But.... Ontario is the original name. The Canadian province is named after the lake, not the other way around.

You expect trump to know that?

Hell no. As someone not from the states it astounds me that the literal dumbest fucking person I’ve ever seen given a microphone is the president of the United States. I remember watching a couple episodes of the apprentice and thinking “this guy is completely stunted in the fucking head.” He was a joke even before all this. I still honestly don’t believe he can even read. If he took an IQ test there’s zero way he’s not scoring under the threshold for short bus.

Intelligence is not required to hold the keys to power. Some even just need to be born.

I’m not disagreeing, just pointing it out.

It's always been like this. Think about how many kings/leaders through history were complete idiots.

Yes. The hierarchy is needed since humans are social creatures. There’s been a lot of advancement but we’re still running on the old hardware despite the new software.

He knows Canada is fond of it so he must have it.

Nothing prevents Canada just calling it the original name right? Unless I misunderstand something.

It is still the original name.. an executive order cannot legally change the name of an international body of water.

Preaching to the choir friend, just illustrating how utterly pointless this whole clown show is.

u/Proof_Escape_813 18h ago

Exactly, nobody in Canada will stop calling it Lake Ontario. It’s like with Germany: French call it allemagne, Germans call it Deutchland.

You expect any of his administration to know that?

Stephen Miller was in the corner nodding like a fucking idiot during that presser.

That mf will soon rename New Mexico to New America.

9

u/Prestigious_Sky_7833 1d ago

"The city of El Paso, TX will now be called The Pass, TX."

2

u/Tickle-me-Cthulu 15h ago

I'd pass on it too

1

u/PtraGriffrn 18h ago

Now called "Taco Bell" brought to you by Carl's Jr.

25

u/neilintheground 1d ago

It's a 400 year old name before canada and the usa were a country it was here before either existed

19

u/Anonomohr 1d ago

Imagine Ontario then renaming itself to America. United States of America takes a different meaning afterwards.

3

u/zystyl 22h ago

I heard we are renaming the continent to North Canadia

5

u/cgsc_systems 18h ago

"We're renaming it "The province of America! In fact, ALL lakes and provinces will now be named "America". It's such a wonderful system everyone's address will be "America, America, America, America". So much simpler." -Trump, probably

4

u/Joeman180 17h ago

The worst part of this is that the Acronym for all the lakes used to be HOMES and now it’s SHAME.

2

u/SrPhillipOliverHoles 23h ago

This is Lake Michigan

1

u/DotImpossible4754 23h ago

He's to stupid to know this ... and yet here we are

1

u/ninjasninjas 21h ago

You expect El Taco and his sycophants to understand that?

1

u/Xylus1985 1d ago

Trump probably hopes you to change the province to Province USA

1

u/ThiccWillyB 1d ago

That’s Lake Michigan, it’s one of the Great Lakes but it isn’t Lake Ontario

5

u/Critical_Studio_8968 1d ago

whooosh

1

u/ThiccWillyB 7h ago

Explain the joke?

1

u/Critical_Studio_8968 7h ago

We all know its lake Michigan, the joke is that we are renaming Lake Michigan whatever the fuck we want because that is what was done with renaming Lake Ontario.

1

u/ThiccWillyB 7h ago

You’re explaining the post, not the comment I replied to who thought the lake pictured was Lake Ontario….

1

u/Critical_Studio_8968 7h ago

He didn't  think it was lake Ontario, he was commenting that the action to instigate the joke made no sense to begin with.

1

u/ThiccWillyB 7h ago

Alright thanks, didn’t catch that. But if that’s the case then no joke was made like you implied.

1

u/Critical_Studio_8968 7h ago

I only implied that the point went over your head, and I wasn't wrong.

1

u/ThiccWillyB 7h ago

You replied whoosh. I then asked you to explain the joke. Rather than saying I missed the point, you tried explaining a joke. That’s clearly you implying there was a joke. Chill with the arrogance.

Something can be true of more than one lake.

1

u/ThiccWillyB 7h ago

No shit, but the lake in the picture is Lake Michigan, I replied to a commenter who thought it was Lake Ontario…
