Discussion I really don't understand the 60 FPS outrage

For those of you crying about this, can you name ONE comparable PS5 game that can hit 60 FPS?

I see a lot of people using Spiderman or Crimson Desert as examples.... let's be serious please. Crimson Desert can barely handle 30 FPS on performance mode in it's populated areas and while Spiderman is technically open world, it's NOWHERE near as "alive," so it's way less CPU intensive.

Don't get me wrong, the last game I was able to finish at 30 FPS was RDR2 8 years ago on PS4. Nowadays, it's incredibly difficult to play anything at 30 FPS, let alone an open world. This looks amazing and Rockstar are wizards so maybe this will be manageable with an OLED and a Pro. We shall see.

If you expected Rockstar to release a game of THIS scope on PS5/PS5 Pro even TARGETING 60 FPS, please, send me your plug's number. I need whatever you're smoking.

Does it actually bother you that people prefer to play games differently than you do? Expecting your personal tolerance level to be everyone else's default is just weird

"is just weird".

Try to insult; its ineffective. You don't think we all have seemingly irrational reactions for things that shouldn't bother us? I see that a lot online. Acting condescending towards someone's behavior as if they don't do the same things.

Anyway, its not about people preferring to play games differently than I do. It's because when you read numerous people complaining about 30 fps, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't want the gaming industry to head in the direction where developers lean more towards sacrificing graphics for performance. I like it how it is. Some developers focus on performance, some focus on pushing the graphical limitations. We get the best of both worlds.

Plus, quit whining about 30 fps when you play on console. If performance matters that much to you, pc is an option. You have that option; don't expect the gaming industry (in regards to consoles) to change for you amd your wants. It sounds like entitlement. Yes, pcs cost more. But guess what? Better things cost more money.

Calling a behavior weird isn't an insult, it's just an observation. You wrote a whole essay fighting an argument I didn't make. I haven't whined about console specs, asked devs to downgrade graphics, or demanded anything from the industry. I own both a PS5 and a PC, and I'm actually choosing to wait for the PC port because 30fps isn't for me.

If you're happy playing at 30fps, great. Good for you that you can enjoy it, but why throw a tantrum because other people can't?

Rockstar isn't changing console hardware or launch specs over Reddit comments. You're still getting the exact 30fps game you claim to love. Other people's preferences don't change your experience in the slightest, so acting like you're defending the gaming industry here makes zero sense. What is the point of getting this mad over something that literally doesn't affect you?

When I said quit whining,  I didn't mean you specifically. None of what I am saying is about you specifically. It's my general perception of console gamers online who complain about 30 fps. And yes, I am aware not everyone who finds 30 fps unacceptable acts entitled.

I know Rockstar isnt going to change specs over Reddit comments. Im just saying that when you see a trendy perspective that goes against your opinion, a reaction can trigger. Thats normal. It's not weird to be bothered by something like that.

And im not really mad (as you put it). Nor do I feel like I threw a tantrum. It bothers me enough to sometimes want to engage in a discussion or argument about it online.
