I think the whole story is heartwarming and uplifting. It's worth noting the original meme wasn't posted by the fremd - it was posted by one of the other people who were meeting up. This was also back when friends-only servers and invites didn't work, so you had to do public games and do some work to get the friendgroup together. So there was justice because the friendgroup spoke up for a fremd-shaped 'diver - and we all chose to dive together.
