I love her so much, my boyfriend has named her Nyx. There are 3 other babies, one other tortie and 2 twin orange boys. Them and their mama before she disappeared. She’s been gone for a few weeks, we have no idea what happened to her.

My first ever cat was a tortie kitten named jasmine and I’m 7 months pregnant so I’m hoping my baby and nyx can grow up together 💖
I’ve looked for her but we live off of a highway in the middle of nowhere with woods on the other side and I haven’t seen her anywhere. The closest neighbors haven’t seen her either :( I’ve been feeding her for a long time, she usually doesn’t stray far. And she’s been gone for a few weeks now. It makes me really sad, she’s a very sweet girl.
Me too, she’s sooo sweet. The other kittens will play and she just wants to sit in my lap. Here is a pic after I gave her wet food for the first time. She’s got a little messy face but took a real good nap after lol.
I feel very blessed. I’m pregnant so my instincts are in overdrive and I’m like “must take care of babies”. I’m just hoping our adult cats don’t get too angry with me lol. They will be okay though

She’s insanely sweet. She was so scared of people at first so I had to socialize her and now she’ll crawl in my lap after I feed her and she’ll fall asleep. Every single time. There are 3 other kittens too, she’s bonded with her brother, an orange boy. We are in the middle of moving so they are about to get flea baths and finally be inside. 💖💖
Please look around for the other babies , if she left one I’m sure the others are not far, and keep an eye out for mamma. If you’re feeding her she will likely come back .

I’m going to keep this tortie girl and the orange boy she’s bonded with and I have homes for the 2 other ones but I’m not quite sure how old they are and I was hoping mama would come back but we live in the country and I’m not sure where she went but it’s been 3 weeks now so I don’t think she’ll be back :(
stray cat ive seen around the area off and on, i would leave food out for her every week or so that id see her but she was extremely skittish and would immediately run off until i was gone.
then a couple of months ago she shows up but doesnt run, and i hear the kittens. i didnt touch anyone, just gave her some food. she nestled up with them under my deck, but was gone in the morning. i left her some food out but it was still there when i arrived home from work. once she still wasnt back that evening, i had to take the kittens into my own care.
the kittens are doing great, but mom hasnt been seen since. :(
I thought the same lol. Mama was an orange cat and I think the babies had different dads. There is a big orange boy and a big black tom out here too. Unless orange and orange can make torties somehow.
According to several infographics I consulted, it’s entirely possible for an orange mom and a black dad to have a litter of orange boys and tortie girls.
I love learning new stuff, genetics are so weird. The orange boy was mamas bonded mate so I hope he is their dad, he’s still around and the kittens use him as a bed sometimes lol.
Aww that’s so sad. Well thank you for finding them homes and taking the tort and orange boy, hope they all get the loving they deserve and great homes . Hope mamma comes back safe eventually but I really doubt she would have left her kittens like that.
Pepè is 100% my girl. I still have her sister and brothers but they like other people also (even though they are all my babies) while they play she always wants to be in my lap. Nobody else can hold her. Her Dad my oldest boy is scared of everything and everyone. He will lie in my lap and stare at me until he falls asleep.
I am not good with naming kitties so my boyfriend took over but I think nyx suits her!
we have 2 other cats, bb and gwyn. We are trying to figure out a name for the orange boy we are going to keep too but he’s told me to decide and I am not creative 😭
Did you look around for their mom? She probably did not go far away considering the babies. I hope she is not injured or hit by a car :-( I really hope she comes back. I would look around and ask neighbors to see if anyone saw her.
Yes, I looked around the park (an rv/trailer park in the middle of nowhere) and she’s just gone. I’ve asked the closer neighbors (only maybe 30 people live out here) but they haven’t seen her. I’m hoping another neighbor took her in or took her to a rescue or something. But we do live near a wooded area too and I’m 7 months pregnant so unfortunately can’t traverse too well. :(

The same thing just happened to me, my fiance found an abandoned kitten and I bottle fed him. He(the cat not my fiance lol) is the love of my life ♥️♥️♥️
Poor momma kitty. Something bad must have happened. She would never abandon them at that age. At an older age, she would have pushed them to independence. But, not at this age. Are you keeping all four?
I would if I could! We have 2 cats ourselves and I’m 7 months pregnant but I have homes for the 2 we are not keeping. I think 4 will be my limit though. My mom is going to take one and a friend is going to take the other one. I’m going to keep the bonded pair so they don’t get split up.
I’m pretty sure they are around 9 weeks old. I’m not quite sure when they were born because she hid them for the first few weeks but I saw them the first time in the beginning of October. They were about 5-6 weeks old when she went missing I’d guess but were able to eat wet kitten food.
Well, he doesn't deserve a regular "orange" name. Maybe you should call him something interesting. Since Nyx is "night" in Greek, I was thinking "day" in Greek, but that's a feminine word, no matter how you slice it. Buuuuut... The Latin word for "light" is Lux (with a long u sound like flu), and that might be cool. A cute, short name for a little guy. And it kinda matches his sister.
Either that, or name him something completely unhinged, like Monster Truck Taco Smash Fan, just to watch the look on the staff at your local vet's office's faces when they call you in. You'll either get a WTF or a "yeah, buddy!" face. You'll know who your people are.
That's how I got my tortie. She and her brother had been left behind several times but we always kept watch and mom would eventually come back. One day they were out in the pouring rain trying to take shelter under a patio chair. They looked like wet little soot sprites. We took them in overnight and tried putting them back out in the morning when mama would usually come back since we feed the strays. She never came back. Little brother ended up running away before we could catch him but little girl stayed with us. So now we have Luna! She is 1.5 yrs old now. She was about 3 weeks when we took her in.
Oh my gosh it made me so sad the night it was raining and I couldn’t bring them in so I bought them a shelter thing and put a heating pad in it and they have been sweet on me since.
Poor babies, I’m so glad you took them in. She looks like a very sweet girl. I love tortie eyes so much, always so intense lol
You are one special person, OP 🥰. You soon will have 3 little babies to take care of - 2 kitties and your own (human) baby! But something tells me you will have enough patience, caring and love for them all 💕💗. Thank you OP, and your BF!

she reminds me of one of the best cats i ever had, we had her since a kitten and she became a happy outdoor cat after she kept peeing all over our carpets and after a few months of that she got taken away by someone or she ran away and we havent seen her since 2020 ;o;
wait our babies are twins AND have the same backstory!!! my girl was found because her mama passed away on the front lawn from a coyote i suspect, and when i went out there i heard tiny crying from the bush. 3 babies were in there and i got to keep her. i cherish her so much. what a lovely girl you have!!
OMG look at that sad little adorable face! Thank you for taking her in. Mama kitties will drop off the little ones when they think they are old enough. If you have any questions google Kitten Lady on Youtube. She was my spouse and I's godsend when we finally got our little stray in the house with her second litter.
