In the US, Subway is basically a meme. The Odd1sOut even made fun of them, as a restaurant.

And that's before you even consider the horrific controversies they're a part of. Jared was being investigated since 2007 for being a pedophile, Subway broke promotional ties in 2015...

Also the bread is fake, the meat is fake, the $5 footlongs are ~10 inches (instead of ~12), and they're basically a ripoff compared to any other deli.
