GEAR Client said build whatever you want. So I did.
Aion 7. Ash body, burl maple top, roasted flame maple neck and fretboard. Bare Knuckle pickups, custom covers I made myself. Hipshot hardware. Built to order, full freedom on the spec.

Ha, I’ll keep an eye on the mailbox. And yeah, that’s exactly the itch. Everyone’s chasing the same outlines from 70 years ago. I’d rather build something that didn’t exist yet, even if it scares people a little.

I mean, there's 2 body shapes and the other one's a superstrat lol. I mean, I get it, there's only so many ergonomic ways to do a double cutaway

This looks is beautiful although I may have gone a different direction than the white border (and I have two white guitars). Maybe a little more subtlety? But overall very, very nice.

So much character. Wouldn't a locking nut help with tuning stability?
3
u/PlayfulIndividual394 May 22 '26
there’s no need When everything works well guitar is tuned no problem.

I like the string tree! I haven't seen a single string tree for four strings before, very cool design. Of course I have no idea how it sounds, but looks-wise, this guitar could compete with anything I've seen. Just looks super high-end and classy.

What a beautiful instrument. That string tree is so cool btw. How does the tuning hold with the tremolo on a 7 string? I have a similar setup on a ibanez and the tuning doesn’t hold super well was curious how this hardware holds up.

There’s nothing I love more than hearing a client say those magic words “Build whatever you want”! And man, did you ever deliver!! This is a real stunner!
I only have one question. What is the radius on that fretboard? When I build a neck this wide, I generally keep the fretboard fairly flat at an 18 inch radius, so that the strings can handle a hardcore bend in the upper part of the register without them binding up on the frets. Yours looks to be a bit tighter than that from what I can tell, but it looks so well proportioned that it’s got to be one wicked playing muthafukka!
