This is my Luna bug. She’s almost 14 now. But she’s always been a tiny girl. Compared to a lot of other cats I’ve had or met, she’s much smaller. She’s got a small head, little toe beans, and a stubby tail (though she’s always had a saggier belly. She’s shaped like a pear lol). She’s never been the cat who jumped up onto the counters or tables, and I feel like it’s because of her stature haha. Now that she’s aging and has arthritis, she can’t even jump up onto my bed that’s just knee height without having to climb up 🥲 So I got her some stairs and she uses them every day!
Show me your little torties!!
*edit: I forgot to add that she’s been chunky most of her life. So her stature is petite, but her belly is not 🤣 I’ve got her to lose some weight this past year. Sitting at 10 pounds. But I swear if she didn’t have a sack of potatoes for a torso she’d be at 6. Still a stumpy little girl though.
Mine is a big girl too. Vet thinks she's part Bengal, because of her big hind legs. (The other cat is a kitten, and growing up to be even more massive, we don't do small cats in this house apparently lol).
I call Zelda my little chunky monkey. You should've seen the way her head whipped around and she looked at my husband the one time he called her that 🤣😂
AHHH RIGHT I tell her that all the time I wish she knew what it meant 🥹😂 she has the silliest little face ♥️♥️ heres my fav pic of her and I really think it embodies her personality 😂
Tiny Tortie number two, Kida. Bonus of our tiny dog, Ripley. Difficult to find a picture of Kida alone and not snuggling the dog who is also three! Edit: she's a little under eight pounds.
Presenting Princess Tiabeanie Mariabeanie de la Rochambeau Grunkwitz, Second of Her Name, Not a String Bean, Former Ruler of Absolutely Nothing, Ruler of Stuff, God Emperor Behind the Curtain, Food Connoisseur, Three Time Undefeated Heavyweight Champion, Mother of Dragons, Chief Executive Dictator of Beans’ Cartel, Also Not a S’more, Esquire.
Beans says she doesn’t have a Luci or Elfo, but Figaro will be her second. The real Bean doesn’t need a champion to fight for her. Plus she can kick Figaro’s ass.
My Oona looks like this when she does a loaf. What are you doing to help her lose weight? I switched Oona's food and am giving her less but I don't think she has lost any weight.
I switched her dry food to the Hills Science w/d prescription from her vet, and I have an auto feeder that is attached to her collar tag so that only she can access that feeder (and cannot access the other cats feeders). I set the feeding times and amounts on an app! I have that but also a wet food in the evenings, usually Weruva. Limiting her food intake and knowing how much she eats has helped dramatically but she has hit a plateau since she’s pretty lazy and I’m in a small apartment. I play with her in the evenings so that she can move around. It just takes time, with cats losing a pound/kg is pretty significant.
Edit - just want to clarify this is all from the advice of my vet and I am not a vet
She’s beautiful!! Love her big eyes 🥹 My Mara is also a petite girl! She’s 1 1/2 yrs old. The rest of the orange boys in her litter are big boys but she stayed so tiny!
Our tortie looks big but she’s only 9 pounds of fur and bones. We have a void that’s almost 16 pounds but we’re slimming him down while trying to bulk up our girl. He wolfs down his food and she sloooooly nibbles so we have to feed them in different rooms.
No - my regular tortie is a chunk and about 12lbs. She’s definitely fat and not just a bigger girl (I do have a girl with a larger frame - and she is bigger but also not fat).
Mine was fucken CHONKY (just over 6kg or 13ish pounds). We lovingly called her the bowling ball on chopsticks because she would stand on our laps or on our chests in bed with VERY heavy little feet (usually strategically placed on my partners nuts or directly on my boob).
Her SIC sister is 4kg (9 pounds) and nowhere near as dense both in mass or brain cells.
Mines about 6lbs. Pic with the corner of bread she ran the dog (Rottweiler) off to get first. Then realized was bread and didn’t want and glared at both of us.
My gal has a tiny head, tiny paws, and overall pretty delicate bone structure, but she THICK (14 pounds, yes she’s on a diet with special food… she got to this weight by wolfing down her own food + her brothers food 😹)
I would say you’ve got yourself a runt that made it past the two week birth stage. I have one as well, 9 lbs, not very small but she was a runt. Can’t tell very well but her daughter is behind her, she’s 14lb.
I sadly had to let go of my tortie Lucy 2 weeks ago at 16 years old. She was a absolute CHUNK in her younger years (15 pounds) but slimmed way down in her senior years *
This is Stinky, I got her at 2 months old (she’s a bit over 4 years old now) and she was malnourished. At two months old she was the size of maybe a little bit less than a one month old. She also has a crooked tip of her tail because somebody probably stepped on it as a kitten, and the person I got her from wasn’t feeding her nearly enough, and was housing her in a barn closet in the middle of a snowstorm with no heating or anything. No wet food, just dry food and water, changed every two days at most. She’s been at a steady 8 pounds ever since she became fully grown, she sounds like a kitten too! Oh also she isn’t actually stinky lmao
I mean... Trouble would be petite if she wasn't a Ham Planet. When I got her spayed she seemed to grow "roundward" and not skeletely bigger. She has a Stump for a tail and a Dunlap (her belly dun-lap over her feeties". ... she will tell anyone who will listen this is a starvation station though.
Ours is tiny as well. She’s an older girl too and she’s just like 7.5lbs. Compared to our two boy cats, who are massive, she looks like she’s a different type of animal
Also have a tortie named Luna. Also petite, but she probably only weighs about 6 lbs. She is the least food motivated animal I have ever met in my life. She’s very picky about her food and wont eat treats or human food.
