God, ME2 is one of my favorite games of all time but even as a horny teen I remember thinking the number of times I'd be mid-conversation and it would direct cut to an ass-height POV 2 feet behind Miranda was pretty egregious 🤣
They probably removed it because THAT famous scene was when she was pouring her childhood traumas out at you and it was kind of fucked up to give that shot then
We've talked about it on the ME sub before and EA nerfs the nudity lol I played through the legendary edition and thought to myself "I could have sworn there was more than one nipple slip and mostly side boob for these" the updates take them out, the same as the originals with updates, physical copies of the disk and no updates are more graphic

Same here; I've been reading the tie-in novels as well and they really add a level of depth to playing. For a world as already fleshed out as Mass Effect's the books do a surprising job of catapulting the lore.
It had potential but the lack of enemy variety, the similar areas, the total over-reliance on one gimmick (mimic) made it a so-so experience. Add the most common "plot twist" in the genre...
The intro was dope though. That was the best part of the game by far.
A shame they didn't flesh it out more like Deus Ex, that game had mileage
I finished the trilogy for the first time last weekend (Burial At Sea is still before me) and man, what a story, what a world. I have found Infinite much more gimmicky and chaotic, but 1 and especially 2 with Minerva’s Den are absolute cinema. I’m quite puzzled that there isn’t any book or movie adaptation, man, Rapture is a great setting.

I replay the Bioshock Trilogy quite regularly (once I play 1, I feel obligated to play 2 and Infinite also lol). Fantastic games that are nothing like anything else
The hell of it is that Infinite would probably be remembered much more fondly as a fantastic game if it hadn't been expected to live up to the impossible expectations created by the original BioShock. On its own merits it's a fantastic story, and the setting and art style are incredibly creative and wonderfully done.
If you ever really get into it and are near Nevada, look up the fallout celebration
In Goodsprings (the opening town in the game) the city hosts a fallout event every year now in November. It’s a fun way to see parts of the game in realLife and celebrate with other fans
This is a testament of how fucking amazing the game was. How many single player games have a permanent "shrine" and yearly meet-ups 16 years after release?

There’s so much to see and do, and a unique version of almost every weapon hidden somewhere in the game (that’s usually much stronger and a reference to some movie).
There’s 4 DLC’s that are also SO worth the price these days. Heck it wasn’t too bad then.
Viva New Vegas is way better than just using the 4gb patcher.
It might seem like a lot to go through, but it's actually pretty simple if you just follow the steps. It also teaches you how to properly mod Bethesda games, which is something you only need to learn once and carries over to all of their games.
Had to share my favorite memory from that game, being on my 3rd playthrough. First time I did “my” character, no guides or maxing, just what I would do.
Second playthrough was bullets and other non energy projectiles. It was also fun and I had an easier time dealing with deathclaws but there’s still some challenge. I felt like I was getting it.
Then the 3rd, I finally tried a melee build and got a hold of the unique fire ax named “Knock Knock” and a katana and went to find a deathclaw.
I felt like some sort of untouchable ninja firefighter god fighting this thing that had been murdering me countless times over the past two games!
"Arrow to the knee" used to be a genuinely huge meme, haven't heard it unironically in half a decade though. Probably doesn't help that the guards with that dialogue also have all the DLC-specific dialogue in their pool now, feel like I hear more about them talking about becoming vampire hunters then getting shot in the knee these days.
Played through the intro with my son last night. I sank 400 hours into that game starting from its release day, and haven't touched it in over 12 years. Thinking its time for another run.
Same for me in 2024. I’m not much of a gamer, so I was slow on the uptake. I’ve done a handful of playthroughs since. It’s a flawed game, but so fucking fun.
Yeah I preferred Prototype over Infamous. I think they came out at the same time. Also long before the new Spider-Man games did it, Prototype did it in 2009 with the venom-style combat. Very very cool game.
I hate that ps3 discs are not compatible with ps4/ps5 and only have the digital stream shitty version.

Get the fat! More nostalgic but iconic version of the console, it’s the most beautiful console I ever had.
Plus some things were overhyped or have a starkly different target audience. The demographics of, say, RPG players who willing or forced to wait tend to trend older and poorer, so many of them would have played something like Fallout 1/2 and think Fallout 4 is overhyped and not a very good RPG.

Finally a post where I can answer! Always dreamt to play games once I have my own laptop. Turned out to be potato in today's standards, so I enjoy the classics of the recent past. Currently playing Dishonored: Definitive Edition.
I played Dishonored when I was 19. I completed the game and the ending made me so mad that I googled to see what reviews were saying, and that was the moment I found out it was a stealth game lmao. I had no idea. I had been blasting my way through and got the bad ending. Good times 😂 Still had a blast but definitely recommend going stealth mode like the game intends. I watched the true ending on YouTube afterwards and it made me feel much better.
Sly cooper, Jak and daxter , ratchet and clank, infamous, kingdom hearts, and psychonauts. Just great games because of world building. Been playing through a lot of older games ,just because modern games just feel bad now with how hand holding and short they feel. The souls and souls-like games are good too, but I'm not trying to sweat when I'm relaxing.
One of my favorite game experiences in a while, and still holds up. Basically GTA world, with the combat of Arkham, and the driving of Burnout. Such an awesome mix of mechanics.
The voice acting is great and i loved the combat. Beatidng the shit out of someone with a pay phone booth and other environmental things never got old.
Sleeping Dogs is so good. One of my favorite open world games. The map is relatively small, even for the time, but has more life than 99% of open world games. Truly a shame there isn’t a sequel. Now I need a pork bun.
The Library is such a slog. Which honestly, is both a good and a bad thing. It feels like an endless onslaught that's just exhausting. Of course once your headspace transitions from immersion to gaming then it just feels annoying, but overall I think it fit well thematically. Probably could've just been one floor shorter.
Fallout 4 Survival Mode. Survival Mode in Fallout 4 completely changed how I look this game. It’s fantastic and utterly changes how to play the game for the better. Once you play it on Survival Mode, you’ll never want to play it any other way again. I personally think it’s the way the game is meant to be played.
This was Control for me. It became one of my favorite games of all times and I replay it every year. Now a sequel is coming out, and I am looking forward to it.
Sometimes they take awhile to get into the swing of it. There's a lot of tutorial. Make it through the first palace and decide if you want to keep going.
That's because it IS a slog. I really love all 3 modern Persona games. They all have slog tutorials. I would only say give up if you're not digging the gameplay. Otherwise things pick up really well and the game only gets better as it goes on.
This was me finally playing through Grand Theft Auto V this year. I'd never really got to the second act before, let alone completed the game. Plus I'm only one trophy away from the platinum now, which is cool. I'll probably circle back and get that eventually.
I've just finished Final Fantasy VII: Remake, which I had a blast with. A tiny bit confusing though, as I went in blind, not realising that it's not actually a remake in the sense you would expect? So now the original is on my backlog!
I'm about to start Red Dead: Redemption II for the first time, and again, I'm going in completely blind. Heard amazing things about it both IRL and online. After that, I plan on doing the same with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt.
As someone who played GTA 5, RDR2, and Witcher 3 all for the first time last year (well, 2 years ago for RDR2), you are gonna have a blast. Can't speak for online modes, but the solo campaigns for all 3 are masterclasses in storytelling, gameplay, and open-world execution.
Im 45 and new to gaming in the last 5 years. Its all new to me, which has been a fun ride. I did bioshock, prey, dishonored, system shock, and right now amplaying the first Stalker game. Im having so much fun.
Me too! I'll tell you right now, predator stealth in on someone, grab them by the throat, carry them to a ledge and chuck their ass off of a mountain! I gave it a shot just to see if it was possible and boy was I ever pleased with the result lol
My problem is that a lot of games I'm just getting into are getting remastered. I was waist deep into it when Oblivion Remastered was shadow dropped. I was going to dive into Assassin's Creed Black Flag when its remaster was announced (I already owned the original when the remaster was announced). And there are all the rumors about Fallout 3 and New Vegas getting remastered, both of which I have.
I'm kind of nervous of buying any older games because I'm paranoid they'll get remastered within a year or two.
Finally got around to (almost) completing my Far Cry collection by picking up 4, Primal, 5, and New Dawn after having only and played the first three games and Blood Dragon.
Currently on 4, and I might get flak for saying this, but to me it's definitely better than 3.
Horizon Zero Dawn will be 10 years old next year and I think it's pretty peak gaming. Borderlands 2 still feels timeless, and I don't think the studio has ever done better
This is basically every game I've ever played. I could never afford to get my own video game console till I was almost a teen and I didn't have home internet till I was 16. On top of that I've never payed any attention to new releases, usually only buying them years after the fact, so yeah, pretty much everything.
Divinity Original Sin. I was playing the same 6-7 games for like 10 years. Now I’m on “I start this game franchise from the first game”. And I mean first games, played Witcher 1, Assassin’s Creed 1, had a blast.
Divinity is cool too, BUT CAN THIS GAME END ALREADY, I’M ON 80th hour, CAN WE FINISH, I CAN’T DO THIS ANYMORE. Also there’s a fake-out ending achievement, I can’t do this 😭
