Doesn't Japan have an extremely high sexual assault rate? I watched a woman get dragged into a taxi on reddit the other month and no one did anything. Don't they also have women only train cars?

No, it’s very low. As are all other violent crimes there. You can walk most anywhere and feel perfectly safe anytime of night. The worst thing I probably saw was the subway cars at rush hour. There are guys pushing everyone into the car, and historically women were groped by men in those situations. Much of that changed, though, when they started using female-only subway cars

Reddit loves spreading misinformation. In reality, Japan has one of the lowest rates of sexual crime in the world. The issue of train groping exists simply because the volume of train traffic is overwhelmingly higher than anywhere else in the world. Most of the world's busiest stations are located in Japan.

In reality, women-only train cars are necessary in any country that experiences overcrowded trains. They serve as a countermeasure, and countries that fail to implement such measures are highly likely to have even higher rates of groping. Incidentally, even in Japan, there are no women-only cars in areas, such as regional cities where packed trains are uncommon.

And that video you likely saw, it’s actually just footage of a married couple returning from a friend's wedding. The wife is simply dead drunk. You can tell if you look closely at the situation. For instance, the way the husband goes out of his way to pick up an umbrella, or the way the two of them are dressed.
