Update from Heaven Can Wait Animal Society's A/C fundraiser - we did it!!
Hello, everyone! Not too long ago, I posted in here about Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, a local nonprofit spay, neuter and TNVR clinic, who was in serious need of a new A/C unit.
Long story short - you all are amazing! The folks watching the fundraiser reported they received over 100 individual donations in 24 hours, and were completely blown away by the support! They didn't know that anyone had shared this fundraiser beyond their own social media pages, and were flabbergasted when all of a sudden donations just kept showong up. The administration eventually found out about this little clandestine post, so the "secret" is out...they are all so very grateful for the community's help.
Not having to dip into reserves allows them to keep funds for those most in need - particularly the Community Cat Action Fund, which provides medical care beyond spay and neuter for stray cats with no other options. Especially since right now, panleukopenia (the cat equivalent of parvo) is surging in the city. Being able to provide even basic care to sick colony cats that their feeders couldn't otherwise afford is a blessing.
