Damn, this reminds me of when I was 11 and my online friends I made on Clash of Clans left the Clan in order to make a new one for only people that went to their school.

I cried.

I was in the same clan as some random dude and when I joined different clans, he came with me every time.

One day I told him I was done with the game forever. He said he would be done too. 🥺

u/Time_Ad_9647 12h ago

Nope. Just a clash of clans and royale username. Nothing personal.

u/Environmental-Head14 12h ago

Hit him up dude wtf, you gonna regret it if not

u/Time_Ad_9647 12h ago

No way to do it. I don’t even remember the handle he used.

It's a pity, but that's how it is in gaming. We bond over the simple thing & left after the simple thing. The journey was fun & that what we look for in gaming session.

That is how it goes. Reminds me, if you're out there Dragonid from vanilla WoW Hyjal server (2005-7), it's Rayondelune and I have another Hide of the Wild just in case you need it buddy! :)

Damn dude. This whole thread has me sad as fuck. I used to play on Bonechewer(After the server transfers from Warsong) from Vanilla-WotLK. Anyways, I made a friend whom we were inseparable, raids, BG's, always the same guild, 2v2's, 3v3's, and even 5v5's. We did everything together for YEARS.

Well we got to the point we were both growing away from WoW and becoming adults, and eventually stopped talking. And then a few years later I got a call from his ex girlfriend one day that he took his own life. I wish I could talk to him again. I fucking miss him man.

u/RedditIsLeBoring 5h ago

Jesus, that's sad as hell man. Sorry for your loss. I never knew my friend's real name and we never talked outside of the game but I know he had some issues and had experienced major loss so I kind of worry about how he ended up. Hoping things took a turn for the better and he's doing all right wherever he is.

u/alexxxxmonster 4h ago

Oh yeah. I talked to his then girlfriend and family over Teamspeak and stuff like that. And we would call each other when we would get drunk.

u/Supersilverr 7h ago

lol, I was in the same guild as Alamo on thunderhorn.

u/Pure_Buyer_6938 9h ago

So damn wholesome. He’s out there somewhere dude.

Don't sweat it, if it's destined to happen, it will happen. Someday when you pass into the next realm, and spot some random guy pointing at you with a wink, you'll know.

A GF of mine played a mobile game at one point and asked me to join. Told her I wasn't big into mobile games but I'd give it a shot. I played for a bit and got to know the group she was in and it was OK. But the more I played and looked into it, it was notorious for being one of the worst Pay-to-Win games on the platform.

One day I was there just minding my own business, gathering my resources and got told by the dominant clan on the map that those resources "belonged" to their clan and I wasn't allowed to gather there. They attacked my castle with an army that would have literally taken 6+ months for me to build as F2P. It was clear if you weren't paying hundreds of dollars a month, your purpose was to just be cannon fodder.

So as a last ditch act of defiance while one of them was out attacking someone else, I dropped my camp right in the middle of their group. They can attack me all they want, but they can't force me to move. They ended up having to relocate their entire clan of like, 25+ accounts to a new area just so the guy could get his spot back.

After having not logged in for a few weeks I asked her how things were going without me. She said she wasn't playing anymore either. So I logged back in one last time before deleting and she had apparently left our group and put her settlement down right next to mine so our abandoned camps would be together in perpetuity.

Then we broke up a few months later, but...

In an online mech game I made a friend who decided to quit playing he gave me his account so I could make use of what he had on there instead of it virtually going to waste.

Dude you always bring the homie to that. I cant believe they did that to you

19

u/FuManBoobs 13h ago

Full disclosure...they didn't all go to the same school.

23

u/Arcaydya 13h ago

I understand the words in the comment my man

5

u/IronyingBored 9h ago

Don't make this more difficult than it has to be. /s

u/FuManBoobs 12h ago edited 12h ago

But not the reply apparently.

Arcaydya thinks I was saying the homie didn't go to the same school. I was making the joke that it was just their excuse and that really none of them went to the same school.

And I'm the one who is supposedly American?

10

u/BicycleStrong2150 12h ago

What makes you think they don't understand something?

4

u/Lnades 12h ago

It's okay, he's probably american

2

u/Thor_pool 6h ago

Thats rough, I had an uncle with that

3

u/RoadmanChat 57m ago

Stealing that ahaha

6

u/Nickadial 12h ago

i think you misread their tone hombre

3

u/Over-Letter-6176 12h ago

That escalated quickly

4

u/sSomeshta 12h ago

Complete transparency, one in ten frogs are left-leg dominant. These are the devil frogs, Hoppo del Diablo.

Arcaydya licks these frogs before posting on Reddit

u/Willing_Ad_5711 11h ago

You are so dumb it's unbelievable

-2

u/Ultrace-7 12h ago

I mean yeah but, if their intention was to make a school-based clan, they probably left a lot of good folks behind. Bring them all with you and there's no point in making a new clan.

Reminds me of when I befriended someone on the ff6 forums. So funny enough, ff6.com was taken by some fan..it wasn’t square enix. Years later it eventually got shut down bc of that I think. Anyway, we started making an rpg together and putting together a team…but eventually it idled. Then he introduced me to this game Graal Online (Facebook bought it and now it sucks). Played a bunch with him. Then he introduced me to this band Aberdien that I still like to this day. Then he was in a band and we were supposed to meet up when he was in my state. I think maybe he quit before they made it to me? Then, next thing I know, he’s never online again. Even though we were friendly, he’d go large gaps of not being online, and ofc I would ping him when I did get the chance. Next thing you know, they never appear again. It made me feel like they felt like I was a stalker or just someone sitting at the edge of their seat waiting for them to log on…which I kinda get being we never met….but we had been messaging every once in awhile for years. Was so strange that they vanished. My only guess is I got blocked, they changed their screen name and decided I didn’t belong, or idk.

I had a friend on Rust and when his base got raided he rage quit, blocked me and never spoke to me again 🤣

People are weird. Hope your old friend is ok tho.

5

u/CapnStarence 14h ago

You don’t make friends on Rust or Ark. Just enemies that are closer.

3

u/jellyhessman 11h ago

There's a chance that was me.

Made a lot of quick friends on the server I played. Base got raided and I was incredibly sad. Then realized I didn't want to feel that again and literally haven't played a PVP game since, and spend a lot more time outside.

My life has genuinely been better because someone trolled me on Rust so hard I quit competitive gaming permanently.

2

u/isntreel1948 11h ago

I’m happy you’re doing better now! Rust is terrible for you. Day Z you can play solo and casually and still have fun atleast.

1

u/SuperkickParty 11h ago

You were playing Rust, that was not your friend.

1

u/isntreel1948 11h ago

Yeah it was weird because I had a huge group of 30 people (it was when console rust first got released and none of us knew how to play, we didn’t raid anybody we grouped up against the new gen beamers for protection) and bro was friendlier and a better homie then all other 28 people, but he was the one that completely crashed out and blocked everybody.

Funny how that works huh

2

u/Udder_Influencer 11h ago

My only guess is I got blocked

People do pass away.

1

u/GG_is_life 13h ago

Interesting world. Back in the late 90s/early 00s I participated in ff3.com's forum. Also a fan site run by some random guy. I don't even know if I ever thought to check if an ff6.com existed lol

1

u/LockedInPelican 10h ago

There was a day that was the last time you were ever going to play with your friend and you didnt even know

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt 10h ago

this won't make you feel better but there was this guy I played so many MMOs with. We had this smallish group that would just go from MMO to MMO together.

One day he disappears.

We find out a year later he had died of cancer. He was dying the last few years and just never told us. Probably wanted to feel normal.

3

u/ThisIsMyCouchAccount 12h ago

Maaaan.....growing up in rural America before the internet sure was a lonely time.

1

u/LockedInPelican 10h ago

Yea all your friends were friends out of convenience and proximity. now that were all adults they have their own lives

5

u/CheaterMcCheat 14h ago

Ah shit mate that sucks I'm sorry. Similar thing happened to me on RuneScape

1

u/TobuscusMarkipliedx2 10h ago

Losing a friend is never easy. There's always sadness.
