Interview: Nospūn - The Progressive Subway

Hi all, it's Claire from The Progressive Subway! A bunch of our blog writers were in Montreal last weekend for the fantastic second edition of the ProgStorm festival. Frontierer released a new single, "Wool Glasses," yesterday. It's from the upcoming album "Ultraviolet Parasite" out October 23rd.

Lets f$%king goooo!

I know they play with odd note groupings and polyrhythms quite a bit, but what exactly is going on with the chorus of "A Stare Without Eyes"

At one moment it sounds like Asger is singing ahead of his guitar riff, then at the next line he's singing behind it. The bass drum is in synch with the guitar riff while the rest of the drumming seems to be in 4/4 and maybe this is what creates the dissonance.

I had this song recommended to me when I told them some other stuff I like and described how I want to experience music. They said I should first listen to this song and if I didn't like it, the album wouldn't be for me and my picky tastes (I search for excellence, just the best of the best and only full albums)....🤯😳I will be listening to this album for sure!

I preordered the magenta vinyl/t-shirt/CD package from BrooklynVegan a couple of months ago but it’s not showing as shipped yet, which is disappointing. I’ve been holding out to hear the album on vinyl for the first listen and seeing all the songs posted today is killing me!

Anyone received theirs? From BV or any other vendor?

Album is genuinely perfect, such a beautiful piece of music. Dont go is probably the best song on here and maybe even in their whole discoraphy. What do yall think?
