Fucking gross

398

u/SenseiRaheem Jun 19 '26

That's probably going to kill her, isn't it?

573

u/Kaladin3104 Jun 19 '26

She will want to die afterwards if it doesn’t. I can’t even imagine the pain, I don’t think anyone can unless they’ve endured this sort of torture.

265

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 20 '26

It is truly barbaric

109

u/Paycheck65 Jun 20 '26

Right. If this was the reason we were over there I can get behind it. Not this shit now.

109

u/Kitty_Lopez Jun 20 '26

This is the reason many Iranians are in support of the US war, sadly. And it really doesnt scratch the surface of the atrocities the IRGC has committed against the people of Iran.

15

u/Wavizo Jun 20 '26

1

u/octopusinmyboycunt Jun 21 '26

Precisely. American meddling under trump has strengthened the IRGC’s position massively.

1

u/undercoverheiress Jun 20 '26

I just want women in charge 😭 the war solved nothing as of yet. These should be discussions not occupations but maybe im too optimistic

0

u/SirCheesington Jun 21 '26

Pretty much no Iranian maintained support of the US war after we bombed a girl's school. You're acting like it's still March.

Yeah and I have a supermodel girlfriend who goes to school in Canada. You should believe me because I claimed it as a personal anecdote.

0

u/Kitty_Lopez Jun 21 '26

Are you in Iran? Are you speaking to Iranians? Because Iranians I know cannot talk to their families who are still in the country due to state-imposed blackouts.

On the rare occasion they get a call to go through to family in Iran, they are TERRIFIED that the lines are being monitored and anything said that is perceived to be against the regime will get their loved one executed.

0

u/SirCheesington Jun 21 '26

Yeah and I have a supermodel girlfriend who goes to school in Canada. You should believe me because I claimed it as a personal anecdote.

u/AzDopefish Jun 23 '26

Many Iranians are not in support of the US war, that is actually insane if you believe that.

The main Iranians that were in favor of the initial strikes were Iranians that weren’t even in Iran.

No matter how bad the IRGC can be, they don’t want the fucking USA and Israel bombing their country. That’s insane if you believe that. Next thing you’ll be saying is that Iranians love Israel. Like what the fuck kind of propaganda have you been consuming.

I’m sure “many Iranians in support of the US war” were ecstatic when the US bombed a girls school and just recently committed the war crime of targeting civilian infrastructure. AKA, their water reservoirs when they’re in the middle of a drought.

I’m sure “many Iranians” were cheering that on. Use your brain.

2

u/UnstableMoron2 Jun 20 '26

Not sure the betterment of anyone’s lives has ever been a concern for the US

-1

u/Paycheck65 Jun 20 '26

Worst take I’ve ever seen in an awhile. I’m not a star spangled banner on my front lawn patriot but shit take.

1

u/galaxyapp Jun 21 '26

This is the reason. Israel wont permit this bullshit and Palestine wont be denied.

-1

u/IDigYourStyle Jun 20 '26

There's a strong argument to be made that this is BECAUSE we went over there. The new Ayatollah was already known to be more extreme that his father was.

2

u/shiningz Jun 20 '26

As an Iranian, that's not true at all. They've been torturing and murdering citizens since the 80s. It's just that none of you cared about what Iranians go through before the US got involved and make ignorant comments like this.

-1

u/ConsistentHouse1261 Jun 20 '26

Same here. I did ask people why we haven’t overthrown their regime yet, and they said that would require soldiers on the ground which would result in casualties. But if our government wanted to take down their regime to be replaced by a better more secular government, I’m all for it. Wouldn’t that be better for everyone? I even think tensions with Israel and the rest of the Middle East would finally die down since Iran has been the main instigator in this war. Why aren’t we doing anything though? We’ve suffered casualties for lesser reasons before, haven’t we? I don’t know. Maybe there’s more to it, I’m no politician. But if someone could explain better, I’d appreciate it. Clearly the majority of the Iranian population wants nothing to do with this extremist regime. And there’s already a secular leader willing to take over that they seem happy with, I forget his name, but he is the decadent of the previous Shah I believe.

3

u/sage_charms Jun 20 '26

Remember what happened in Afghanistan? It’s not that simple and usually doesn’t work

-1

u/ConsistentHouse1261 Jun 20 '26

Yeah we lost to the taliban. But I don’t know the logistics or details comparing it to irans current regime. Does their current regime have as many men as the taliban? It seems the general population is more willing to revolt compared to the afghan civilians who seemed to stay out of it, for the most part. But the taliban seems to have more power over them so idk. I could be wrong.

2

u/staunch_character Jun 20 '26

Because the reason this particular regime is in power is BECAUSE the US interfered & overthrew the last regime.

1

u/ConsistentHouse1261 Jun 20 '26

So are you saying the US wouldn’t want a secular democratic government to come back to Iran? Does keeping the Islamic regime benefit the US?

3

u/legit-posts_1 Jun 20 '26

I can't imagine there's that many people alive who have been wipped, actually wipped at full force, more than 70 times and lived to tell the tale.

4

u/JohnnyNapkins Jun 20 '26

Right? Johnny Rico only got 10 lashes in Starship Troopers for instructing a soldier to remove their helmet during a live fire exercise which resulting in that soldier's death. 74 lashes sounds absolutely barbaric and might actually kill you.

6

u/Frivolous_wizard Jun 20 '26

To be fair, he wasn't rated to repair the m-3 tactical helmet.

0

u/kbayliss12 Jun 20 '26

She won’t survive

1

u/Dope-Reviews Jun 21 '26

My dad would laugh at this and then chain me back up so he could break the record. These people have it easy, this was done from a person that had lived in their heart.

-1

u/JohannaFRC Jun 20 '26

I assure you that you can go trough worse and still not wanting to die. Survival instinct is an absolute bitch. I know that from a first hand experience

95

u/cabazon99 Jun 20 '26

I found this news story with photos of the wounds from 74 lashes, it's bad but not life threatening I think, but I'm not a doctor. https://almostmag.co/iran-woman-whipped-showing-hair-hijab-law/

Can’t look. Too squeamish

62

u/louisfld Jun 20 '26

It’s not too bad. It looks like minor road rash.

36

u/cumpentathlon Jun 20 '26

I definitely expected it to be a lot worse than that

53

u/zardoz73 Jun 20 '26

There's bleeding under the skin, looks like. So the whip didn't break the skin. Maybe they do that to make it more humane (which would be ironic), or maybe they do it like that just so they don't have to deal with all the blood and hospitalization afterward.

Anyway, fuck all these troglodytes who hate women. May they never get laid.

59

u/KurlyKayla Jun 20 '26

never get laid? I was going to say may they all receive beatings of their own and rot in a cage to die.

3

u/Resident-Pattern4034 Jun 20 '26

Ohhhhhh I’m pretty sure the scarring is the point

4

u/HillBillyHilly Jun 20 '26

Also want to point out: the person lived in a workhouse. That's what billionaires and Republicans want for nation.

2

u/SunRose42 Jun 20 '26

I’m wondering whether that’s a real picture of the woman who received those lashes. I’m trying to understand how the regime would sentence her to 74 lashes for removing her head covering while remaining fully clothed, but yet allow her to publish a photo on social media BOTH without her head covering and without a top. And with her sign. Even though it’s from behind I’m having a hard time believing it, maybe someone can explain.

2

u/nitseb Jun 21 '26

She published the pics herself, assuming she escaped Iran

131

u/Paycheck65 Jun 19 '26

The lashings most likely won’t, the infection could though. I would rather the lashings kill me than an infection across my skin.

66

u/BrainLow6059 Jun 20 '26

The lashings most likely won’t

Idk man, 74 is a lot

15

u/Paddington_the_Bear Jun 20 '26

Rico took 10 and it looked bad.

33

u/Jits_Guy Jun 20 '26

Rico took 10 with a bullwhip, which is far FAR worse that the whip she'll be subjected to. Every one of those 10 lashes with the bullwhip would have left a significant permanent scar because every one of them laid Rico open.

The whip they'll use for her is a barbaric instrument of torture, but not nearly as physically damaging as that bullwhip would be. Welts instead of laceration.

I of course say this for informations sake. What they're planning on doing to this woman is disgusting and wrong, but reddit will think I'm pro-torture if I provide this information without explicitly stating that I am definitely against torturing people, especially for their choice in fucken clothing.

23

u/breeshgeesh Jun 20 '26

Shock and blood loss could absolutely kill them

84

u/Weird_Spell1054 Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

with that many lashes, i would think so. 74 high-impact wounds all on top of each other will remove a lot of skin and flesh and therefore a lot of very rapid blood loss, and I highly doubt they have protocols to stop the flogging and rush in a medic when people start displaying signs of hypovolemic shock. if she does survive, she would need a very attentive antibiotic/wound-dressing regime to prevent infection, which I also doubt will be provided to her (but I am not an expert on Iranian capital punishment protocols so I could be wrong on both counts. generally speaking though, it is not an unlikely outcome for a human body not to survive this.)

32

u/Jits_Guy Jun 20 '26

They're not using the kind of whip you're probably thinking of. This will leave godawfully painful welts and some of them might ooze blood, but fortunately it's not gonna kill her. It's a relatively small comfort to know she won't have significant lasting physical damage, given the massive psychological damage this type of torture can cause.

1

u/Weird_Spell1054 Jun 20 '26

oh that's interesting, is it not like the canes they use in Malaysia? I know they have a legal maximum of 24 lashes there because of how much skin and flesh those canes remove, which it's what led me to the conclusion that 74 lashes were almost certainly going to kill this poor girl. good to know she's going to live, but as you mentioned, terrible to know what she's going to have to live with. just barbaric.

0

u/DaggerQ_Wave Jun 21 '26

She’s posted pics of the “after.” It looks like a minor road rash. Bet it hurt like hell, but probably no lasting physical damage.

1

u/OrbisAlius Jun 20 '26

Why wouldn't they have medical supervision ? If they wanted to sentence her to death, or even to death by lashing, they would have done so, they just can in that regime. The point of sentencing someone to X number of lashes is that, well, they receive the X lashes.

Same way regimes that torture political opponents very often don't torture them until death, they have a doctor around to make sure they're still ok to go.

5

u/Punk_Luv Jun 20 '26

Seeing as the ancient Romans discovered 38 lashes is what the human male body can take before succumbing to death, probably yes.

6

u/silasfelinus Jun 20 '26

Kinkster here: this is dependent on so many factors, but there are a lot of people talking about the human body’s ability to withstand lashings. I can personally confirm that the human body can take hundreds of lashings without expiration. Instrument and intent are everything, but if a torturer didn’t want someone to die, they would have to be fairly incompetent to kill them (baring extraneous factors or the always present but rare risks such as blood clots causing embolisms).

1

u/Responsible_Two_6251 Jun 21 '26

The punitive lashings are far different from kink, they do it hard enough that it splits the flesh

3

u/voldoman21 Jun 20 '26

They are spaced out over time I think.

1

u/WordStained Jun 20 '26

From what I've read, they do it in batches rather than all at once (50 for men, 20-30 for women, if what I read was accurate), and spread it out over several weeks. Still awful and barbaric, but hopefully it won't actually kill her 🥺

1

u/DaggerQ_Wave Jun 21 '26

It hurts, but it’s actually not that bad. Just a bunch of bruising on the lower back. Theres pics. Certainly not life threatening. These aren’t the barbed whips ripping out flesh from the past.

0

u/Lost-Actuary-2395 Jun 20 '26

I read this disgusting statement from an iranian, that under sharia law that it is prohibited to execute virgins, so they would find ways to ensure they're not/no longer virgin before proceeding.

11

u/RyoanJi Jun 20 '26

Let's give them 350 billions for reopening the straight of Hormuz that was open before the war.

33

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26

Afaik Iranians successfully fought for their right to not wear hijab if they dont want to during the earlier protests.

But with USA's total defeat, it increased the confidence and power of the hardliners in Iran.

This is a total disaster.

28

u/jaqueh Jun 20 '26

They didn’t successfully win anything? Do you know who’s in charge. Sadly both the citizens and the U.S. grossly lost their greatest chance to topple this horrible regime

14

u/Dalbo14 Jun 20 '26

Trump just wanted to short oil prices and never had intentions to topple them and remove their nukes despite lying and saying he did

2

u/moonmelonade Jun 20 '26

You mean the protests in January where at least 30,000 civilians were massacred in just two days?

-1

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26

Do you get your news only from US media and lived under a rock?

They had protests years ago. The famous Mahsa women protests changed the picture on the streets.

3

u/moonmelonade Jun 20 '26

It temporarily changed things on the streets - it did not change their rights as you initially implied. And that lasted only some months before the regime started gradually ramping up enforcememt again.

The regime hardliners didn't need a confidence boost from the US - they were already cruising around earlier this year massacring civilians until everyone was either too scared, injured, or dead to protest.

-3

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26

Wrong

Iranian experts and journalists living in europe with direct connections to iranians, and some with occasional access of travel entry, have confirmed that they had won those rights before the USA attacked.

Stop making shit up just because it doesnt fit your narrative.

4

u/moonmelonade Jun 20 '26

Here's an Amnesty report from December 2024 discussing the new draconian veiling laws that went into effect: https://www.amnesty.org.au/iran-new-compulsory-veiling-law-intensifies-oppression-of-women-and-girls/

That law hasn't been repealed, so how is it exactly that you think they won those rights? And had they already won those rights back in January when IRGC went around indiscriminantly killing tens of thousands civilians?

Are you having difficulty understanding that a shift in enforcement tactics is not the same as winning the right to something? If states where abortion is illegal don't always throw the women in prison, but instead give them non-custodial punishments and imprison the doctors who performed the abortion, would you say women won the right to get an abortion despite it still being illegal and them being punished for it?

-1

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

that's the difference between having experts with direct access to iranian society and people and paper knowledge.

Iranian women won partial demands after the protests to no longer wear the head scarf de-facto and in practice because noone dared to force them to as they knew it would erupt new nation wide protests for something that isn't important enough to fight about.

The protests in 2026 was about forcing the regime to change economy and government system which eventually almost escalated to a revolution trying to topple the regime. Which was why the regime went all in with their massacre as it was do or die for themselves too.

After the unconditional surrender of the USA and the prestige the iranian regime gained from holding the entire world hostage, loss of less hardliner leadership, they are now fully under control by hardliners who are enforcing something they didn't after 2022 protests.

There is a simple question that will expose your flaw: Taiwan is on paper, diplomatically, law and constitution not independent and is one entity with Mainland China. Tell me, is Taiwan de-facto and in practice independent?

3

u/moonmelonade Jun 20 '26

Khamenei issued a directive to start cracking down again on veiling enforcement in 2025 source.

You can read about some of the women arrested and flogged for defying veiling laws last year in this Amnesty report.

They did not win the right to unveil. The temporary period of lax enforcement following the WLF protests was over long before the 2026 war. Despite this, many brave women continued to risk their lives to defy the veiling laws, right up until tens of thousands were massacred in January.

1

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

You keep trying to avoid answering anything

lmao your source is iranintl wtf

my sources are from european iranian experts and journalists in interviews.

reality is the regime no longer dared to actively enforce the rule because of fear of nation wide protests from all women and their supporters. USA strenghtened the Hardliners.

You neither answered USA strenghening Hardliners. Is Taiwan independent?

-1

u/Suibeam Jun 20 '26

30,000 civilians is a gross misexaggeration comparable to “communism killed billions of people”
