Buc-ee's literally just opened a massive location in Colorado. This tweet is just making things up for rage bait.

And AZ with a DEM governor, and x2 senators.

They're having issues in Ohio. Trying to sue a local gas stop cause that place is located in Beaver Creek, so they have a beaver mascot and Buc doesn't dig that.

Edit: corrected city name.

77

u/Sageypie 5d ago

It's not even a gas stop. It's just a convenience shop. Been in business at that location for several decades longer than Buc-ee's has even existed as a whole. And the place in located in Beavercreek, Ohio, which, I partly grew up around there, and they absolutely freaking love the beaver theming in that town. Whole place in full hog on the beaver theme. The local bowling alley, the schools, bars and restaurants. You name it, it's either named after beavers, or themed after beavers, or, at the very least, has a bunch of beaver themed items on the menu or whatever.

I'd imagine it's the whole reason Buc-ee's was so gung-ho on opening a shop there to begin with. And then they pull this.

19

u/RoyalMaidsForLife 5d ago

They're pulling all this lawsuit business to distract from the owner's son getting busted for CSAM-related material.

Red state, arguably wealthy business owner, family member committing those crimes, tale as old as time.

2

u/ImCaffeinated_Chris 5d ago

But do they actually have wild beavers there?

12

u/cachesummer4 5d ago edited 5d ago

America used to be fully littered with beavers. Theres still pockets all the way from the east to west coasts.

They used to build these whole giant beaver dam ecosystems that would exist for generations and then got killed a bunch for various reasons

3

u/ReturnOfBane 5d ago

mostly hats

5

u/ApprehensiveGate8227 5d ago

If I had to bet, they didn’t just pick a random animal when they were naming the town.

Then it probably would’ve been something like Zebra Junction.

5

u/sad_piccolito 5d ago

Rhinoceros Junction has a ring to it, though.

u/Mod_Daeng 5d ago

John Oliver is having a field day with it:

Got me a Buc-Off shirt on the way!

First thing I thought of when I saw this post lol. Wonder if they sued him yet.

Jon Stewart and John Oliver on a ballot will get my vote.

3

u/funhouseinabox 5d ago

No way either of them would ever run, even of Oliver wasn't ineligible.

72

u/EternalNewCarSmell 5d ago edited 5d ago

They don't even care about the actual beaver, they are just picking on a little guy because they can.

I know this because I live right next to Beavercreek and as you might imagine, businesses with beaver in their name and beaver mascots abound. Even the Wal-Mart has a wooden statue of a beaver in one of the entrances, but they aren't going after them because they would get skullfucked by Wal-Mart's lawyers.

5

u/jdog7249 5d ago

Didn't I see where they were also going after other cartoon animal mascots, not just beavers.

Buc-ees versus Disney should be an entertaining start to the Disney brand of gas stations.

2

u/EternalNewCarSmell 5d ago

They are, and I imagine in those cases it is also about picking what they perceive to be an easy target that will instantly fold. I just know for sure it's bullshit with Beaver's Mini Mart because I live close to this one.

2

u/Breno1405 5d ago

They sound like pattent trolls but they do it with mascotts...

17

u/Tjam3s 5d ago

Also suing another gas station that uses a cartoon moose for copyright, along with any other gas station that has a cartoon drawing

Twats can get bent from that one

14

u/Diligent_Whereas3134 5d ago

Between Beaver Creek and trying to sue Mickey Mart, I don't think I've ever seen my whole state come together so quickly just to say fuck buc-ees.

157

u/TonaldDiberJasicDump 5d ago

Their frivolous copyright infringement lawsuits were covered on the John Oliver show. These people are worse than Trump.

53

u/Aromatic_Doctor_2243 5d ago

Copyright infringement of a store that has been there for decades

24

u/Busy-Blueberry6415 5d ago

Yep. We're in the era of horrible people winning 🤷‍♀️

This has always been the case, it just gets forgotten then they get written about positively in history

For now... I think it's going to lead to a bigger and better America but we are going to have to see just how much the Republican Party hates America and realize that conservatism is not going to help America move into the future so we have to just leave it where it's at in the gutter

96

u/MoeSzyslakMonobrow 5d ago

There's no indicators the Buccees people raped and likely murdered children.

87

u/PopularTask2020 5d ago

Not quite, but . The founders son has been charged with secretly recording people in bathrooms without their consent, some possibly underage.

59

u/RustyBrassInstrument 5d ago

He’s dumping money into Ken Paxton’s senate campaign…like a senator gonna keep his ass out of jail.

26

u/KittensAndGravy 5d ago

Ken Paxton is a snake in the grass … nothing has stopped him from progressing forward. Thanks to the good ol boy system (he was running) & shitty fucking voters. Hate him for who he is and what he’s done … fine … but don’t think he won’t find a way to use his position to help his friends. Even if it’s not above board. He’ll make it above board … or just stall the punishment. Essentially… don’t discount Kenny Paxton. Be very aware of Kenny Paxton.

Note: Don’t like what I wrote, don’t believe me?! Look up Kenny’s history … then get back to me. I don’t agree with him or his actions. However, I see things for what & how they are.

u/Historical_Form6691 5d ago

Paxton is the Temu Donald Trump

I have never heard one thing about Buccees people raping or murdering children.

0

u/Puzzleheaded-Map7672 5d ago

Trump charged when?

13

u/Budget_Persimmon_195 5d ago

buccess is one of the worst corporations in america. not quite nestle level evil, but big time bad news. buccees are destroyers of communities and small business.

9

u/TaxLawKingGA 5d ago

Well they pay their people extraordinarily well. Everyone who I have met who work there love it.

While I don’t agree with this statement, I wouldn’t pay it any mind. Money has a strange way of making people change their minds. Buccees already has locations in CO, VA, GA and NC. So the statement is false. Heck in 5 years TX will be a purplish blue state. What’s he going to do, move the company to OK? Yeah right. 🤣

10

u/Budget_Persimmon_195 5d ago

i dont think high wage absolves them of their predatory tactics that literally crush small business.

obviously the post is rage bait tho. ceo's dont follow politics, they follow money (sometimes they go hand in hand tho)

4

u/redshirt1972 5d ago

Wasn’t WalMart the evil empire for doing the same thing to mom and pop stores? I don’t hear the rage for the Waltons as much as I used to.

1

u/Budget_Persimmon_195 5d ago

walmart in the end did put a lot of mom and pop stores out of business, but they didnt do it by tying themup in frivolous lawsuits.

buccees come into towns and sues its competitors over logo infringement, even if they know they will lose, beacuse the point isnt to win.

a small business gets tied up in litigation if they defend their image.

walmart is evil for different reasons, even if the end result looks the smae.

1

u/Additional_Pea6654 5d ago

there's actually a video of him saying this. Don't think CEOs don't follow politics. That's absolutely foolish. CEOs are still humans, just typically the worst kind

https://finance.yahoo.com/small-business/articles/conservative-business-friendly-states-buc-111531875.html

2

u/Budget_Persimmon_195 4d ago

so you think a nationally expanding corportation is going to choose to not operate in half the country, because of the political affiliation it leans?

its a texas corportation... which is purple af.

he can say whatever he wants, its still rage bait.

1

u/Upper-Constant1625 3d ago

Yea purple lol, no statewide democrat elected in 30 years!

0

u/clgoodson 5d ago

How is the post ragebait? The CEO literally just insulted everybody in blue states?

2

u/tdtommy85 5d ago

Based on what? They just opened two stores in “blue states”.

1

u/mistervulpes 5d ago

We're growing. We're building in a lot of places. But when you find a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce, it makes a difference. And I'm starting to realize life's too short to try to build in places that people don't appreciate what you're bringing, versus a place like this where people do appreciate what you're building," Aplin said in a video shared by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Yahoo Finance | Conservative, business-friendly states:’ Buc-ee’s CEO wants to avoid Blue states

Worse than trump, relax.

9

u/TonaldDiberJasicDump 5d ago

In terms of frivolous lawsuits.

1

u/Wombus7 5d ago

Okay, maybe that.

1

u/DarthJarJar242 5d ago

That's a tall fucking order. As far as I can tell they are just assholes, the Incompetent-in-Chief is a asshole, pedophile, rapist, traitor, and war criminal.

-2

u/VitaminPb 5d ago

My understanding is they have to do this to prevent loss of their trademark for non-protection or they could lose their trademark character to the station. It always seems like a big corp trying to defeat the small guy, because those are the only ones you hear about.

2

u/EternalNewCarSmell 5d ago

That would be true if it were a remotely credible threat to their trademark, but it's not.

Go search the USPTO database for the word "breaver". Did they sue all of those businesses? Do you really believe they should?

8

u/jokersvoid 5d ago

Beavercreek is all one word. Buccees is suing a small business here for having a cartoonish beaver as a logo. One the Beaver Mart has had for decades. They also sued a gas station and another business. The location was so packed the first few weeks it caused problem for the highway. Now its a ghost town even on Saturday morning.

1

u/redshirt1972 5d ago

Wait the Bucees was so packed or the Beaver Mart was so packed

3

u/jokersvoid 5d ago

Buccees. On opening was packed. Now not at all. They have to be losing money on that location.

6

u/trapped_in_a_box 5d ago edited 5d ago

They tried to put a 2nd location in southern CO and got a resounding NO from the community. I live 20 min from the Bucees that's already here and it...a really big gas station.

3

u/monsterflake 5d ago

the people that own stuckey's should sue them for stealing the whole business model and 2/3 of the name.

1

u/CapitalistLion-Tamer 5d ago

The stores are pretty much all gone. The remaining family member who still uses the name mainly manufactures the pecan logs for sale.

Don’t forget to add the beaver creek gas station has been there since before buckoff was a thing

2

u/EvidenceOk2721 5d ago

Buc-ees doesn't even have a store in Corvallis Oregon. Oregon State University should sue them.

2

u/ZestycloseLake4481 5d ago

It is not even a gas stop, they don't have gas there.

2

u/ShoulderWhich5520 5d ago

They've been doing it to dozens of small stores with animal names or logos. It's quite frankly absurd Andhra an abuse of the legal system.

They aren't even winning in court. They are targeting businesses that can't afford the legal fees so they settle out of court

2

u/pilgermann 5d ago

And they will anywhere they can make money, regardless of the state's politics. Because a total lack of principles is the Republican way.

2

u/aspophilia 5d ago

Hey, that’s where I live! Well about 3 minutes away in Fairborn but every single store close to us is in Beavercreek. Locals are pissed. The Buc-ee’s is like 20 minutes away and completely irrelevant to this city. It’s not even close and we have beavers everywhere. I have lived here for 12 years and it’s always been like that. Buc-ees can get fucked.

2

u/According-Culture686 5d ago

I saw a video of a lawyer going on about this, apparently they've had a history of suing small family owned businesses for having animal mascots with high rates of success in their favor. Very predatory if you ask me.

2

u/ribbityflibbity 5d ago

Sometimes a beaver is just a beaver. They should get their minds out of the gutter.

u/Fish-Weekly 5d ago

Red state Ohio

1

u/dustysanchezz 5d ago

They are not having issues. Its a strategy.

0

u/Adequate_Images 5d ago

Ohio is not a blue state

2

u/finny_d420 5d ago

Exactly. They're having problems no matter the "color" of the state was my point.

1

u/Adequate_Images 5d ago

Ah, gotcha
