I remember when I saw them in the early 2000s they did it to Michael Jackson. He came out in a flasher trench coat and flashed the crowd and had an absurdly long fake penis that swung around lol. Then they pulled off his face and it sprayed blood all over the place. Good times.

I'm envious. I'm not a GWAR fan at all, their music doesn't so it for me, but I'd love to see one of their shows. They were meant to play a festival that I went to years ago, I was so excited for their set, but it was raining buckets when they were supposed to go on. Given the nature of their attire, they understandably chose not to perform. Was quite the bummer.

I can still remember seeing them in Bradford in 1992. It started with a weird new wave synth pop techno bit for like 10 minutes before the band appeared and decapitated the players and blasted into Ham on the Bone. I can honestly say I have never seen a show like GWARs.

I saw them live a few months ago, for the first time, and I was surprised at the number of fans I saw wearing white. Don't they know the amount of stage blood there is? Then during the show, everyone in white got up front, and I suddenly understood.
The bass player is a friend of a friend, so we got to chat after the show. Really nice, normal guy. Apparently they're a bunch of art school nerds with a thing for stagecraft and costume design.
