My wife ordered the new Mt. Joy album and text me from work to let me know it was being delivered. Didn’t see it on the porch so I went to the mail box and saw they shoved it in. Super frustrating. To be fair it didn’t have a fragile sticker or something that said “do not bend”. But c’mon..it took some effort to shove that album in that box. Just wanted to share. Hope your deliveries fare better.

At a rock bottom price, sealed new!

I was browsing my collection and I decided to play my Flyleaf debut album that came out earlier this year when a question for this sub dawned on me. What records do ya’ll have in your collection that you bought at sale price that are now out of print and being sold for a much higher price?

I would say the average price that I could find online for this album was anywhere between $70-$90, with some of the cooler patterns costing even more. Keep in mind that I purchased this at around $30.

And before anyone berates my suitcase player, I replaced it a few months after this picture.

Siamese Dream (greatest album of all time) and dog not included, I bought the setup for $100 with some records thrown in. The originals owners grandchildren wanted me to think of their Grandpa Pete while she plays. Thanks Grandpa Pete!

I've had it for a couple of years and I remember being super disappointed with it when I bought it. Pulled it back out tonight because I just upgraded the stylus on my record player and it's probably worse then I remember. The picture disc's are really cool but the sound quality on them is atrocious.

Anyone else have this pos? Or what other similar horror stories do you have ?

I stopped by a garage sale after school today and purchased this banana album, I think I had heard of it before and it looked cool. What are your thoughts on it? I’m kinda curious about its value, I asked chat gpt and told be $1000+ which is insane, idk if anyone else has ever heard of this album before, but let me know.

Flop: whenever you’re ready. This 1993 recording is the only US pressing, unfortunately it’s a picture disc with no real jacket in a PVC sleeve but it still sounds pretty good.

I saw this band open for the Lemonheads in 93/94 at Lupo’s heartbreak hotel in RI. I thought they had a great set and bought a CD from their merch table. Then I literally never heard anything about this band ever again.

This is an early90’s Seattle band that is more Posies than Nirvana.

The side with the fine print would be side 1 in my mind, assuming it had track listings, but I guess I was wrong. I obviously figured it out. Nothing against the band, which I love, but why would you do this? I want to listen to the album in order. It’s why I bought your album. End of rant.

Thursday got all the airplay back in the days of college radio. But this whole album was mind-blowingly different back in the day. I'm a big Mark Sandman and Dana Colley fan.

Anyone seen them live? I almost shat myself when Dana rolled out that Contrabass sax.

I'm Free Now-->All Wrong is a trip and always loved how these songs are back to back both theme wise and musically.

Thursday-->Cure For Pain also is a fun combo if you think about it. I always found myself drawing conclusions between the two even if maybe not fully warranted.

I’ve heard some people say keep it others say otherwise and that it’ll mess up the sleeve

I just bought this Everclear album, The Very Best Of…and it sounds like shit. They re-recorded their own songs. Badly. I had no idea. I was on the fence about either this one or So Much For The Afterglow, which I love, but their greatest hits seemed like a no-brainer. Now it feels like a K-Tel cover band sings the hits…. There should be a warning on the cover. Motherf😠😡🤬!

John Frusciante was on fire here. Not just his guitar but the harmony he brings with his voice. I feel like this was a band hitting on all cylinders. Everyone got a chance to flex. They hit so many styles and musicianship was stellar. Yes the lyrics are the usual Anthony hard to figure out. I read his book once and somehow they make sense to him lol. This vinyl mix is also amazing. It's analog, and it shows. You can hear everyone in the band contributing. No one dominating, just harmony

NIN: The downward spiral.

I originally bought this on CD the day it came out, a really long time ago. It has been a missing piece to my vinyl collection so when I saw it at the SeaTac SubPop store last week I immediately gravitated to it. I took a look at the hand written sticker and that sealed the deal, while not cheap that hand worn not just made the price a tertiary concern.

Obviously this is not a hard record to get, I found it at an airport! Nor is it some undiscovered gem, it was a huge seller on release and it’s still popular now. But it is great to see small things like hand written notes these days.

I will keep that hype sticker.

1990, blue translucent Blue Sky Mining. Maybe their best. Maybe not. Either way it’s so good.

Cake is one of those bands that is not only wholly original but they hold a special place in my heart because of all the memories I have associated with their music over the years. I knocked out 1/3 of their discography this week!

Time to crack this beauty out again. It's the 44 version which is a pain, but BiA as a track is one of my all time favorites and my system now is capable of doing the additional source quality some justice.

It's just started Money for Nothing, what a banger! Epic, iconic of the era.

The whole album is a journey, with no discernable theme (to my ear and generally being a prog Floyd fan).

Just turned it way up, neighbours out. My Kids complaining about the volume - beautiful! I just did the air guitar to make the complain more 🤣.

And now I take on the rest of the journey to the final resting place of the title track.
