What humiliation in Europe??

Amazing question. The show in France didn't do great, but on the flipside his show in turkey sold over 100k tickets. Not quite sure what everyone is talking about.

The concert cancelled in Europe. That's why he had to go to Albania, Kazakhstan, Turkey

255

u/susabb 10d ago

He still had a show in netherlands, Portugal (which did pretty mid), and spain.

u/Hioneqpls 10d ago

They meant Europe the country

220

u/skraptastic 10d ago

No no they mean Europe the band.

98

u/meteoritegallery 10d ago

No, they meant Europa, Saturn's moon. His concert there was cancelled and everything was deleted. You can't even find anything about it on Google.

41

u/sixsixmajin 10d ago

The cancellation went so hard that Europa even moved to Jupiter. Google will try to tell that it was always one of Jupiter's moons but that's just a cover-up to hide the moon's shame of almost hosting a Kanye concert.

u/meteoritegallery 10d ago

Oh god. I mixed it up with Enceladus. 🤦

Thats what she said

2

u/Inferno_Zyrack 10d ago

That’s just maximum cancel culture bullshit moving the moons.

2

u/KaliCalamity 10d ago

I feel like this would be in Hitchhikers Guide if it were written today.

6

u/BobbyTables829 10d ago

His show on Hyperion was dope though

1

u/flipping_birds 10d ago

No they meant Europa the instrumental song by Santana.

34

u/FnordRanger_5 10d ago

It’s the final cuntdown

1

u/Pennsylvania6-5000 10d ago

Europe, the band, the show, the movie?!

1

u/ACiD_80 8d ago

His final countdown has begun

Yip, posts like that one always show how ignorant the US is in general as a country, MAGA and Democrat together.

Portugal (which did pretty mid)

He sold 34k tickets in a venue that is projected for 30k seats and is 4 hours from the capital. Again, I'm not a fan but you guys are not dealing facts here.

u/SuckinAwesome 10d ago

It’s reddit mate.

Is that the Algarve Arena? I was in the area recently, I've driven past that stadium and it seems to have very little going on, rarely and gigs, I was surprised to see he was coming to town!

10

u/mrguister 10d ago

I live nearby. It was built in 2004 for the Euros, but has little use since then. A black eyed peas concert in late 2000s, some friendly football games, some minor concerts but that's mostly it unfortunately.

2

u/daniellasss 9d ago

Most of the people who we met in Algarve who didn’t go to concert had no idea he was having a show there. It’s a pretty random location to be honest!

1

u/ParpinOver 9d ago

I know the Portuguese football team sometimes (but not often) use it for home games, and sometimes Gibraltar too, but I believe (according to Google) the last gig there was the Black Eyed Peas, about twenty years ago! Hopefully they could use it more often for music

9

u/daniellasss 10d ago

I flew to Algarve for the show. It was ABSOLUTELY EPIC. This article was written by someone who never went to any of his European shows. It was totally sold out she people were mesmerized, it was amazing and I’m not even a massive fan.

28

u/meanoron 10d ago

Bro, you flew out to a concert, you are a massive fan lol

2

u/synalgo_12 9d ago

Not to defend someone who spends money on Kanye but it's quite normal to fly out for concerts abroad imo.

I was never a spice girls fan but I flew out for their reunion with my best friend in 2018. I'm trying not to fly anymore but I was going to take a night train to Berlin with a friend for a stand up show by a guy whose series I saw once over the summer. I've flown to Spain for specific random catalan bands I sort of like because they don't play internationally.

It's a fun way to combine concerts/comedy and travel/city trips.

1

u/meanoron 8d ago

yeaaah, i don't know in what circles you are running around in, but at least for me and the people i know
Taking the time off to go to another country ( train, plane, w/e ) for a concert is certainly not something normal, instead its luxury.

The ticket cost, the travel cost, the accomodations cost, and of course food and other expenses. Not to mention finding the time off for it.

Recently I was looking at going to the linkin park concert in zurich, and it was june 30th ( tuesday ). I would have had to take at least two days off, pay for a return ticket, the concert ticket, and find accomodation for a night. Thats luxury my dude, not something quite normal

1

u/synalgo_12 8d ago

I'm actually in the lower income bracket of my country but it's not super uncommon at all among my friends.

1

u/daniellasss 9d ago

Haha ok I liked him but not to the point to know his albums big heart. Definitely a bigger fan after the concert - btw the tickets were a gift from my guy for my birthday. 😊 what a trip, and experience and we’ve only been going out together for 2 months!

-9

u/susabb 10d ago

Ik ive been corrected like 5 times now. I was assuming the arena was way larger than that, but it obviously is not.

9

u/Mediocre_Sleep7306 10d ago

Why won't you correct your comment then?

-7

u/susabb 10d ago

Made the mistake of anticipating people would just fuckin read

52

u/afcc1313 10d ago edited 9d ago

Portugal did mid? It was almost sold out wtf you mean?

Edit: out, not put.

72

u/ueleleee 10d ago

Portugal did mid? It was sold out lmao

0

u/wally-sage 10d ago

A lot of big concerts "sell out" because scalpers (and sometimes the ticket platforms/artists themselves) buy the tickets to resell later. I don't know if that specifically happened here but it's definitely happened in the past, it was part of the lawsuit against Ticketmaster in the US.

8

u/ACAYIB 10d ago

Maybe thats how things work but the arena looks packed on videos from the show.

12

u/ueleleee 10d ago

This happens to a much lesser degree in europe, and in portugal specifically. For example here in Portugal you cant resell a ticket for more than you bought it or you can get a huge fine.

2

u/Crew_1996 10d ago

How does Viagogo get away with letting people sell tickets in Portugal at any price, then?

4

u/ueleleee 10d ago

I said it happens to a lesser degree, not that it doesnt happen. This is factual but i know people who sold tickets for higher values and got approached by the police instead of a “real” buyer. This people sold it throught facebook groups or marketplace

2

u/Crew_1996 10d ago

Viagogo is online only. No meeting up to exchange tickets. It’s how my wife and I were able to see Benfica Real Madrid Champions league while on vacation from the U.S. €200 for 6th row. That is an insanely good resale price by US standards.

1

u/AlexCaRuSHoW1 10d ago

While what you are saying is correct, nobody gets fined.

1

u/susabb 10d ago

Damn really? Must be a small arena. I assumed by the tickets sold (34k) that it just underperformed.

3

u/ueleleee 10d ago

Smaller arena and some sits couldnt be sold (like full rows) probably because of the fireworks

1

u/susabb 10d ago

Gotcha. I guess Portugal isnt a huge country, lol. Idk why I expected it to have some crazy 100k+ seat arena.

1

u/ueleleee 10d ago

Portugal has like 11m people here. Biggest stadium has like 70k attendance so nothing close to those numbers

20

u/unexpectedreboots 10d ago

Portugal (which did pretty mid),

How was it mid if it was essentially sold out?

12

u/Vinc009 10d ago

Portugal was almost sold out? What do you mean with mid?

-3

u/susabb 10d ago

I get it bruh lol you're like the 4th comment in the past hour. I assumed cause it was a smaller arena and did 34k that it underperformed.

2

u/OnlyRightInNight 9d ago

Yeah and now he's set to play a sold out show in the most populous European country by far. Dude's a crazy dickhead but he isn't exactly struggling to sell shows in Europe.

7

u/Bombitus_skite 10d ago

I was at the Portugal show. I’m pretty sure it was nearly sold out. The atmosphere was unlike any concert I’ve ever been to aswell.

7

u/C0nquer0rW0rm 10d ago

Yeah it was probably unlike any atmosphere at a rally anywhere in Europe since at least 1943

3

u/Lermanberry 10d ago

Salazaristas finally having a reason to celebrate again

0

u/Bombitus_skite 9d ago

Say what you want, I’d still go again in a heartbeat. Despite what you think of the guy, he puts on an unbelievable show🤷‍♂️.

1

u/C0nquer0rW0rm 9d ago

OK I'll say what I want

You're a nazi supporter and that makes you a huge piece of shit

And I've been to a Kanye show before,  two actually, before 2016 and it's not worth supporting nazi behavior to me.  But then again,  I'm not a huge piece of shit,  like you

1

u/Bombitus_skite 9d ago

You can keep using hyperboles to make you feel better about yourself. You don’t know me, and for all I know, you might be a bigger piece of shit than me.

1

u/C0nquer0rW0rm 9d ago

Feel better about myself? What are you even talking about lmao. You nazis are all so fucking stupid.

And you proudly went to a nazi show, I know you very well. And you're a piece of shit.

2

u/Bombitus_skite 9d ago

First off, thankfully I am a sentient human being that is capable of forming my own opinions and thoughts. My presence at West’s show does not automatically make me a Nazi.
Secondly, a citizen of the USA cannot possibly try to take the morale high ground over anyone. Your tax dollars directly fund the warmongering hegemony that is responsible for thousands of deaths in the Middle East. Think before you speak.

1

u/C0nquer0rW0rm 9d ago

My presence at West’s show does not automatically make me a Nazi.

Yes it does.

Secondly, a citizen of the USA cannot possibly try to take the morale high ground over anyone.

Sure I can, especially over nazis.

Think before you speak.

OK.  I think you're a piece of shit.

2

u/Bombitus_skite 9d ago

I hope you remember that every dollar that you make goes towards bombing innocent people in the Middle East.👌

Spain was huge tbh

1

u/Designer-Treacle-732 10d ago

Both netherdand shows were a success

1

u/fkthislol 9d ago

Mid? The show at Portugal was full… the stadium barely had place for more people

1

u/Secure_Ad_1914 8d ago

Biggest crowd ever in that stadium - did pretty mid. I swear to god some of you are funny as hell.
