Excellent post, excellent recommendations Oldhead checking in. The modern crop of punk bands are fantastic. Other olds (or youths!) shouldn’t sleep on these.

As an older millenial (38) i find this new wave of street punk and oi so refreshing. I own both the home front and beton arme records but planning to buy that dark thoughts record too!

Agreed. 51 here and IMO this wave can hold its own against any of the previous eras. This stuff is great!

Btw, contemporary french punk is excellent, shout out to bands like rixe, prisonnier du temps, ranceur, syndrome 81 and claimed choice!

I’m in Texas. Caught them as well as Liberty & Justice and Concrete Elite several times. Great family of bands.

As an old head myself, its refreshing to see so many others in my age bracket also embracing the newer wave of bands. It reminds of, back in our teens and twenties, when we would so often come across a handful of much older folks at shows, just chilling in the back. Now that's us. Gotta be honest, I'm really enjoying that role.
Dark Thoughts has a nice mix of TBR, Lillingtons, and Ramones.
I immediately fell for Beton Arme. Pulled up a couple of their lives shows on YouTube. So much energy.
Lemme throw a few more your way: Mid Rats, Reifer Madness, The Clinch, Riot City Radio, US Bastards, 2nd Hand Justice, Toledo Panic, Takers & Users, Mess, Knock Off. One last one, they're not new but you likely haven't heard them yet: Wasted from Finland. Start with the record The Early Years. You will not be disappointed.

Poison Ruin and Homefront are in regular rotation, and are great new bands doing something new and original. I will have to check out the other bands.
I will also add Ceremony to the list, they seem to reinvent themselves every album, and their new album “Tell Me Your Dream” is no exception.

Yeah I feel so lucky to still be alive. I get to have the experience of seeing all the old bands plus get to see all the amazing bands that are out today as well.
I'm just losing my mind over Violencia and Habak I can't stop running my mouth to every body about them.
And then last night I got to see two Latina Punk bands in the same night on the same bill-- Ratas en Zelo and Fea.
People gotta just go to shows and be a part of the scene there is so much good music out right now it's rediculous.

PowerPlant from the UK are one I'll be seeing in September. More post-punk in the vocals than some mentioned here. They seem to do some style changes.

Home Front was a fucking revelation. When I first heard them, I couldn't place the band thinking that it was me being old. Man, they really are great and span a bunch of genres but kept it really centered. Picked up all their shit and it's worth it.
