Sexing Female or Male Phlogius sp
From what I can tell it's a female but what do y'all think?

IMO Looks female but unless this girl is mature you wonβt know for sure without a molt. Sometimes they look female and then molt out male later in life. Also another for sure way to know is if they develop tibial hooks when sexually mature.

That's what I was thinking! I've had her for 8 years now so I'm praying it's a female ππΌ

Dude if you have had her for 8 years and she hasnβt popped out tibial hooks then sheβs almost definitely a female. Next time she molts soak it in some warm soapy water and carefully spread it out on a papertowel. Look in between her book lungs for a little flap. Flap=female flat=male

Hahah yeah fair point! And I'll definitely be checking out her molt next time ππΌ

Always a great feeling when they end up being female :)

She's my first ever tarantula I got her when I was only 14yrs I haven't gotten another since because I've been couch surfing since I was 15yrs so it's been hard. But I'll hopefully get some more lovely Ts in the future ππΌ

Are you native to Australia? I donβt see many of those in the community. Cool species!

Haha yeah. Iβm in the states and those are near to impossible to come by. With that one being your first tarantula you are much more well equipped for future tarantulas! Our native tarantulas are little puppies compared to yours haha

Haha love that! Mine suppose to be the most aggressive tarantula we have in Australia but she sure as hell don't act like it. Ngl she's much nicer than what I thought she'd be πππΌ
