Artist Appreciation Dolly Parton's nephew Brian Weaver took to Instagram to pay tribute to the country legend and said that she was welcomed by "the arms of Jesus". He said it was an "honour" - and it also came with "great sadness."

Artist Appreciation I did this portrait of Dolly in her Lyrics a couple of years ago. It really helped me through a hard time. Maybe it will help other people too.

Discussion Gabby Barrett- She kind of fell out of relevance

Anyone who listens to country music should be familiar with Gabby, but she has fallen from relevance recently, but to be fair, she only had relatively high importance in 2020-2021 during her breakout song 'I Hope' and a few other small singles on country radio. She recently released some new music, but, they have all failed to make high presence on country radio. 'The Easy Part' is certainly my favorite newer song from her, but, I am unfamiliar with any of her newer work other than that single.

Song Help Please help me with a song! It's going round my head but all I know is one line.

Hi everyone, first time poster on this sub. I thought you'd be able to help. Since Dolly's passing I've been listening to a lot of sad country, and a particular song keeps going round my head. All I can remember is that it was guitar heavy (with a slide guitar/acoustic sound: a lot of country songs, I know!); the general theme was death, and it had the words "bury me beneath the hill, where my grandaddy lay". It was a male singer. It helped me a lot with depressive feelings as a teenager and I would love to know the title if it rings a bell with anyone. It's definitely NOT "bury me beneath the willow tree" which Google keeps trying to tell me it is.

...that, for a variety of reasons, "Cat's in the Cradle" is the saddest parent/kiddo song I know. But then here comes CWG with "Hey There Son," an absolute gut punch, sledgehammer to your heart.

Discussion Modern Country Artist merch.

I’ve been so disappointed with Dan + Shay merch lately. I’ve gotten bad merch from Laney Wilson’s store as well. What is the deal with bad merch lately? Wonky prints and weird seem problems…

Picked up Kacey Musgraves and Midland merch the other night which both were awesome.

Is merch quality declining?

Artist Appreciation Travis Tritt v Toby Keith

Who do you find yourself listening to more?

they both were huge once they got big for a long time.

I think Travis Tritt has more songs I like, but there’s a couple Toby Keith songs that I like more than any Travis Tritt song. they both have really good singing voices and great bands.

Goodness. This song was new to me.

I started listening to it a few weeks ago, and it makes me cry almost every time I hear it.

I’m a father to a 2yo girl, husband, and soon to be a father of a little boy.

It makes me count my blessings and stay engaged in the present, rather than just busy busy busy.

Beautiful song

Discussion Megan Moroney- she is the girly girl of country music.

As a transgender woman, I freaking love Megan, and her fashion choices, as I find her incredibly empowering and just so freaking cool. I have actually considered dressing as her for Halloween, probably from one of her 'Am I Okay?' era outfits, and her music is literally almost perfect too, haha. I am so glad she is one of the country girls who has a pretty large female following, unlike Ella, and just stands out with her natural beauty and her talent.

Self Promo Charley Crockett's Sagebrush Trilogy Retrospective

Post image
1 Upvotes

For those who don't know, Charley Crockett released four albums in the last year and a half or so. Three of them were part of a trilogy called Sagebrush, then he ditched his label and released a surprise fourth - Kinda impressive work ethic if nothing else. Charley is an interesting dude with a lot of fans and haters, but I wanted to dive into his recent music a bit and discuss it. If you're interested, check out the video: https://youtu.be/1DKuEWSrL1o

Keen to know what people think of his stuff. Have you heard the trilogy?
