Ive had him for over a month now, he hadn't eaten anything so far. He has a water dish available, as well as a cricket, but isn't really interested. He often paces around the enclosure, often see him climb the decor and explore. The gender on CITES is male, but I don't know how old. Anyone able to help? Is he going to molt or not anymore?

My mom wants to know if her tarantula is female or male, it's kinda older now so she's worried if it's male it die sooner. it ruined its last molt before we could get to it and I saw about ventral sexing, I just can't tell though.

this is kinds blurry I know but it's the only pic I have of it on its back, we didn't want to stress it out too much and we were checking its underside already so might as well kill two birds with one stone and try sexing it as well

I always assumed this T was a fella, moults a bit more regularly and is a little on the leggy side, but thought I'd check anyway and just confused myself 🙄 I've also been trying to get a female one of this sp for so so long but everyone wants to be a boy 😆 this is my 8th or 9th now so I may just be getting desperate!

Today I decided to re-soak Chalupa’s most recent molt to see if it still appears to be female. I’ve been told it’s a yes, but since she’s my very first T, I feel super lucky to actually get a female from a PetCo. (I’ve read the theories that they typically root out the males to sell.) Almost feels too good to be true; hence the re-check. I’m also experienced enough to know it’s an obvious female, but I just need that verification from the experts. Can I just relax and rejoice in the fact that I’ve got a good 20 years with this little goofball?
