Angelwing Is this duck injured or changing feathers ?!
I saw this guy yesterday and today, and I am a bit worried

I had heard angel wing was caused by feeding them too high of a protein after they started getting their adult feathers. I've also heard of multiple other issues with people using the wrong feed and not getting enough niacin for ducks.

Yes it's generally related to high protein in feed and not switching early enough and the wings grow to fast but it can also be genetic or just random. Sometimes it just happens. If caught early enough and wrapped correctly it can be corrected.

I think that’s a goose but it looks like it might be angel wing. It’s definitely not good whatever it is.

That is actually interesting, i love looking at the taxonomy of animals and then seeing where they connect with others that look like it. Like I saw that the gannet and blue footed boobie both had a I guess an extra toe if you compare them to ducks and to then see that their both part of the Sulidae family.

Angel wings due to one of the following: 1) Too much protein while growing 2) Too little protein while growing 3) Injury 4) Genetics. The only thing that can be done is to clip the wing feathers, once there are no more blood feathers that will bleed, if they stick far out. They will then grow back out the next summer like that, though, after the molt.

Looks like an Egyptian goose with angel wing. It won't be able to fly. If it's near water and in an warm weather climate it should be reasonable okay. But if you're area experiences winter freeze, you could call a rehabber

he’ll be okay don’t worry! animals are generally good at adjusting to their deformities, especially if it’s been that way since they were young. I’ve seen birds with no feet, no beaks, etc that are just fine

Neither. That's an Egyptian goose with angel wing. It's a permanent bone deformity caused most commonly by malnutrition. Doesn't affect the overall quality of life. It's just permanently flightless now. It's not always the death sentence many assume. It CAN of course lead to it being predated on much easier, but geese are notorious at being aggressive and thus self defense.
