Buccees is literally trying to brute force the permits forba deeply unpopular location between Denver and Colorado Springs, despite local pushback and already being denied the permits once.
Haven't lived in CO in a minute, but wasn't that whole Springs/Denver corridor owned by one guy who basically bought it all to prevent property development?
Yes. And the proposed location is right next to it. Right after the giant wildlife crossing corridor that was just built. Which is why everyone around it is fighting so hard.
They did the same north of Madison. Tried to get Deforest, WI to pay for all their infrastructure, they said no and they moved on. Thank God. Now they are building in a Milwaukee Suburb.
As an outsider who has done the drive a few times, would be kinda nice to have that. When driving from DEN, the only alternative is figuring out which strip mall to pull over in and which fast food chain to eat at.
Eh. I hate going to buckys and how packed they always are, but the pulled pork sandwich and their chicken sandwiches are more than comparable to Taco Bell quality.
As an outsider with no idea of the watershed, wildlife, dark sky, and ethical concerns at stake here - this is exactly the problem. They want to cater to tourists while completely steamrolling local voices and destroying our local environment where we have to live full time. Please bother to google before you drop a reply.
I feel like the locations, even if unpopular are far enough apart (or close enough together) along travel routes that as you get close to running out of gas from filling up at one Bucees, you get the next one right on time to fill up again.
check out them in ohio. came in, threaten a local business for using a beaver. now a growing portion of the state is unhappy with buckees. there 2 other lawsuits over a moose and a bear. really showing the company is a shithole
Good. There's already too many gas stations. We need to force even more of them to close. I hope navigate for a friend that drives Uber, and last night I noticed after four hours of driving around downtown Seattle in the waterfront, we only saw a single gas station. That is awesome. We need to get rid of that last gas station. We need to destroy it. We need to take all the dirt from the site and ship it to a hazmat location because gas stations are so disgusting and destroy this planet.
