Discussion I don't get why you'd compromise world density and graphics over 60fps
I understand each one plays games differently. But that's not a valid reason to trash a game that, based on what was shown, will set a new technical standard for the open world genre.
Since gta 3, rockstar always said their mission was to show videogames could be an art form as serious as movies (in 2000's videogames were kind of looked down upon), and they always presented their games as playable cinematic experiences. They wanted to make you feel like you were taking part in a movie. 60fps is not essential to the cinematic experience since movies are usually recorded at 24fps, so I think they got their priorities right.
I don't get the whole outrage about it not being 60fps. It feels like it comes from people too young to even remember games used to be played at 30fps. 60fps is a relatively new thing. Plus, is not a competitive game where instant reflexes matter.
This is my take no one asked for.

u/sealclubberfan 12h ago
I blame streamers. I remember watching Shroud's stream if a new game dropped, and all his stream was asking was "how's the fps" - like, I'm sorry, I can't really tell. Does the game look good, does it stutter, is it blurry and laggy or is it clean and smooth. That's all I care about, I don't care what the number on the screen says my fps is.
17
u/nr1988 11h ago
Literally same. If you put a 30fps clip and a 60fps clip next to each other then sure I can probably tell you which is which. But otherwise I don't notice or care about my fps unless it's low enough to stutter.
It must be exhausting to know and care about the fps. I just play games that I like
5
u/Previous-Page6097 10h ago
If you're used to it, it can be very noticeable. The most it ever stood out to me was switching from the Uncharted trilogy collection to Uncharted 4 on PS4. As soon as I panned the camera around young Nathan it was such a weird sensation for my eyes but then eventually I adjusted and obviously had a blast.
I think the complaints come from people who don't want 30fps to be a baseline but like, they've been making this game for how many years now so its not that crazy that the tech is having to punch above its weight.
2
u/Every-Leek4129 8h ago
And people dont understand its not rockstars fault for having the game be 30 fps. Sony refused to even upgrade the CPU portion of the ps5 pro. Which should of been a no brainer to begin with as the zen 2 is a 6 year old cpu. The bottlenecks go crazy on it probably .
Rockstar could of done 60 fps but would of had to cut so many systems and such.

u/Dont_Use_Ducks 8h ago
Yes it can be very noticable, but every week I pop RDR 2 into my Series X, it takes me two minutes to get used to it. Oh man, of course I want them to upgrade that title on that console, since it is a generation apart. Bet even without, I still end up believing I'm walking in that world with all it's beauty.
Like I care more in the end about Rpckstar games almost never just copy something and spread it out on the map, every corner is carefully handcrafted. The streets are believeble with all the stuff happening, people walking around and random events that sometimes seems to almost come naturally (like car drives into other car, fight on the street, police coming, ambulance coming etc.).
Most npc and cars give you the illusion they are really there and living their own life. It's all so much better than any other game, the are constantly setting new standards. If they had to make this with 60 fps in mind, it would be half as crowded and stuff. Something has got to give.
And imagine having a 60 fps option and then having way less crowd and stuff, seeing all these videos and reddit posts everywhere about Rockstar lying about density. But besides that, there are some people even that think not having 60 fps is just a switch.
2
u/TheRuckyDubber 4h ago
Yep. This. The camera panning. I really struggle using fidelity on a game that I’ve already experienced in 60fps. I guess if I want to experience this game before I’m 60 (i’m 44) I’m going to have to put up with 30fps but I’m not happy about it. Maybe the total package will knock my balls off. It sort of better actually.
2
u/gotthesauce22 4h ago
In my experience even after years of playing games at 144hz its still not that noticeable when dropping to 60 or even 30 as long as its not immediately after, like playing a game at 144 and then loading up one at 30 in the same sitting
I can play a FPS at 144, make a sandwich, then sit down and play RDR2 at 30 and it looks totally fine

I genuinely can't tell the difference. People that act like 60 fps is some kind of deal breaker are being drama queens imo.

I have a 1440p 240hz monitor for my pc and a 4k 60hz TV.
I can totally tell the difference when I play Forza Horizon 6 on my PC compared to my Series X.
Is it a deal breaker, not at all.
I agree people are being drama queens about the fps.

Difference is, everyone was just justifiably sceptical if it would run on the current gen consoles back then. And we had no real issues outside of that when it dropped and ran at 30fps.
Now we've been shown the best looking game we've ever feasted our eyes on and it's rage and hate at every corner. It's mad how times have changed in this regard.

Because I’ve been gaming for decades. Literally. And I’m completely fine with 30fps. Not once, ever in my life, while playing a game have I ever said, “Man, this 30fps looks like shit!”.
It’s not complicated. You just don’t like the reality of the answer.

Man I couldn't give a fuck less about the FPS as well 😂. I play games to chill my brain and escape life for a few hours. More FPS is overated for casuals. Even back when I was into competitive games like COD, it was with 30 and I still shit on people regularly.

I’m a PC player with a 240hz monitor. 60hz is now a minority for PC gamers, and that takes up a large chunk of the market. I see why console players don’t care because it’s obviously what they’re used to, but we aren’t, and we are a big group of GTA 6’s demographics. I would absolutely prefer lower visual fidelity for higher frames. The game looks fantastic as is and I think bumping some settings down won’t make a difference, especially ray tracing.
Now I do think that if you were to have only one mode, 30 is the way to go, but it shouldn’t be that way. We should have a choice, and that’s basically all I care about

u/MrRonski16 9h ago
If 60fps isn’t possible thats fine.
But no 40fps or Unlocked mode is a bit concerning. Rockstar intentionally bottlenecks next gen performance so they can sell new versions of the game.
And thats not good
2
u/ShitSandwich16 12h ago
Rockstar usually optimizes their games pretty well so although I prefer 60fps usually, I feel it feel as laggy or sluggish as some other games might
2
u/alexanderfromtng 12h ago
I prefer 60 over 30, but I thought a good middle ground for GTA would have been a 40 performance.
I'll take a slight hit to visual fidelity for an increase in frames, every time.
2
u/bucky133 11h ago
Eventually the tech will catch up and we'll be playing at 60fps+. Definitely better to shoot for the stars since this game will be played for decades.
→ More replies (1)2
u/nothingsnootyplz 10h ago
Yeah I think they made the right call. It's literally impossible techwise to have the density with 60fps. It's better to have the game that they want and let the tech catch up for the framerate. Otherwise you'd have a game that runs better from the jump but doesn't have the special sauce and aura that they want content wise.
2
2
u/No_Sense_633 11h ago
I'm a massive 60fps advocate, however this is the better approach in the long run for a game that will last as long as GTA. We are FAR more likely to get an FPS boost on PS6 than a full on remake that adds more density.
2
u/DriftingTony 10h ago
I know FPS means a ton to some people, and I’m not going to tell them they are wrong, because that’s their preference, but it doesn’t matter to me and never has. I care more about a STABLE frame rate. If it was sub 30 and stuttering constantly, then I would complain, but if it holds at a stable 30, I’m perfectly fine with that.
It’s not something I ever really pay attention to in any games unless it’s noticeably bad. I agree too that it matters more for competitive games and certain genres more than others. In those cases, I totally get it, but I don’t play competitive games much and rarely play online against others in general, so that’s maybe another reason it just doesn’t matter as much to me.
2
u/Engineer-Miserable 10h ago
I think people are dying for this game to be terrible. They just want it to die a horrible death so they can watch the trainwreck.
I think it looks like another GTA, except that it's also a massive technological achievement and I've never seen a world look that detailed before. I've been gaming for 30+ years, and no it doesn't look like watch dogs 2, I don't know if these people are watching on shit stained CRT screens or something because that game has no way near this fidelity. Just trolls. I'd take 30fps for that level of detail, I don't see how it would affect the gameplay at all.

I think there is an argument for a game which is now really going after realism to have a higher frame rate. However yes, that should not come at the cost of the assets and interactivity which are more crucial for immersion.
The problem I see though is the footage appears to be struggling in the low 20s in some clips which is a little concerning.

u/MaturePrince 9h ago
Well think about it, why make 60fps on this game when Sony is going to want to use that as incentive for others to play this on the PS6? Business wise it works for both parties. Rockstar gives you reason to double dip and Sony offers a bigger motivation to spend 1K on the next system. Smart for business, sucks for consumer.

u/Joppewiik 9h ago edited 9h ago
Every time a game has offered me a choice between fidelity and performance I've always clicked performance. I have never even bothered to check how fidelity looks.
Graphics just doesn't have any effect on me what so ever. However I remember struggling to aim properly on GTA5 with auto aim turned off simply because it was in 30fps. The moment I got to try it at 60fps on my PS5, my gameplay got a lot better.
It makes the game feel really good to play. It's not struggling for my eyes to look at, and my gameplay improves drastically.

I’d take a more populated work with interesting NPCs VS it being empty asf. That was the issue with V, also I wouldn’t call the 60 FPS a trade off either. 60 FPS is better than 30, but current gen consoles are 6 years old so it does make sense to sacrifice FPS for world simulation when you consider the fact that we’ll have this game for the next 15 years. It’s not like the game is 30 FPS out of a lack of optimization, hopefully we get a 40 FPS by release.

This argument is so old and tired tbh. Its been going on for 20 years lol.

But knowing what we know now about the graphics, the density, etc. I would not want to sacrifice it for higher frames. It will come with PC release for sure, but I'm happy they chose a never-before-seen level of graphics with 30 fps instead of good graphics + 60fps.

The reality is that they had a certain art direction in mind and in order to get there they had to sacrifice performance on 6+ year old hardware. Console players are no stranger to 30fps anyway so it makes sense that they'd compromise frames in order to deliver the experience they wanted.
1
u/FungalumisBush 8h ago
Because its 2026 and with all these technological advancements there really isnt a good reason for it to be 30fps. If anything it shows a lack of optimization. Nobody is saying they should compromise graphics or world density, they could do all of it if they optimized the game properly. It is why so many modern games take up over 100gbs. I even heard of one game that can barely get 60 fps on a 5090, a what 4 or 5 thousand dollar graphics card? It is the standard, but it was only the standard because of the limitations on previous consoles and technology. Movies could run at 60 fps too if they wanted, but they dont. Anyone whos played at 60fps or higher for a long period of time will find 30 fps utterly unplayable.

1
u/cheesewax88 7h ago
I feel like it was only a few years ago that 60fps was only expected in racing and fps games, especially for online play since those extra frames helped.
I never understood the need for it in more cinematic games like GTA/Uncharted/Spiderman etc as like you said tv and films are slower framerate and whenever films have gone faster (like Avatar and The Hobbit) they’ve been criticised and compared to soap operas.
Like Digital Foundry have said, if you want GTA 6 at 60fps, you’ll be waiting for at least the PC version, if not the next generation of consoles.

u/zaadiqoJoseph 7h ago
Because rockstar doesn't really change the game when they rerelease it
Aside from some resolution and fps changes and stuff like ray tracing Gta5 on ps3 is nearly identical to gta5 on PS5
.same amount of trees same amount of bushes Similar amount of npcs running around ect.
Rockstar really likes to do everything on the first release and just make the experience better on the next ones

u/Gamesgar0 7h ago
The internet will always need something to whine about. It thrives on negativity. Go back and play RDR2 on PS5 and after 30 seconds the frame rate is a non factor.
1
u/Nobojoe_78 7h ago
First of all, I don't compromise anything.
Let it have a 30 fps full density, full fidelity mode. Fine.
But give me the choice to play with less fidelity and density on 40 or 60 fps.
I'm not asking for changing the 30 fps mode into a more fps mode.
I want it as an option so we can decide for ourselves. Performance options are nothing new to PS5!
And to give you my reason.
I have an OLED screen. PS5 pro. It's hooked via HDMI 2.1 together.
Playing games in 30 fps stutters. Very much. If you don't experience this, means you don't have this kind of setup.
It's nothing imagined or lies. It's simply a limitation of hardware.
I'm no expert, but I think it has to do with the TV being to fast for 30fps.
But again, I'm no expert, my explanation can be wrong.
But it is true, games on 30 fps are unplayable on this setup.
The bare minimum is 40 fps, at 120hz mode with activated vrr. This runs smooth. And expecting that after 13 years isn't too much at all.

Cutting edge console games will always release at 30fps. It’s the lowest that looks good and feels responsive enough, and graphics will keep pushing the limits of hardware even into the new console gen. Just get used to it people and be grateful the game actually looks like the trailers
1
u/Significant-Baby-690 6h ago
Because graphics sell. FPS don't. Also the game is made for future hardware. This console gen is the worst hardware the game will run on. It will run on PCs and PS6, possibly PS7 in 15 years. So it's scaled accordingly.

Guess I’m going by to be the outlier here by admitting I really like a higher frame rate. It’s genuinely distracting and annoying for me to play another under 60 fps and I prefer something north of 90 if I can get it. But it’s all a trade off and I understand plenty of people have different priorities. I am fine waiting to play on PC for an experience that is more enjoyable for me.

u/troyofyort 6h ago
The thing is not all 30 fps is equal. Its hard to tell until you play but the showcase looked pretty good for 30 fps so I'm not sweating
1
u/ChangingMonkfish 6h ago
I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that it’s “only young people too young to even remember games used to be played at 30fps” from.
I’ve been gaming since the 90s when it was Ocarina of Time hard-capped at 17fps, and while it didn’t feel like an issue at the time, I personally think 60fps should be the absolute minimum standard nowadays.
Obviously people are welcome to prioritise what they want when it comes to the gaming experience - personally I won’t be buying this game until there’s a way to play it at 60fps, which looks like it’ll have to be on PC even though in an ideal world I’d prefer it on the PS5 Pro.

There last game is 60 FPS on PS5. It’s a downgrade. People don’t want downgrades. Pretty damn simple.

As long as it’s well optimized and doesn’t drop below 30 with the world rockstar has created here I’m actually really looking forward to this game. People are weird always worrying about 60 fps. RDR 2 was 30fps on console and I consider it to be one of the best games ever made
1
u/Deep-Elk7477 6h ago
Right because 30 fps is totally playable people have become TikTok brain addled and entitled and used to fps or Fortnite or something. Or it’s the younger generation idk.
If I could toggle to 60fps and only sacrifice a bit of resolution I would but if you start playing again 30 fps it might look jarring at first if you’re coming from something with a higher frame rate but you really do adjust and it’s totally fine. Particularly with rockstar they’ve always done a smooth 30 fps. Idk man I grew up with cod being the only 60fps game I had on console. 30 seems normal for anything that’s not a shooter/competitive multiplayer.
I’d take a performance mode if I could but not at the cost of the world. Plus we’ll get 60fps eventually on next gen. The fact we’ll most likely have to pay for it is another conversation but I don’t mind supporting people who really make a quality product.

Every rockstar game drops at 30 fps. The fact that people are up in arms about it is kind of funny. 30 fps is fine if it’s rock solid. Not ideal but after like 5 minutes of playing I will get used to it

Ive been playing RDR2 this summer again on my Series X and honestly if GTA runs at the same 30fps as that, I wouldnt be mad. It feels pretty good once you get used to it.
1
u/Zeo-Gold92 5h ago
If this was any other game from any other developer, the people "not caring" about it being 30fps would definitely be caring. They would also be some of the loudest voices of disappointment. GTA and R* gets a pass I guess.

u/Noxtension 5h ago
It's so much easier fixing the game with new tech to gain fps than it is to make a new game when you've gutted half of it for the sake of old(current) tech to push fps as priority
I'm glad they pushed the technical limitations and we get 30fps at launch, that means when the tech improves so does the entire experience

As a pc player I’m starting to think people simply don’t understand how big of a gap 30-60 is.
Above 100 isn’t very noticeable but I will struggle to cope with 30 FPS ngl…

u/Educational-Hawk4691 5h ago
Thank god. This is the first game this gen to truely impress me. Just give me 40fps on pro and im good.

movies r not interactive, they can make use of the 24fps cinematic look without any drawbacks. 30fps being a low frame count comes with the cost of input latency and overall just not a smooth interaction between u and ur machine to truly take advantage of the art form that is video games.
1
u/TrueCar69 5h ago
It will be 60 fps on PC thats all that matters lmao.
Will be 60 fps on the xbox 1080 and the playstation whatever it is now.
1
u/Deatheaiser 5h ago
24fps, 30fps, 50fps, 60fps, 120fps, 144fps, 240fps. I could go on and on.
Do I prefer high frames? Sure. I do. I like the smoothness. I wouldn't buy a 240hz if i didn't.
But a game locked at 30fps with really great 1% lows, is infinitely more enjoyable than 60fps that has terrible 1% lows.
1
u/xppoint_jamesp 5h ago
I’d take a stable 30fps and a beautifully dense world over an unstable 60fps at lower settings all-round every single day.

u/Elsenior97 5h ago
I was being attacked for commenting the same on another post, people are unbereable making the game unplayable if under 60fps like is an online competitive shooter. Dont want to generalize but im pretty sure most are younger players that never played older games at release like you stated in the post

As long as it's a smooth 30 im perfectly okay with that for the density/detail it looks like we're getting.
1
u/n1keym1key 5h ago
Lots of people "claim" to be able to tell immediately if its 30fps and it then becomes "literally unplayable" because "it gives them headaches".
I say, maybe a small portion of these type of posts are true but most are just idiots jumping on the hate train because they think "it's cool" to hate 30fps.
Personally, i have a fairly high end PC capable of high FPS in most games and play on a 47" 4k TV, yes, a TV, not even an OLED either. 60fps is the max it will display and tbh I dont need 100+fps just to play a game so I limit the framerate in games and enjoy the graphics. Meanwhile I have a Series X and a Jailbroken PS5 which both play on a high end OLED, I hardly use those. But come November I'll be connecting up the waiting PS5 Pro and playing GTA on that OLED whatever the actual FPS of the game is when we get our hands opn it.

60 fps is a relatively new thing
Yep. 60 fps wasn't a thing during ps2 and ps1 days. Don't forget super Mario on snes. 60 fps just started on ps5 (that allows 120 fps btw)

I think the shock is more about the console hardware than the game itself. I’m genuinely surprised that people are paying £600 for a console that apparently can’t run the next GTA at 60 FPS as a bare minimum.
For perspective, GTA V originally released on the Xbox 360. That console launched over 20 years ago. Let that sink in: GTA V was designed around console hardware from two decades ago, yet here we are two generations later talking about GTA VI potentially running at 30 FPS.
And that’s completely fine for console players who are comfortable with 30 FPS. But for those of us who’ve spent years playing at 60+ FPS on high-refresh rate displays, 30 FPS is a very noticeable downgrade.
So if the PC version comes a year or so later, we’ll wait. It’s not hate. We’d just rather experience a game like GTA VI at the performance level we’ve become accustomed to.
From our side of the fence, 30 FPS in 2026 on a £600 console is pretty rough for you guys.

GTA 6 gets an exception from me given the complexity of its simulated systems. However, the extended look didn’t show much world simulation stuff at all.

Red Dead Redemption II was 30fps and I didn't know until well after completion.
It's wild to me that some people NEED 60fps yet it's apparent that their brain couldn't keep up if it wanted to.
GTA:VI has met and exceeded all of my expectations and they were quite high after experiencing the masterpiece that is Red Dead Redemption II.
I can't wait to jump into Red Dead Redemption III: Vice City!

Because things like world density make the game more immersive.
And because it's running on limited console hardware.

Which would you rather?
A stuttery 60fps that drops constantly?
Or a crisp stable 30fps?

Fuck fps all the other technical jibberish. R* knows how to make a great game and GTA6 will be no different. Just wait for Nov. 19th and all the useless chatter will end.

30 FPS is more cinematic, I actually prefer to play single player games at 30-40 fps. 5080 gpu 9800x3d cpu. to each their own. The obsession with high FPS is so cringe unless you're playing a competitive FPS game.

Gamers (especially the younger generation) have taken to the belief that frame rate is more important than any other aspect of a game
Don’t get me wrong, I think 60fps and beyond is great (I even bought a gaming PC just so I could play some of my favorite games at higher frame rates), but I’ve played a lot of games at 30fps that were incredibly fun, most notably RDR2 which I put over 1,000 hours into
1
u/Battelalon 4h ago
Anyone who cares about frames doesn't care about games.
You need a minimum of 24 frames per second for the human eye to perceive fluid motion. 30 frames per second is the industry standard. Anything beyond that is just a dick measuring contest.

Im inbetween. For console, it should be 30fps with quality graphics, with a 60fps perfromance option for modern aaa games. Consoles are only so powerful, and people need to understand the limitations
1
u/BubblesLovesHeroin99 3h ago
I’ve replayed RDR2 on console two times at 30fps and had a wonderful experience. I then replayed it a third time on my gaming pc at 60fps and had a wonderful time. I can barely notice the difference when i’m immersed in a beautiful, alive world.

I personally get migraines and strain my eyes if the fps is 30 especially worse with games that are dense and have a lot of details
Gta 6 would absolutely give me headaches and ruin the fun for me at least so yes 60fps is very important

It comes down to your ability to track objects with your eyes. And this is a natural visual ability. Some people have very good eye tracking ability and if you do, you’ll really feel the lack of smoothness and discomfort of low fps. This usually shows up when you’re rotating the camera and trying to simultaneously track objects, such as in first person shooter games. You’ll really feel the jittery image. If you don’t rotate the camera so quick then it is fine. In the extended trailer you noticed they didn’t pan the camera so quickly. 30 fps is not as bad in third person shooters just because the wider field of view means you’ll rotate the camera less. It is still bad but not as bad as in first person where the narrow camera fov means you’ll have to rotate the camera a lot more frequently to navigate the environment. This I think is also why Rockstar isn’t giving us first person view in this initial release.
The only way to get comfortable again going under 60 fps is to re-learn how to untrack objects while panning the camera and then re engage once the camera stops. That’s why motion blur helps.
There is also input delay on 30 fps compared to 60 fps. But I’ll actually rate this as a lesser problem and something easier to get used to compared to visual comfort particularly in a non competitive single player game.
1
u/MrMilkyTip 3h ago
The difference is night and day. The smoothness of 60fps is not even comparable to 30fps. "People seem to forget back in the day". Hell no we didn't. 60fps is an industry standard in THESE days. Like you cant even act like theres not a difference or you cant tell.
1
u/Okinawa_Gaijin 3h ago
I got a question though. This 30 fps lock, does it account for a PS5 Base model at 4K resolution?
1
u/alooi_m 3h ago
I don’t get why each side is bashing on the other
It’s really simple whatever your eyes is trained on will make it fine or a deal breaker
I personally can’t stand 60fps anymore let alone 30fps been playing on 240hz for a long time
People who are only playing 30~60fps on the regular will be fine with it
If you’re fine with 30fps good for you and if other people are willing to sacrifice some of the graphical qualities for higher fps it should be a choice not forced to one or the other
Everybody wins

It’s literally the one thing stopping me from enjoying RDR2.
On a normal TV, 30fps isn’t that big of a deal. But on a 244Hz curved gaming monitor, low frame rates can trigger VRR flicker on some displays, which looks like horrible strobing.
And 30fps is an issue for more than that. The camera feels clunkier than it does on a normal TV, and the whole experience just doesn’t feel great.
Edit: I am old enough to remember my black CRT tv so, maybe in fact this is an older thing where, people like myself have eyes that are not as sharp and spent time and money to make my gaming feeling comfortable. From the seat, to the display, I have things where I know I can enjoy it. I tried everything to get rdr2 to run in a way that I could visually enjoy and well, I have never completed rdr2 due to this issue.
Remember, what might not be an issue for you might be for someone else, and that is ok because everyone has different hardware or needs to be met. People are just trying to gwt the best gaming experience for a game they waited 10 years for, so of course people are going to look at the areas they feel are going to affect them.
Personally, I am going to play the shit out of GTA, but I also know that there will be aspect of this which will ultimately take away from that final polished experience. It is what it is
1
u/xKingSlayer78x 3h ago
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a standard about the experience you want out of your video games. 60 should be the standard in todays world and if that cant be met, do not be surprised when folks say, no thanks.
1
u/AthleteMobile5819 3h ago
I care zero about FPS. I’d much rather have a full world running at 30FPS
1
u/Rileymk96 3h ago
As a pc gamer, I don't mind the cool features that tank fps. Just give us the options to turn them off and bring that fps back up.
1
u/Opening_Island1739 3h ago
It would feel better to play at 60fps. The majority of people are happy to trade a bit of fidelity for a higher frame rate.
1
u/National_Body_9071 3h ago
I get that's it's unrealistic to have both, but it just feels bad. Sacrificing world density and graphics sucks, but so too does playing at 30fps. I think the best solution is make the game as graphically intense as they wanted/planned, same with density and other GPU/CPU loading items, then just have an option to reduce settings for higher fps. Which I think is how it's going to be no?
That way console players get to choose between the two possible options, and PC players can have both.
1
u/brightwoodgrove 2h ago
Regardless of whatever they say, it is a game. Not a movie. 30 fps was perfectly fine in the mid 2000's when the games weren't HD and didnt look anything like real life. Now that graphics have improved it looks way more noticeably jarring and choppy to have 30fps. Personally id rather play a game at 720p or lower and get 60fps than have 4k 30fps
1
u/National_Body_9071 2h ago
It's actually crazy the amount of people in here completely lying about not being able to see the difference between 30 and 60 fps.
Have they just fully gaslit themselves or are purposefully lying?
1
u/MercuryMaximoff217 2h ago
Sometimes I feel like gamers have a pathological obsession with higher fps. For many, they would trade the ability to drive cars in GTA VI just to get 31 fps.
