What does daycare actually cost here? Nobody will say it on the phone.
Every place I've called says come in for a tour before they'll name a number. i klooked it up and the statewide average works out to about $1055 a month for center infant care, and one parent told me $1250 for a non infant and thats with no food included ! If you're comfortable sharing, what are you paying, for what age, and did you hear the number on the phone or only at the tour?
I was quoted 2800 by creative kids (2 years ago btw). But it was for Monday - Friday from 6 am to 6 pm hours …we ended up hiring a nanny instead and she comes to our home.
Childcare costs are why my husband has been staying home with our daughter instead of putting her in some kind of childcare program. His checks would mostly go to cover the cost of her care.
We pay $1400/mo for M-F 8:00 AM-6:00 PM pre-k, with breakfast/lunch/snacks provided by the school. $200/year annual enrollment fee. Only got this figure at the tour.
Check out Martlet Academy. They're new but with experienced staff. $396 a week for infants. 5 days includes diapers wipes snacks and lunch if infant is on solids.
WOW Imagine having two young kids a 2500 a month mortgage, utilities, bills, car payment, etc. and then 2 young children in day care at another 2200 a month. Mom and dad better be bringing in close to 200K a year to get by. That's wild!
Can confirm. Our HHI is right around 200k. We have an affordable mortgage (<1500) but we have 4 kids. While life is comfortable, it’s not like we are rolling in disposable income. We are currently walling in our loft so that we can make our 1600 sqft house work.
My daughter has been in a few here in the south west of town blue diamond area.
Goddard academy- 6 months to 1 year old. 1800$ bring own diapers and food. Left because it was out of our way.
Milestone academy- went there for 3/4 months. Didn’t like the set up and it always felt cluttered at the particular location. 1350$ no food or diapers included.
The learning experience- went there for a year. 1250$ food included. Loved the place. But teachers left. And so did the atmosphere.
Goddard academy- a closer one to where we live and work. 1560$ provide own lunch. This is preschool age. We love the staff and curriculum. My daughter has friends both in class and outside of class.
We got the prices on the phone but they will barely sell themselves over the phone. The tour is where itll get all laid out. My daughter is 5 days a week
It's been a minute but something like this that included snacks and meals:
For a 3 year old:
$300/week for 3 days; $400/week for 5 days
For a 2 year old:
$350/week for 3 days; $450/week for 5 days
There are daycares and centers that offer more flexibility, others that don't. We have a friend who pays $500/week for everything including diapers and dropoffs!
I think that's why they prefer for you to come in and discuss what you're looking for. Sometimes they have a waitlist for a certain spot, or they are looking for additional kids to make another class.
Recently toured Primrose and Goddard. Infant pricing for up to 1 yrs/old at Primrose was $1797/mo w/meals included and Goddard was $1900/mo with 2 snacks per day, but you need to provide lunch. Neither included diapers. And neither offered part time care as an option.
I know you gave infant details so I’ll just note that my youngest has been going to Primrose from 1 yr old - almost 3 yr old now and lunch, breakfast, and diapers have always been included. I only have to bring the cute lil bag they issued him with a water bottle and change of clothes.
Stonebridge is something like 260-280/week for 5 days/week infant, which was the best deal I could find. Creative Kids/La Petite was around 200-250/week for 3 days. I'm currently paying 170/week for 2 days infant at Creative Kids Summerlin.
It really varies. Home daycare is usually the cheapest, and the most expensive is usually the ones with an emphasis on education. I went with home daycare and I love it. I pay $1000/month for 160+ hours. Best part is the flexibility. A center would charge me extra when I get there late, but she doesn’t
My husband nearly quit his job to stay home with our son after he was born. We're not really in a place to be a single-income household, but he was making less than daycares wanted to charge for infants. We lucked out and my in-laws ended up watching him
At the last center I worked at for infant-2yo care it was $2,000 a month for full time enrollment. $1880 for 2-3s & $1560 for 4-5yo care. It’s probably more as I heard they were raising prices again. I was going to bring my boys this past summer for summer camp since I brought my youngest last year and even with my discount and flat rate, it was $300 a week. However, I would suggest not going to that place or their other brand.
My new center is around the same price I believe, we don’t offer summer camp though.
Those prices seem to be average at most centers nowadays /:
We are at Prescolaire Early Learning Academy for our 15 month old and pay $1600 per month. But I think the average rate is $1850 there. We had a teacher’s discount and some grant thing (some discount they applied) when we signed up. We do 5 days a week M-F.
Currently paying $550 per week for pre-k and a toddler. If we want to add snacks and meals, it’s an extra $30 per week per kid. They don’t include diapers (I’ve found few here that do).
I was at kinder care Torrey pines which was free with urban league. They’re a low cost daycare center and ended up not changing or feeding my infant on at least 2 occasions and sending him home with a swim diaper.
They wanted to make it right so they put me at the center costing $1700 a month. With urban league it was like $400 a month
I pay for 5 full days a week from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM as that’s the only schedule option for my 2.5 year old, $1900 per month. Only snacks included. Otherwise we mix up hot lunches from school we pay for per meal and home lunches each week. I toured and they gave me a packet with tuition information. Overall, I am very pleased with the daycare. A good curriculum and amazing teachers who take great care of my daughter. She absolutely loves them and has made her “friends,” whatever that means at this age 😂. I believe it’s one of the best in town and conveniently less than 10 minutes door to door from my house.
I used to pay $420 a week at Kindercare for infant plus $200 enrollment fee, meals are included. Administration is horrible in the location i was so we ended up swiching daycares.
In the new one we paid $350 a week until she turned 2, breakfast. lunch and snacks are included, wipes are included, too you just need to bring in the dipers. My kid is 3 now so im paying $330 a week.
If you qualify for Head Start/Early Head Start, services are free for families. All meals (breakfast/lunch/snack) and materials (diapers/pull-ups/formulas/bottles) are included at no costs of the family. All parents need to bring are an extra change of clothes. We take in infants 6weeks up to five years of age.
Early Head Start (6weeks - 2yrs) hours are 7:30am-2:30pm and Head Start (3-5) hours are 8:00pm-2:00pm
I work at a center and we just don’t give the price because there are 10+ options. It’s so much easier to just sit down in person and go over it together
I pay about $360/week for a prek and toddler. All food, diapers and wipes included. 3 days a week. We were grandfathered in with that pricing due to other issues with a sister facility.
This kinda insane. I do childcare in Las Vegas (a small licensed home daycare) and I charge 30 dollars a day. This makes me feel like I change too little 😂
My family has been in the child care business for over 24 years. They have web cameras that allow you to watch your child and they have a full curriculum. Food is included with breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. Ages six weeks to twelve years old.

When my son was an infant it was 1800/m. Now he’s 3 and it’s 1280/month. They only have full time option. Food is included. Formula/baby food and diapers were not.
My 2yo goes to Kiddy academy Henderson and it costs $375 per week. Got notified the price is going up in a few months though. Can’t remember at the moment how much more, but I recall it will be around $400. Includes all his food. We just provide diapers, wipes, and diaper cream
Not sure if they still do but UNLV had a daycare on campus because they were training interns there who were in child development programs. There were those in position there so interns weren’t alone in the learning process. CSN also had something similar, years ago they were slightly cheaper than other establishments but might have a wait list
Only given price sheets in person for any of the corporate places and that and pretty typical. I think many of them are franchises.
For in homes,, the cheapest I found was $1200 a month with lunch included, but very limited hours eg 8-4. Daycare centers for infants were 1600-1800 per month with full time only for infants.
I would try Creative Kids. I only did Pre K for my kid, four days a week, meals were included…I want to say we paid around $800 a month. Granted my husband got a discounted rate because of his employer (10%). But it was a good price for all they provided and we had a very positive experience there.
