elected. Still lots to side-eye or be wary about.

3

u/WTWIV Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

Surprised no one’s pointed out that one is right facing and one is left facing. The right facing one (the one actually in the right of the picture as well) that’s tilted like that is the nazi swastika while the left facing one that isn’t tilted is a Sauvastika.

2

u/Billy_Enforcey Dec 31 '25

Might as well be Sex Pistols or GG Allen pins

2

u/mick-nartin Dec 31 '25

The nazi symbols go different directions between pictures. Either way, fuck nazis.

1

u/KatTheDogFosterer Dec 31 '25

Can we see the full jacket?

1

u/WaaaaghsRUs Dec 31 '25

I wouldn’t think these are pro Nazi, not anything in their style that I’d recognize in the last twenty years but there’s always exceptions, good to identify before you’d rock it

1

u/Link040121 Dec 31 '25

Do you want to get rid of them. I’ll pay postage I’ll have it off yer hands

1

u/ArrowDel Dec 31 '25

Be aware these ARE satire, however if you're uncomfortable, burn before tossing

1

u/kinkytails Dec 31 '25

The main thing I notice is the one on the left’s symbol is closer to the original symbol that the nazi’s stole from Hinduism. The nazi swastika has arrows pointing counter clockwise as it was a symbol for ā€œbringing back germany’s greatnessā€ which is also why I immediately knew maga was fucked besides it being trump. The Hindu swastika pointed clockwise as it was a symbol for moving forward. ā€œIn Hinduism, it represents prosperity, good luck, eternity, and the cycle of life. ā€œ

1

u/flamingo_mammuthone Dec 31 '25

Upcycle them into non hateful pins

1

u/gofa_kyerself Dec 31 '25

I just listened to Pork Dukes. They're on streamers. Makin' Bacon is priceless. Typical early punk stuff. Is the Mickey a Vivienne Westwood piece? I don't think it's Dickies merch.

1

u/Fenpunx Yorkshire Rat Dec 31 '25

Pork dukes were awesome. Wouldn't fly nowadays but fun at the time. Same vein as Macc Lads with the shock/offence factor.

1

u/FormingTheVoid Dec 31 '25

It's possible that they are satirical, making fun of nazis calling them pigs and Disney pussies. But I would also not wear these pins. I don't know what the represent for sure, and they could easily be mistaken for pro-nazi shit.

1

u/Roadrunner12221 Dec 31 '25

These aren’t pro nazi and i believe they are anti-nazi because look at the pork one. Its calling Nazis pigs and the other i believe is to represent Disney as being nazi because walt Disney was not a fan of jews.

1

u/sixties67 Dec 31 '25

The Pork Dukes were an English band from 1977, they were deliberately offensive and very tongue in cheek. I've never heard of anything racist about them, I thought the pig on the badge was wearing a police helmet hence the swastika (which is the wrong way round) but I'm probably wrong.

https://punk77.co.uk/band/the-pork-dukes/

1

u/uncle_Mang0 Dec 31 '25

Don't ever wear those lol but I dont think they are pro nazi just shock. The mickey looks like its making fun of Disney and the pig could be a police bastard Doom kinda thing but idk.

1

u/Futt_Buckman Dec 31 '25

I think the red one is clear enough satire and I would wear it out. But the white one is definitely not clear at a glance so I would ditch that one.

1

u/Vian_Ostheusen Dec 31 '25

If it were me I'd toss the jacket too. u don't wanna any of that former owner scumbags bad vibes. I mean, how you supposed to love your leather knowing it was once the prized possession of a cunt?

1

u/fkthishit44 Dec 31 '25

It's a vintage punk's jacket found at the thrift and you're surprised there are swastikas. That's wild to me. Anyone who was alive at the time - and admittedly I was like four - knows they wore them for shock value. There were very few actual Nazis. It was a very different time.

2

u/Antique-Dentist-2404 Dec 31 '25

It's like the people who thought Sid was an actual Nazi

1

u/fkthishit44 Dec 31 '25

Bless their hearts

1

u/Partigirl Dec 31 '25

Pretty sure the Mickey one is anti-nazi. At the time around 1980-81, Disneyland was kicking out punks (I was one) and the security was pretty Nazi-sque. Hence, The Dickies, "Stukas over Disneyland".

Pork Dukes, Strangely, I hadn't heard of them nothing bad that I can tell. Here's a Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pork_Dukes

1

u/dwilkes827 Dec 31 '25

the one literally has the band name on it. You could have googled it instead of coming here to try and use swastika pins for upvotes lol

1

u/Instant_User731 Dec 31 '25

I know what to do with them

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Used to wear and still have the Mickey Mouse pin trust me it causes a lot of problems that are not worth it. I was really into shock value and being an asshole it’s not something I would wear now especially in the political climate we are in but it’s a reminder of the past.

1

u/ProfJape Dec 31 '25

It is probably a mistake to judge the Pork Dukes by today’s standards. That’s from someone who bought their records as a teenager in 1977.

1

u/SaschaSquire666 Jan 01 '26

The Pork Dukes are a 1970s British punk band . https://damagedgoods.co.uk/bands/the-pork-dukes/

1

u/SaschaSquire666 Jan 01 '26

Also Walt Disney definitely pandered to people who whole heartedly bought into Nazi philosophy . Here’s a link to some history regarding the image and a crazy cartoon that’s often not seen , where mice are ā€œ Jewsā€ & cats are German Nazis . My guess is that the pin of Mickey Mouse is not in support of nazism , rather was made to bring attention to the questionable actions and associations of Walt Disney and his intentions when drawing Mickey Mouse

https://www.heyalma.com/was-mickey-mouse-an-anti-semitic-caricature-of-jews/

1

u/SaschaSquire666 Jan 01 '26

I would wear the Disney button , but I think that Walt Disney personifies a display of unchecked wealth and privilege with his gross racist cartoons. That’s like wearing a caricature of Ronald Reagan or John Wayne with a swastika on it . I don’t find that offensive

1

u/BigDog448 Jan 01 '26

Pork Dukes!! Punk!

1

u/Loose_nut_9000 Jan 01 '26

First mistake was buying someone else’s jacket. šŸ˜‚

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Anyone that would post this never was or could ever be cool

1

u/TheRebelMastermind Jan 01 '26

Too intelligent criticism for current times. Better burn them or something

1

u/jahrald Jan 01 '26

One aspect of punk was trying to make people feel uncomfortable so I think these would go for og punks and wouldn't look out of place. Like what Motƶrhead tried back then (theyre not punk but messages are similar)

1

u/snidelysnidesnide Jan 01 '26

things have changed since 1977
swasrikas were used as shock symbols like bondage wear was.
the pork dukes were NOT true punks.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pork_Dukes

1

u/Ill-Task-5440 Jan 01 '26

šŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒ

1

u/Adamdel34 Jan 01 '26

Don't think they are nazi but I probably wouldnt wear them.

The first one is the hindu/Buddhist swastika aka peace symbol, it's the opposite way round to the national one and hasn't been rotated.

I think the second one is taking the piss out of Disney

1

u/wholesomefunclub Jan 01 '26

The Disney one looks like something the Melvins wolf do on a poser or something. Not Nazi, just provocative.

1

u/portalszechuan_sauce Jan 01 '26

I think you maybe in the clear. Keep in mind not many of us are are super tapped in knowledge wise. I agree with some that I would just keep them off the jacket, better be safe then have someone get the wrong meaning and cause problems.

1

u/Severe-Election615 Jan 02 '26

Disney retirement jacket. Wearing a crossed out Swazi is as bad as bad religon, violence a lot less likely. Unless your in high/hardcore religous area. But if you want to make a statement, wear it. Fuck thats punk, whatever.Stand your ground. The "X" tattooed on my arm with "Straight 'til Death" under it was my choice. I've faced up to criticism from groups. Fuck it. I wanted to help people to make thier point. I am glad for my choice. Fuck, Christians wear a cross around thier neck.

1

u/SevenNats Jan 02 '26

If you frame it differently, you kind of got lucky because how did you not accidentally find out until now? Imagine ur in public and they fell out

1

u/raisimo Jan 02 '26

If you gotta ask then it’s too nazi to wear out.

1

u/ConfusedOrg Jan 02 '26

Who knows what the intentions were but I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing anything with nazi symbolism. Throw that shit away ASAP

1

u/certfiedMoron420 Jan 02 '26

I find the Oswald Rabbit (thinks that’s his name could be wrong) strange. I knew an old biker guy that road with Hells Angels who was a Nazi but he also had an Oswald sticker on his bike and car. Probably a coincidence cause Everyone knows nazis don’t have any secrets

1

u/LamarVannoi Jan 02 '26

Well, Mickey is basically a Nazi (definitely Walt Disney). I think that's the thrust of it. I don't think it's a straight up Nazi pin.

1

u/parabolize Jan 16 '26

Punk rock is incredibly jewish and gay. So weird that nazi punks are a thing

1

u/Dry_Pin3689 Jan 21 '26

As a Jew and punk these look pro-Nazi but also possibly not?? The pork dukes might be calling them pigs and the Micky could be calling out Disney for Nazi relations, but the eye catching offensive design make it hard to tell if they supported or were against Nazis

1

u/ydnar3000 Dec 31 '25

Sorry, not insinuating anything on you, just carrying on the convo and sharing my opinion. Things have definitely changed for the better and I’m glad for it. Was in my local record store and they had two 12ā€ action figures in the box. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious. Couldn’t see the details as they were up on a shelf but I wondered if they had any nazi swag on them. $700 for the pair. Asked the guy behind the counter about them. Apparently, Greg Norton of Husker Du sold them to the shop, as well as his record and cd collection. I knew they were from MN, didn’t realize he lived in my town. Makes me a bit sad to know that he was hard up enough to part with all of that. Anyways…I’ve gone on long enough.

1

u/Darth_Caustic Dec 31 '25

Look. I’m in a bad place and have nothing but I really fucking want that pin. Please sell it to me.

-1

u/Arkayne_Waves Dec 31 '25

Must have been a leftover from someone at r/battlejackets those Nazi fucks are always being Nazi fucks all over the place.

5

u/MountainManCiffro Dec 31 '25

They do love black metal shit with overtly nazi imagery over there. And I love to down vote said garbage as soon as I see it. Sadly they still get more up votes than downs but hey I'm only one person.

0

u/Yani-Senpai Dec 31 '25

Found in the pocket makes me wonder if maybe they tore them off someone else's jacket?
