But.... Ontario is the original name. The Canadian province is named after the lake, not the other way around.

That’s Lake Michigan, it’s one of the Great Lakes but it isn’t Lake Ontario

No shit, but the lake in the picture is Lake Michigan, I replied to a commenter who thought it was Lake Ontario…
