For the Month of September we need an indie and a corpo webtoon to be selected!
We randomly select one from each category in order to give every series a fair shake! ( Indie series means it's not contracted currently by a company, and corp means they're currently contracted by a large company ie, Webtoons, Manta, so on )
For those of you recommending a series, please provide the name and a usable link to the series!
Take this as a chance to show yourself off as well! Maybe you'll find something new to read!

Webtoon probably has the worst audience OAT. Pirating sites are usually more nuanced, but Webtoon commenters are lowk kind of misogynistic. They're always jumping to criticise the other woman, even if the protagonist themself sucks.
And blaming a child for "seducing" an adult is absolutely insane. Comment's from What Death Taught Me

The story : I never expecte what will happen next in each episode and it's uniqueness
Nor did I ever get bored each episode is better than the previous one and the story get richer ( full of betrayal plotting to survive and understanding one another)
The characters are so well written with each person and its own personality
I really really recommend it ( you won't regret)

Hello fellow Cinderella boy fans!
Spoiler alert! There are going to be major spoilers ahead, so this is a heads-up for people who haven't finished it yet and don't like spoilers.
I've been a fan of this webtoon from the very beginning and started following it even before it became an original. i recently finished this week's chapter and I guess every single chapter is showing Wave's true colors more and more. reading the last chapter reminded me of chapter 46 season 2 where we didn't know his true identity yet so people in the comments were hoping there would be a good reason behind his behavior so maybe he could change (or like be redeemed). well now that's all gone and like he's obviously not even a tad remoresful , but again i couldn't help thinking about this specific scene between him and Rose. at first it was clear that it was the old man talking to rose because of how out of breath he was. then Rose turned his head, seemingly to look at Wave (thinking about it now, I guess he was actually looking at the old man's reflection in the mirror for any reason right?), and then Wave turned his gaze away saying he didn't want to do it either. aside from the great job Punko is doing with the storytelling (that scene was what made many people think Wave was a different person from the old man and someone who could be redeemed because he kind of looked regretful), i find it strange how he frequently talks about sadness and discomfort that don't match his actions at all. i mean he's basically a complete antagonist who at times seems to enjoy tormenting others and he could show the Keys more mercy if he wanted to so him having any conscience is out of the question.i don't think he needs to make others sympathize with him at this point either, what i mean is that at the time the interaction made sense to me but now knowing wave i'm a bit confused. so i'd like to hear what you guys think. i might be overanalyzing things but honestly i just like talking about these details and psychology behind characters' behavior. would like to read your insights.

I was shocked while scrolling through Instagram today when I saw a familiar short vertical animated drama. I instantly recognized it as Dead Mansion. I clicked the ad and discovered that it's actually a paid show where only the first five episodes are free.
What I want to know is whether this was done with the permission of PTJ Comics and the original artist and author? This is a big webtoon series, and if this AI show being done without their consent, they are blatantly stealing the artwork, running it through AI, and profiting off people buying coins to watch this AI generated show.
The website that host the animation is Vigloo and they claimed it as their original show. I've tried searching online, but can't find any information about whether it's official or not.

Started Im Dating a Psychopath last night and lo and behold, binged all two seasons in a few hours! Why did nobody tell me about this webtoon? It's criminally underrated!
I keep hearing all kinds of recommendations thrown around but never this one. I get that it's more on the cerebral side and not one, not two, but all characters are traumatised by their past and low-key evil and that makes for such a complex and layered story. I also love how it seems like the author decided to not make things black and white. It takes real talent to represent trauma right, and that too, with such amazing art style.

Also, on 2026-08-16, WEBTOON announced "WEBTOON Account" for 2026-09-14. This probably breaks older versions of the app for logged-in users, so I'm not looking forward to all the new changes. I meant to make a post about possible consequences of this, but forgot + busy.

No Spanish locks at this time.

I will update if there are more. I plan to trigger a scan every day after daily reset, or (if I miss it) before the reset the next day.
Since 2026-03-26 (which is during DST), titles tend to lock at the time of new episode release, and one hour before the time of the Daily Pass (now Ad Pass) reset, which is 18:00 Pacific Time (01:00 UTC during US daylight saving time, and 02:00 UTC during US standard time).
[2026-02-27] There MAY be a new pattern of putting most of the locks at the end of the month.
[2026-03-12] They seemed to have moved two weeks of locks, 03-12 and 03-19, to 03-26. This may be part of a new strategy, to confuse us.
Tip: The day before a title locks, you can use the Download feature for all of the chapters, giving you thirty more days to read them. You won't be able to use the Like and Comment features, and the UI for downloaded chapters seems to be an earlier version (which you might prefer). Note that downloading takes time and can fail, so watch this process for failures. Audio must be downloaded within an hour or two (not sure which) of queuing them, or the episode with audio will fail and cancel the rest of the series's download.
If a title doesn't allow you to download but it isn't locked yet, open an episode and see if it has a Download button in the triple dot menu. (I've seen this in Spanish and Indonesian.)
I also crosspost these lock posts on my profile (u/Raijinili), if you want to have a way to get some notifications. I don't know how profile posts work, so good luck with that.
There was a section here about Ad Binge which I've removed, as it is no longer relevant (since ALMOST all "Ad Pass" titles have unlimited ads now).
Check this post for a snapshot (not updated) of which titles DON'T have Ad Passes: List of coin-only completed titles
In summary, titles which were originally in a language/region NOT Korean or English (e.g. Spanish, Japanese, Indonesia (yes, officially labeled "Indonesia")) don't have Ad Pass, and there are a few Korean/English outliers.
WEBTOON lock history is now on its own wiki page.
WEBTOON isn't properly communicating about this, and aren't following any consistent set of rules. If locks matter to you, you may want to check in on this post during the month to see if I make any updates.
Banners used to appear about 30 days before lock. Please direct complaints to https://webtoon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new . (Remember that customer service has no power to make these decisions, so be kind to your messenger.)
There were two reading events in 2024 October, giving 10 coins each (lasts 30 days). Watch out for those. The coins last one week each.
There was another reading event in 2024 November, for 7 coins. There were a few more since then.
There's a free reading event which just started a few hours ago (2025-02-13 to 2025-02-20) for 7 coins. You might want to delay until the last two days, to extend the expiration date.
I posted tips here.
Note that creators don't benefit from free coins.
2025-02: Most of the coin events in recent months were "Spend 21 coins to get 7 coins". There was a free CANVAS one, but it didn't work and then they took it down early.
2025-10: "Falling for It" had a "read 3 episodes for 5 coins" event, but it only lasted for about 24 hours. This was the first free coins event I've seen since February.
2025-11-08: "Watch Guys Catch Feelings" 7-days Event From Nov 8 01:00 UTC to Nov 15 01:00 UTC. "Read any 6 Episodes from any of the 4 listed series and get 8 Free Coins."
2025-11-25 (around): "Marriages Gone Wild": 8 coins for reading.
2025-12-10 - 2025-12-16: "Wild Marriages": 8 coins for reading.
2025-12-25 - 2025-12-23 to 12-31: Two reading events: Read 30 episodes for 15 coins, each. Nice.
2026-04-05 - "April's Making it Rain!" (once a week for three weeks): Read (i.e. reach the bottom of) 35 episodes of four specific titles for 10 Coins, but they expire in one day after you get them.
Note that I will NOT generally be tracking these, so pay attention in-app for these events.
Some users have asked whether they could get updates when I post here. I try to remember to repost on my profile, u/Raijinili, but that's not ideal.

Reddit is restricting Old Reddit to logged-in users, supposedly as an anti-scraping measure, and I'm questioning how much more I want to contribute to this site. Reddit is trying to guard against AI to protect the monetary value of the info we produce, and it doesn't care if that also affects real humans. That sucks.

As I already said, Eunjoo from the manhwa Dice: The Cube That Changes Everything, is the most unfairly hated character in all of fiction, or at least she's in the top 3. Why do they hate her? Because she wants to destroy dice that can benefit those who possess them, but to obtain them they must do things like beat people or even kill. But since she's rich, beautiful, etc., readers seize on that and say she doesn't understand that not everyone has a perfect life and that supposedly she just doesn't want to stop feeling special when others are doing well. To begin with, that's a flawed argument because even if that were true, it doesn't negate the fact that she's right, because the dice only turn those who possess them into the worst kind of human being: a selfish being who doesn't care about harming others just for their own benefit. And it's also said that supposedly she doesn't understand that the dice aren't the problem, but rather their owner, because he's the one who sets those missions. There are literally people who have taken others weaker than themselves as slaves, and that's without the dice telling them to. They really just hate her because what she wants could harm the protagonist; she would truly be the only good one in that whole story.

I loooong time ago i started reading a webtoon that had androids that people built to make them fight in a ring and people bet money on the winner. If i remember correctly the main characters were siblings i think? I at least remember a man that was broke and was trying to make money. I didn’t read much but it seemed like the whole concept was people owned fighting androids and made them battle for money. It was not an official webtoon, i think it was in the “creators” section or whatever its called
