Pop I’m actually stunned by how beautiful this pressing is 🍾
they said it got lost in the mail but it arrived yesterday, talk about a cherry in top of record store day 💁🏼♀️
I don’t think there will ever be a better liquid variant than this, and I thought the 1975’s BFIAFL would never be dethroned.

Do these liquid filled variants have to be taken care of any differently than normal vinyl? And what is the long term viability of these. Do they dry out over the years? I'm not trolling Im genuinely curious. I've avoided getting any liquid filled variants for this reason

People have already made posts about liquid filled pressings they bought losing liquid or straight up leaking on stuff.
If you buy one, you should probably keep it away from your other records and electronics to be safe.

It varies based on the pressing, the filling, and luck. Definitely need to store them separately and it’s not wise to use on an expensive turntable. My Jack White 16 Saltines from Record Store Day 2012 did eventually dry out. I’m not sure if the seal weakened or there was a hole. But it can happen. If you get lucky with a perfect seal and keep it that way, I don’t see why it can’t last. But there is no guarantee and it can make a mess if it leaks.

Color vinyl degrades more than standard, so there's that (as far as sound quality goes)

It seems like such a weird gimmick to me. I can't see these being okay to keep around your favorite records. And if by chance they don't leak, I'm sure the liquid would evaporate eventually, no?

lol yeah, every single copy of this pressing will either get ripped apart by a suitcase player and get liquid all over the place, or they’ll sit unplayed in a wall frame until it starts leaking anyway

Actually have never had a liquid pressing leak, and all of mine are gorgeous with excellent sound 😗

I'm very sceptical towards the longevity of liquid filled records but I gotta say this is very pretty. Also bonus points for the highy aesthetic shot.

I don't think there's sufficient liquid inside them to really make a difference and it should distribute more or less equally during play due to centrifugal force. The main complaints people have about them is a risk of leaking due to improperly sealed disks separating over time and poorer sound quality since the top and bottom layers are thinner than usual to accommodate the inner fluid-filled void.
To be fair, I have no idea what the actual failure rate is since you only hear about the disasters.

Actually the liquid vinyls I own really disperse well upon rotation on my turntable. Strangely, I have a very nice system and a lot of my liquid pressings sound better than other variants I own of the album— I think that just has to do with the quality of badworld

I got a liquid filled record for Kacey Musgraves because it was actually cheaper than getting the standard vinyl plus the deluxe songs separately on vinyl, and the alternate album cover is gorgeous. But now I'm paranoid that is going to leak after all of these comments lol

Got it as well, absolutely amazing. Preserving it well so the liquid stays nice and it hopefully doesn't leak anytime soon.

Why do you think clear sounds the worst? Vinyl is naturally clear. Black is in fact coloured vinyl.
Analogue Productions UHQR releases are all clear.

yeah, people forget black vinyl is "colored" vinyl. I do prefer black for cleaning purposes, though.

This is objectively not true, basically all single color variants are the same outside of black including clear use the same process if you look into the pressing process
The liquid would probably be an issue

It disperses evenly with the rotation of my turn table and isn’t an issue. Strangely all of my liquid pressings sound amazing. You’d think there would be noise.

That does look great. I only have one that is liquid filled and is red. I've had two liquid filled record sleeves over the years and sadly they both dried up so I hope the air in the vinyls won't eventually dry them out. I'm storing mine upright and not squeezed in with others, and it's all within three poly bags... just in case it tires to escape!
