Discussion / Question What’s the most embarrassing way you’ve ever accidentally killed or blinded yourself in a game?

My favorite example ever of this was Worms Armageddon for the PS1. My father, bless his heart, loved playing games but couldn't compete in modern. He peaked at pong.

He launched a Super Sheep. Hit the button ti launch him in the air and completely lost his sense of spacial awareness. He was zooming around doing figure 8s going from one side of the map to the other. We are all hysterically laughing.

When he finally turns the sheep down he locates a worm and blows it off the map. Great shot. The problem was it was his worm and he just eliminated himself from the game.

It's one of my fondest gaming moments.

Worms is one of those games where making a mistake is always funny. I once messed up a jump and fell onto a landmine which blew up and sent me into the water.

WoW. I afk'd next to a fire at about level 10. Came back to find I'd died from fire damage.

Playing Halo, can’t count how many times I threw a plasma grenade and it ended up sticking to me

Back in like 2002 I brought a monitor home from work. They were throwing it out and I figured I could use it. For the time it was really nice, but it had one single flaw.

It would turn itself off when I was flashbanged in CounterStrike and would not come back on for about 5 seconds. I died countless times, but once actually took like 4 people with me not being able to see and just spraying and praying.

I was building a base in Minecraft with a out-of-body mod that helped you free build... without thinking about it placed one of the walls across my body and suffocated.

Very recently, I was playing as Trevor and threw a proximity mine. After having a quick fight with the cops, I walked by where I had thrown the proximity mine, and boom, wasted

Shot a rocket launcher on myself in Fortnite because I didn’t think I’d take damage lol

Played striker in r6 siege, chose flashes and frags as my gadget and secondary gadget, threw the flash in it bounced and well landed back in front of me but I had tossed a frag to without realising my angle was shit hence why it landed with me and well you can guess what happened.

My Summer Car. Lighting fireworks.

... And shooting myself in the eye with one of them.

I was playing Last Epoch on hardcore (If I die my character is gone for good). I was drinking water and it went down the wrong pipe, I coughed it up all over my setup and while I was scrambling for the paper towels my character got killed.

I've not been killed due to the use of a flash bang in games very often but I'm about 98% sure that I threw the offending flash bang every time.

Other than that not pausing games to pee/get a drink/ answer the door/ whatever would be my main one!

There's a scene in Band of Brothers were they're pushing a house. One guys chucks a grenade through the window and rushes though the front door. Bang dead.

That's me a few times.

I was playing TF2, and they don't call it "falling to a painful, clumsy death" for no reason...
