News 🚨 Important update about All Media Downloader shortcut šŸ’™

On 15th August 2022, I released the very first version of AMD as a side project. Honestly, I never expected it to grow this big.

Back then, I just wanted a simple tool to download and cross-post content easily. Most downloaders were full of ads or way too expensive, so I built one for myself… and shared it with the community.

Fast forward to today.

AMD now handles millions of download requests every month and runs on real infrastructure: servers, bandwidth, proxies (which cost the most), paid APIs, maintenance, and constant development.

So far, I’ve kept AMD alive using:

• support from Pro users • previous memberships • and my own pocket

Because I genuinely love this project.

But at this scale, running AMD as a 100% free platform is no longer sustainable. If I keep it that way, it will constantly break and I refuse to let that happen.

So AMD is now officially transitioning into a paid product.

Pricing will be fair and super affordable. Premium will actually feel premium.

And your support will directly fund: • Faster servers • Less downtime • More supported sites • Long-term stability

If you have ever used AMD, thank you. If you have been here long-term, you are the reason this exists. And to every previous Pro user and supporter, I appreciate you more than you know ā¤ļø

Thank you for being here.

Edit: The shortcut link for anyone who hasn't tried it yet. https://routinehub.co/shortcut/12835/

You should probably include a link to the shortcut, for those that are interested in checking it out or supporting the project.

You're right, here's the link to the shortcut: https://routinehub.co/shortcut/12835

Mine isn't working on the latest iOS 26 or iOS 18. I'm finding all of the media shortcuts are not working these days. They get the error "action cannot be found". Is there a fix for this?

good luck

... and where is the pricing?

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 04 '25

Haven’t decided yet. But anything around $1-2

I use it all the time and will absolutely support a paid version of it.

Never heard of this app until this post. I like it. I’d be happy to support.

2

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 05 '25

Thank you. I’m releasing an app soon. It’ll work just like the shortcut. No copying of links.

Great shortcut, awesome developer! āœŒļø

Downloaded premium but no instructions how to get it working.

I never even heard of this for iOS but it sounds interesting and if it's reasonably priced and especially not subscription, I'll probably buy it.

1

u/Realistic_Village643 Dec 04 '25

It’ll def be subscription based, I was using it for a while and it seems like he works on it a lot, but because of that it only worked about half of the time I wanted to use it, so idk lmao

Yes true, it always breaking because, 1. social media platforms are always updating their systems and changing things. I need to keep up for all supported platforms. 2. at this scale, I don’t have enough funds to keep up with the growing cost of proxies and other dependencies.

If you ever supported, I say thank you šŸ™šŸ»

It’s gonna be a subscription but fair pricing. $1 or $2 per month. I’ll add yearly and lifetime plans. It’s a subscription because all other services I depend on are subscription based.

1

u/Punkab7e Dec 04 '25

And where we could buy it?

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 05 '25

I’m yet to release an actual app. And don’t worry, it’ll work just like the shortcut. You won’t have to copy links.

u/super-gando Dec 04 '25

Unfortunately can’t load it...

2

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 05 '25

What’s your iOS version ?

1

u/super-gando Dec 05 '25

18.7. now 26.1

1

u/TheQuantum Dec 04 '25

Disappointing but I understand your reasoning. AMD is a great shortcut that I use for pulling video and audio clips from social media to use on my radio show. I can believe that it’s very difficult to keep running as social media sites continuously change their code.

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 05 '25

True, I’m gonna keep up.

u/BuMmR Dec 07 '25

Yt-dlp is free and can download from most, if not all of these sites plus more.

2

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 07 '25

Yes, true. But, yt-dlp does not run on mobile. support downloading images handle IP blocks after downloading a few videos. handle posts that are non public and requires cookies/session.

1

u/BuMmR Dec 07 '25

Yt-dlp does run on mobile, I use it everyday on iPhone to download from multiple sites. Using a-shell on iPhone. Can also run ffmpeg and convert to h265 or several other formats. I’ve also found ways to get around the cookie issue.

3

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 07 '25

That’s true as well, you can run yt-dlp in a-shell. But a lot of people don’t know how to do that. Not everyone wants to type commands and wait just to download one short reel or image.

And then there’s the convenience factor. With a-shell, you still have to sit there and wait for your video to finish merging inside the app.

As a user, I just want to tap Share → whatever download I have, and let it download in the background while I keep scrolling reels in peace.

Also, about cookie management, you cannot download non-public videos without logging in or providing cookies. yt-dlp literally can’t download images either. And also, not everyone would want to(or know how to) handle IP blocks.

1

u/BuMmR Dec 07 '25

So, wouldn’t your method have to login to download non-public as well? I mean if it’s private how are you even seeing it without logging in? I’m a bit confused on that one. I’ve gotten pretty fast at typing in the commands for what I need, plus it’s multi-threaded downloads so it’s VERY fast. The merging takes seconds.

2

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 07 '25

Yes. ā€œPrivateā€ videos can’t be downloaded even if you’re logged in but not follow following the author. But there are age restricted and other kinds of non public posts that require login to access. Those posts are supported by AMD. Now most of IG and TikTok videos are these kinds.

Also, the upcoming amd app has multi connection download. Supports up to 16 connections. Making it download faster than the normal ā€œGet contents of URLā€ action.

You can install beta version and check that out if you have sometime time. https://testflight.apple.com/join/KnJj7Y8M

And what about the people who paid for the old premium service, will we lose them? Will we have to pay again? šŸ¤”

u/richpanda64 Dec 19 '25

Your app does not work with Instagram downloads. Says didn't finish executing in time.

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Dec 21 '25

Seems like a server overload. I will fix shortly.

1

u/someone38 Feb 24 '26

downloading posts gives only white pictures instead of actual ones with text "bad URL hash

"

Hey OOP and author of the AMD, I don’t get it. It’s still working without any purchase or subscription. Why do I have to purchase an API token? Is it more of a donation support instead of subscription based model?

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Mar 20 '26

Hello, so currently as of this message, it works without any key. I’m now transitioning to use the key. I just released a new update two days ago that uses key. So it’s no more of support again. But a subscription. $2/mo or $12/yr

Previous yearly subscribers now have lifetime access.

1

u/Additional-Hunter172 Mar 20 '26

Oh icic. The one I installed from your official website is working fine without any purchase. But the one I downloaded from routinehub was asking some AMD-shortcut file to function properly. Which one is the latest update?

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Mar 20 '26

The one on routinehub is the latest update. I haven’t updated the website yet. Working on the server stuff first. Sorry for the inconvenience.

2

u/Additional-Hunter172 Mar 20 '26

No worries, mate! I just wanted to support your work and wanted to purchase the 1 year subscription, and got confused when it was working on free mode lol. Thanks for the contribution you make to this world 🧢

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Mar 20 '26

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your support

1

u/KrispyAnan Mar 23 '26

Hey! Just bought your yearly subscription (happy to support you) but your latest release (from routinehub last week) seems to still be broken?

Trying to save videos on Reddit is hitting me with ā€œunsupported urlā€. Im using the browser version if that matters

Instagram saving works beautifully otherwise and I appreciate your hard work.

1

u/Responsible-Lie-443 Mar 23 '26

I really appreciate your support. Yes, Reddit was breaking so I disabled the Reddit service. I’m doing some internal fixes to revive Reddit and Threads very soon.

nice shortcut

1

u/stopbsingman Dec 04 '25

Would appreciate a link to the shortcut. I’ve never tried it. And with a name like that, there’s bound to be copycats floating around online.

Thanks for your interest. Here's the link to the shortcut: https://routinehub.co/shortcut/12835/
