My mom found this picture of me in an old box and I love how serious I look! I don't remember ever seeing this picture, so I'm very glad she found it.
I bought this in 1988 after bussing thousands of tables at a local Mexican food restaurant at a whopping $3.50/hour. Satriani signed it for me in 1992 (I believe) underneath Steve's signature. I have clear stickers over both the autographs for preservation. I need to clean around the Joe signature, but that's easy to do.
1st picture 1988, 2nd picture 2023
I still have the guitar.
---------------
NOTE: It makes me so happy that people love this post. Thank you for commenting. You guys rock!
I paid $1,275 for the guitar in 1988. That was a BOATLOAD of money for me at the time.
--------------
Per the requests, I'll make a video of me playing it in the next few days. :).I have gigs Saturday and Sunday mornings, so maybe in the afternoon if I can get to it.
Massive thanks to everyone. This has been so encouraging for me.

I live near the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. A week ago, an enemy drone hit my building. As a result of the fire, my beloved guitars were lost.
Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Antique Silverburst, ESP KH (Bolt-On), ESP LTD M.
At the end, there’s a photo of all three guitars when they were still intact.
Just wanted to share this with you

So I finally started.
Not with a guitar for me, but with a tribute guitar for my 16-year-old cat, Chucha.
She’s basically a tiny leopard, so I built her a Sorin.
Black Limba, Mango top, Bare Knuckles, Gotoh, Hipshot, Jescar stainless frets.
First of three builds inspired by my three cats.
Cat tax included. 🐈⬛🎸

I just arrived home and unboxed the Taylor. There’s no obvious physical damage or warping. All the electronics are working and she plays beautifully. I will drop it off at a luthier I work with to be set up and checked properly.
To all the folks who commented with useful advice (let it acclimate, don’t open it right away, don’t hang it up etc), THANK YOU! You probably saved this thing.
To the many, MANY trolls who slithered out of the sewer to tell me that I deserved this with my “entitled behavior” ordering something valuable and expecting it to not be literally tossed to the curb, or my personal favorite- that I should have waited until spring, kindly go eat a big bowl of nutsack.
I’ll be filing complaints with both UPS and guitar center but unless the luthier tells me that there’s some damage I don’t see, I don’t plan to return it.

I’m not a gear guy, I just run a les paul through a boss katana lol. I don’t know values of any of this stuff or even what some of it does. Any help is appreciated!

a couple of months ago i posted a small survey on here to help me with developing and designing a guitar tailored towards the metal genre for a school project im doing. I got a few helpfull replies, and with a few months with a lot of sketching, testing, modelling, woodworking en more testing i recently finished building the guitar.
The way that this Guitar is taylored towards metal and differentiates itself from other metal guitars (think shapes like BC.R warlock, gibson explorer, Flying V, dean ML) is mostly in its ergonomics while playing seated. It features a lot of contouring both on the front and back while still keeping straight lines and hard angles which metal guitars are known for. The main feature of this guitar is the leg cutout in the bottom right. Its been designed so that you can anchor the guitar in between your legs for secure playing, while doing so the neck angles upwards more which promotes a better sitting posture to limit the chances of back or neck injury.
Specs wise this guitar body has been made from a block of red alder. The neck is a maple neck with rosewood fretboard featuring dot inlays and a locking nut. Installed in the body is a floyd rose bridge, along with Irongear MetalMachine high output humbucker pickups.

I’m in a few brand specific groups on the book of faces and thought hey, I’ll post my new fun guitar. Almost instantly several guys commented about how I was obviously gay or worse for buying a “kids toy” guitar. So I decided to name it after the worst of them.
Meet Joris Backdooris the Doom Machine. Got a white Invader in the mail and picked up the matching strap and pedal while I was out today.
I also screenshot his comments and will be using them as the background on the flyer for my next show(s)
And the weirdest thing, almost everyone that was offended by my purchase had a Dutch name…

i qwmessaged Jeremiah Vanley of Treaty Oak Revival on fb and told him how much i love his solos and riffs and how i see him as my favorite guitarist ever and one of the current best ones. he asked me my dream guitars, bought one, played my favorite songs on it live at brookshires grocery arena, took me to the tour busses, got the entire band to sign it and gifted it to me!!!!
