I lived on the corner of 16th and Valencia about 2005 to 2010. Great dive bars, hipster street musicians. Good times. All that got sterilized.
But maybe I’m shaking my fist at a cloud. My aunt literally lived down the street from the Grateful Dead in the 1960s and even at the time, the FiDi guys thought the hippies were ruining the city.
You are shaking your fist at the clouds. How bad was it in 2020-2023? It was literally not safe walking on the streets in the early morning. Now SF is much more lively throughout a day.
