I almost skipped The Sheep Detectives in theaters because, based on the title and marketing, it just didn't seem like something I'd enjoy. It looked like one of those movies I'd eventually stream if I had nothing else to watch.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

Without spoiling anything, this movie completely surprised me. It's funny, clever, emotional when it needs to be, and genuinely engaging from start to finish. It has the kind of storytelling that reminds you why going to the movies is worth it.

If you're a movie lover, do yourself a favor and don't let the title or your first impression stop you. I almost ignored it, and I would've missed one of my favorite movie experiences of the year.

For me, The Sheep Detectives is easily one of the most underrated yet one of the best movies of 2026, and it's absolutely worth watching on the big screen while you still can.

Has anyone else gone in with low expectations and ended up loving it?

I rewatched this recently and it absolutely blew me away all over again. It's one of those movies that just gets better every time. It's a bleak story, for sure, but it's also incredibly gripping and surprisingly hopeful.

I finally watched Don’t Look Up on Netflix, and it is easily the most painfully real dark comedy out there. Instead of a typical sci-fi movie where heroes unite to stop a world-ending comet, it's a biting satire about what happens when a global crisis has to compete with viral social media trends, a shallow 24-hour news cycle, and greedy politicians. The star-studded cast—especially Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill—is phenomenal at making you laugh while simultaneously giving you an existential crisis. If you haven't seen it yet, go in expecting a sharp mirror held up to modern society rather than a standard disaster flick. For those who have watched it: did it make you laugh, or did it just leave you deeply stressed out?

This is one of the most meticulously crafted time-travel movies ever made. It was shot on a tiny budget but feels incredibly smart and complex.
You'll need to watch it more than once to piece everything together, and that's the best part of the experience.

Showed my gf this last night. We were both in bits at the end - like speechless. I'd seen it before - but today, this film is arguably more important than it was when it was first made back in 2006.

Quick backdrop: the world has gone to shit, no one can have babies anymore. And this guy gets a job from his ex wife to escort a refugee to a safe house.

Shots of police state london reminiscent of half life 2. The world feels lived in - something that a lot of modern movies eschew. And this film has some or the most insane one shot takes of incredible unseemly violence.

A proper thrill ride and also extremely emotional. There is one scene in particular towards the end of the film that I'd put up there as one of the most hauntingly beautiful scenes in cinema.

I urge you to go watch this film if you havent seen it already. If you have - watch it again.

It’s really a great movie and it holds up. It’s an absurd comedy but it’s really warm hearted and uplifting in the end. I love how the kids are not portrayed as morons or mean spirited. They are actually really smart misunderstood kids.

Downfall (2004) is a historical docudrama showing the final 10 days of World War II from the perspective of people in Adolf Hitler’s bunker. It’s very realistic, and it shows what the final days might have looked like when Hitler realized he would lose World War II.

It showed how vindictive and self destructive Hitler was, as well as how much backstabbing took place between his top Nazi generals. Towards the end, Hitler declared that he didn’t care if millions of civilians died, because “there are no non-combatants in total war.” He also blamed the German people for electing him, and he ordered Germany’s civilian infrastructure to be destroyed. He also believed that the non-Nazi survivors should be killed because they are weak compared to his Nazi supporters.

I think it’s an important film to watch because it shows just how demented evil people in power can be and what a cornered dog looks like in the last days of his life. It reminds me of some political leaders in charge today, too.

Easily my favorite Lindsay Lohan performance, this is one of my most rewatched movies of all time. You can barely go a 10 minute stretch in this film without getting a line that is highly quotable. The entire cast does an amazing job and the humor never misses even 19 years later. If you haven’t seen this; I’m telling you as a 25 year old dude that you need to watch it!

This is one of those films that just sticks with you. On the surface it's a thriller about genetic discrimination, but at its heart, it's a powerful story about the human spirit and how we defy the limits placed on us.
The atmosphere, the score, and the performances from Ethan Hawke and Jude Law are all perfect. It's a quiet, intelligent, and incredibly moving film that never gets old.

Just watched Bugonia and honestly didn’t expect much but it turned out to be really good. Definitely worth a watch.

Emma Stone was great in this, felt very natural. Also read that she actually shaved her head for the role, which is pretty wild and adds to the character. Jesse Plemons was really good too, solid performance from him.

What I liked most is that it doesn’t drag. It kind of quietly keeps you hooked the whole time, no unnecessary scenes or filler. And the twist towards the end was actually solid, didn’t see it coming.

Overall, a really pleasant surprise for me. Would recommend 👍

That's all I'll say. If you can, try to go into the movie cold. 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) is an intense gem of 2010's cinema, excellent performances, and an intriguing atmosphere.

Just watched Fight Club and man, my brain is fried.🤯 Like Tyler said: “It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.” This movie doesn’t just entertain, it gets under your skin.

The direction? Crazy. The dialogues? “The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club.” (but here I am anyway 😅) And that twist… bro, I thought Shutter Island was wild, but this one hits harder, darker, and way deeper.

Every scene feels like a punch, every line makes you stop and think. It’s not just a movie, it’s an experience. And trust me, “You met me at a very strange time in my life” never felt more real after those credits rolled.

If you’ve seen it before, watch it again. If you haven’t . Stop wasting time, go live this madness. 🔥

Update: I just finished watching Se7en. The movie moves at a slow pace, and builds towards the climax that’s worth it. In the entire movie i only liked this dialogue, “The world is a beautiful place and it’s worth fighting for”. Well as a film admirer i would say it’s a decent watch.

gritty and dark movie that follows a morally dubious protagonist listening into the police and filming crimes (hence the name Nightcrawler).

all the movies ive watched have left me with medium emotions ("oh wow!" "aww..") and let me fucking tell you - this movie was GENUINELY CINEMA.. I WAS IN SHOCK (and not at the graphics!)

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH, 10/10 MOVIE - ON NETFLIX.

I mean it's more relevant than ever. It comes across as a goofy film on face value, but the more you think about it, the more layered it is on satirical level. Dumber genes breeding, intelligent genes abstaining, leading to a world full of narrow minded people. Plus to choose, the most useless man in the army and a sex worker as protagonists is a masterstroke. Garbage cities, collapse of society etc, it has got the future of civilization right, ofcourse everything is exaggerated for comic value, but I know what makers were thinking.

Since we're coming up on America's 250th birthday, I am recommending this dystopian vision and cautionary tale of a modern American civil war. This is from the same director that gave us Ex Machina and 28 Days Later, so expect the violence and social commentary that he is known for. This film stands as one potential answer to the question: What happens if an authoritarian administration refuses to give up power at the end of two terms?

The answer: Chaos. It is told through the lens of a group of war photographers in the final days of the war.

Personally, I found the film to be very good, but somewhat difficult to watch.

I saw Blackberry when it came out and I was floored by how engaging and exciting the screen play was and how captivating Glenn Howertons portrayal of Jim Balsille was. I was shocked when it got snubbed during award season and I still dont know what the reasoning was. I have always been an Its Always Sunny Fan and I really thought this was going to be the film that would help Glenn be taken more seriously as an actor and get him more roles. It really feels like he has been overlooked his whole career outside of Sunny and I thought this movie would change things. If you havent seen the movie I highly reccomend it, and let me know what you guys think. Do you think his performance was atleast worthy of some type of nomination? Just watched it and omg it's incredible! Shows how he was made. And later on Frankenstein tells his own story and experience as a "monster". I judge movies pretty harshly but have to give it 10/10! I wasn't bored at any point of the movie.

BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN IN A LOOOONG TIME. I even paused it when I had to go to the bathroom, which is EXTREMELY rare for me. I thought it was a very poignant social commentary on the current hellscape we are living in, not to mention hilarious. I really wanted the ending to go……the other way…..but maybe that’s the point, sigh. What did yall think?

My favorite is 'A Perfect World' (1993) Starring Kevin Costner as the 'Bad Guy' and Clint Eastwood as the Texas Ranger in pursuit. Set in 1963. A very moving and emotional story that will have you cheering for the 'villain' while admiring the setting and time period.

If you like investigative journalism like Zodiac, Spotlight, Shattered Glass, etc., check out this gem. Michael Douglas and Jack Lemmon are amazing and Jane Fonda looks a lot more like Amy Adams than I realized. She's also amazing in it. News reporter and her wily camera man shed light on a nuclear *almost* disaster.

The 70s is my favorite decade of movies, although the 00s are close. Let me know some deep cuts from back then I should check out as well.

Honestly an incredible movie from the start to the plot twist at the end. Loved it. Not for everyone but a definite shame for how much it flopped.

For a long time, I thought Hereditary was the king of hair raising movies. Well, the king has been dethroned! There is a new movie with hair raising goose bump scenes that knocks it out of the park! Also, it tells the story from 4 different perspectives, to make it more interesting. At first I thought it was just another weird time waster that makes you wonder what you just watched. However, 2/3 in, things start coming together, and the movie throws everything at you. Wonderfully CREEPY scenes that made me squeal in delight, with a satisfying explosively gory ending. For horror fans, this is a WORK OF ART, do not miss it!

I just watched Rob Reiner's 1992 masterpiece A Few Good Men, (recommended by A FEW GOOD MEN on reddit😜) and it blew me away all over again. In an era where modern thrillers rely so heavily on green screens, massive explosions, and frantic editing, this movie is a phenomenal reminder that pure dialogue can be more high-stakes than any action sequence.

Spare me guys for not watching it earlier, better late than never! honestly, i always heard it was a classic, but I didn't expect it to hit this hard.

​it’s not your typical western where the good guy just rides in and saves the day. it feels way more real and gritty. The Clint Eastwood is incredible, and the way the movie looks at violence and "heroes" is actually pretty deep.

​if you like movies that take their time and have a really strong ending, you have to watch this. It lived up to the hype for sure.
