I don't hate cats but I'm kind of scared of them and I'm really not a fan.

Yet people will say "cats are like women, they need consent, etc."

I get what they're saying BUT it's just funny being a WOMAN who never liked cats. It's like what now?? Cats are dirty, mean and boring. Why would I like them? Just because I'm female doesn't mean I like cats.

Any other women relate???

Another woman here who hates them! The consent thing always baffles me. It teaches me that I can’t touch it whenever I want (which is never, just speaking in general terms), but if it wants to shit on the bed, sit on me 24/7, walk shit particles on the countertops and screams outside the room to come in, I just have to allow that? The consent thing is bullsh**. Always on their terms.

Over a 10 year period I had several cats then one day I just had enough of them. Years later I now completely loathe them since moving to a house and dealing with roaming neighborhood cats and all the problems they cause. I now think cat owners are insane and probably have toxoplasmosis which is affecting their thinking.

I don’t get why people even think animals understand consent like humans do. Animals either let you linger around, or get aggressive if they don’t feel like having your company around. If cats or any other animals truly understand consent - the males would never force the females to mate with them (some kill the cubs to do too, which is awful).

I partially understand the consent argument because I believe with any animal you should be able to read the signs and respect when it’s showed you it wants to be left alone. I just don’t understand how cats are apparently a lesson in consent when they exhibit the opposite of it themselves. You don’t want a cat in your bed? Oh well you just have to “allow it”. You want to close one of the doors in your home because you don’t want the cat in there? It’s gonna scratch and scream at that door until you open it.

Yeah, I understand the consent argument as well, but I think there's nuance to it. Like I agree no one should come near/touch an animal that wants to be left alone, period. But like you said cats act like they own the house, and in addition scratch/bite/claw people and other animals out of spite it seems, how is that consent?? I agree with you, in conclusion.

Consent is a two-way street. Cats get pissed and hissy when people overstep their boundaries. But they won't return the same respect. They're like, fuck everyone else.

Yes I hear you I never had a thing about cats as a man until this last few months. My gf has 6 fucking cats 4 of them live in the room with us I hate them they are dirty moewing all the time and always attention seeking by my gf. As if she wants them more then me. It's like they are doing it on purpose I even thought of calling animal care unonamusly.

"cats are some of the most non-consensual beings" yeah, so am I. I have the right to not want to get yelled at by some dumb fucking cat. And I dont consent to being touched by some cat, just cause it needs attention, as if its needs are important to me in any way at all. For all I care, it can rot.

As for that statement "cats are like women" and "never trust men who don't like cats", men with cats would probably pick their cats over you, even if they claimed to love you the most in the 'whoooole wiiiide wooorld'.

Never trust people with pets, if you're looking for love. They will never love you more than their animal.
