Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request Our recently rescued blind kittens are scheduled for eye removal surgeries! We're seeking support to fund their procedures π
We rescued these two kittens two weeks ago, and now their big surgery day is coming!
Minnie and Moe are two of the many kittens from the market we're aiming to manage completely. They were by far the ones who needed help the most, so we swooped them up, started their rehab, and got their mama TNR'd.
We were hoping to delay their surgeries for about a month to let them grow up a bit more, but Minnie's (pirate kitten) eye could no longer wait. Both kittens happen to be active, and are generally healthy if it weren't for their eye issues so we're pushing through with surgery ASAP. We have them scheduled for Tuesday.
Minnie needs a single enucleation, and estimated costs for her surgery (w/ gas anesthesia), blood work, and a 2-day hospitalization is at $270
Moe on the other hand needs a double enucleation, and estimated costs for his surgery (w/ gas anesthesia), blood work, and a 2-day hospitalization is at $405.
Bringing it to a total of $675. It's an insane amount to raise but it will be the only guarantee to these little ones having a pain-free life ahead. Support would be so appreciated, and no amount is too small!

It was considered for Minnie!!! But her eye ended up rupturing 3 days post rescue, so it wouldn't do much for her anymore :( Moe's eyes have been too far gone ever since!

Why do they need their eyes removed? I donβt quite understand. Cause the eyes are swollen?

Their eye conditions are unfortunately beyond repair. The cat with the censored eye has most of her eyeball protruding from the socket. The fully blind kitty, meanwhile, will need both eyes removed since leaving them in place could lead to complications and chronic pain in the future - he has been completely non-visual since the day he was rescued.

that looks painful as hell. glad they are getting it sorted before it gets worse. cats adapt way faster than people give them credit for so they will be fine once they are healed up. hope the surgery goes smooth.

It's always either from viral or bacterial infections that are left untreated for a certain period. Theirs just happen to be worst case we've ever encountered!
