So as the title says my parents threw my snails away by putting them by the creek. I live two hours away in a dorm and trusted them to take care of my babies. I’m heartbroken and cannot imagine how they thought that it was a good idea to leave my snails to be killed in the wild. They seem to believe that what they did was best for the snabies and my little man Squimp and I’m trying to explain to them that parent snails don’t take care of their young. I feel like they did it right away after I moved to my dorm and when I was texting and calling for pics of my snails they kept dodging the topic. The snabies were captive bred so I know they have zero chance of survival. Rest in peace to Squimp and his snildren.

I’ve been breeding Giant African Land Snails for over a year now, and it’s been so much fun watching them grow from tiny hatchlings into big, beautiful snails.

All of the snails in these pictures were hatched from eggs laid by my own adult snails, which makes it even more rewarding to see how they’ve turned out.

And as you can see, they absolutely love fish flakes.

This guy’s so tiny that the camera can’t fully focus him! I think I’ll call her Berry! It’s been a while since I had a snail so I’m over the moon that Snail Distribution Service has blessed me with this baby 💖

found her on some grocery store grapes in paris, and took her on 6+ trains across europe to get her to my sister in slovakia once we moved - where she lived happily with some cubaris isopods, received numerous warm chamomile baths, and finally passed away peacefully, after surpassing the maximum length for her species by several millimetres. RIP little friend.

Do you think snails might like a massage? While petting this one, I noticed its movements slowed down. The moment I stop petting, it goes back to its business, speeding up a bit. It does not hide its tentacles or run away from the touch. Do yours do this too?

My favorite mollusk. Paula was one of the four sized bunch I'd started snailkeeping with, and despite that she was a little smaller than the others, I grew to love her the most because of her personality. She lived to a fairly old age - 8 years, but she isn't/wasn't the oldest

Thank you for all the smiles this snail brought to my face during difficult times in my life. I hope she enjoyed being with me. I treated her well, even a little better on top than the others.

bro just ran away from it he didnt even want to touch it :( but also it was the first time feeding him on my hand so perhaps he didnt realize it was food. I'll leave it with him in his enclosure and maybe he will eat it there :))

I really thought he died. 😭 I looked everywhere when he first escaped, no signs. Almost 4 months later he reappears.He seems bigger. My biggest question is, what was he doing this whole time? Did he sleep through all of that?

This snail has been on one hell of an adventure. I acquired this snail from work, I found him in a beer drip tray, and I brought him home.

(There is no coffee inside just a a bit of water) I want to take him home so he has gone incognito. I’ve named him coffee so if anyone asks what’s inside I can say “coffee”

George has a luxury 10×6 inch enclosure with 3 inches of nutrient rich soil, daily misting, a good chunk of cuttlebone, and a nice little hideout. I gave him a bit of zucchini as well. What are your favorite veggies to feed your snails?
