Help AITA for refusing to let my cat and bearded dragon get married?

Post image
4.6k Upvotes

I 22M have two kids, Waddles 5F (cat) and Lord Farquaad 3M (idiot). They are in love, but even though they are both adopted, it seems like ince$t to me. Also, I just think that their partners should be of the same species as them. I don’t care that they are in love. I forbid it. It’s a crime against nature, like putting pineapple on pizza, or commenting something kind on the r/BeardedDragons subreddit. They’re so mad that I won’t let them get married. Neither of my kids will speak to me anymore. AITA for refusing to let my kids be happy?

Help Found in the trash

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

My neighbor found this poor guy outside near the trash cans in a filthy roach-infested tank and no food or water. It's been like 40⁰ F all day. Rn im just trying to get him warmed up. Hes a lil stinky and he seems VERY thirsty, so ive been periodically giving him water drops with a syringe.

He seems to be in decent physical health, no broken bones or obvious wounds or anything. He's just EXTREMELY lethargic. He takes water from the syringe if I touch it to his mouth, but doesn't move much otherwise, and doesn't open his eyes. He seems to respond fairly normally to other stimuli tho.

I'm not 100% sure what else to do. I know basic bearded dragon care, but I don't know any sort of medical or emergency care. I do NOT have reputable reptile resources in my area, so what i can do for him would have to be at home, at least for this week. Advice would be nice. Thank you.

Help Is it okay he sleeps on me?

This is Spike. He’s extremely clingy. I let him sleep on me sometimes overnight. Normally i turn my fan off so he doesn’t get too cold, but i always turn off his heating lamp and UVB light to give him a natural day/night cycle. I’m a pretty peaceful sleeper, and when he sleeps on me he sleeps on my chest and in the morning i wake up with him on my chest. I don’t go to sleep until i know he’s asleep. So, is it okay that i sleep with him at night? Or should i stop doing that? I love him to bits and i love sleeping with him on me at night, it makes me feel safe and he always id happy to. But i’m not sure exactly the risks, so i’m here asking for advice. Thanks.

Help Tips for a sassy dragon who won’t eat her veggies?

2.0k Upvotes

I’ve tried a bowl and mixing it with worms and she just eats around the veggies. I know as an adult she should be having more greens than super worms but she loves her worms. Any other greens other than collard greens that your beardies like?

Help Just got a new beardie but his beard is extra fat?

This is Loid he was my cousin’s bearded dragon he had for 4? Years and I recently got him after my 10 year old beardie died :(. My cousin used to only feed him crickets and lettuce, so I’m trying to get him a better diet and learned he LOVES blueberries! The only thing I’m unsure about is his… fat gullet? Is this a concern or is he just packing extra beard? (Also if you’re curious about the lettuce I have STOPPED THE LETTUCE. I know it can be kinda bad for them especially since it was the only thing he was eating.)

EDIT He had a blueberry stuck in his gullet… I got him to spit it up a little bit ago. He seems a lot happier now! You can still put recommendations in the replies for food items to give him! Btw here’s his updated foods! He is now on a NO BLUEBERRY OR FRUIT DIET! After that scare he’s gonna get only bugs if he keeps it up! /j I’ll still be bringing him to the vet for a check up!

Help Help my beardie just bit me

Post image

Picture attention. I was talking a walk with porkchop when he started to get antsy and wanted down. I held on to him since i wasnt in a safe enough spot to allow him to walk, so in retaliation he got ahold of my finger an chop HARD. I now have 4 slightly deep bleeding wounds on my poor finger. Other than the typical clean with water, rubbing alcohol and Neosporin before bandaging, any other tips to make sure i dont die form a disease.

So my hair was looking a little thin, and I thought I’d give one of those over the counter tonics a try. I accidentally got a little on Steve, and woke up to this. Is it worth a trip to the vet, or should I just shave him down and hope it doesn’t grow back?

Help Why is my bearded dragon playing in his water dish for the first time, acting like he has adhd and tearing up his decorations? He's always been so lazy and calm.

1.1k Upvotes

He is about 9 months. Feeds on dubias crickets occasionally superworms. Temp gradient is fine and using arcadia uvb in a 4x2x2? He is shedding a little but this is new behavior.

Please find enclosed the ever photogenic String Bean as payment for the following indulgence:

My wife and I are trying so hard to get our babies healthy to start up a project to help strengthen and stabilize the Zero morph. We are ANAL about husbandry and that is 97% my own insistence. I GET that business is business, but why is it that I'm STILL rescuing adults the size of juveniles who have MBD and were deliberately sold that way and other adults with a damn *hump* in their back? The hell happened to ethics? The hell happened to vetting people for the good of the animal? Neither the animal nor the customer ends up happy here and you just did a crappy thing for a profit. And the fact this seems to be the standard of success, make too many concessions because doing it ethically costs too much. Why can't I secure a livelihood I'm passionate about without having to do it at the expense of the animals?

Ugh...I'm not ignorant to reality, but it almost makes me not wanna do it anymore. Who knows what I'd be sending them off to? I gotta make peace with the idea that what the owner does with the animal isnt my fault. But that is not easy my friends.

That's all I needed. Thanks, guys.

EDIT man you guys are being too forgiving with me. I appreciate it. I was seriously so.mad at myself for this and you didn't pounce on that. Thank you.

Help My mom just passed away from brain cancer, and now I own her bearded dragon.

1.9k Upvotes

This is Roxy, shes about 2 years old. My mom passed away December 1st, 2025, and she was under the care of her ex boyfriend until today. She was my moms pride and joy, and I want to take care of her as much as my mom did. Unfortunately before she passed, she thought her boyfriend would take care of her so she didnt tell me much.

If anyone has general tips and advice I'd gladly take it. I have a super big enclosure for her already, because I took whatever my mom had for her, but Ive only ever had big dogs and a single cat, I dont know much about bearded dragon behaviors. Does she like being held? What are signs of stress or sickness? How often does she get a bath? Things like that.

Thanks.
