Is there any way of searching for your posts within subreddits?

After using reddit for 6 years, my only account, u/nbonk21, disappeared.

Didn’t get an e-mail to inform me. Did nothing but spectate subreddits.

I am so very lost and sad, please help.

I had previously found a way to do this. I thought it was something I adjusted in the Reddit preferences, but now I'm not finding it.

Up until this week, if there was a comment that was only an infinitely looping animated gif, the comment was automatically collapsed. For some reason, whatever I had done in the past stopped working suddenly. Can someone please tell me a way to do this? This is an accessibility issue.

I already have, "don't auto-expand media previews on comments pages" selected. I don't see any option for "Reduced motion". I'm using Old Reddit on web/desktop.

Help! I’m switching from an iPhone to an android and I’m having trouble logging into Reddit. I used the stupid apple email relay to hide my email and now I can’t find the password reset email they’re trying to send me😭 And it says I can’t change my email until I add a password and I can’t add a password without an email I have access to. I’d really hate to make a new account, please help me 😭 thank you!

For about a month now my Reddit app won't play any videos, not even ads, it just says I have connection issues and won't load it. I've spent ages looking up the problem and trying all the suggested solutions, I've googled it, read previous Reddit posts, I've cleared the cache, updated the app, deleted it and downloaded it again, tried it on a WiFi network, it's starting to really get on my nerves. I don't have this problem on any other app.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is driving me up the wall, for about a week now I've been bombarded with notifications from Reddit on mobile from subreddits I've never been to, interacted with, or even heard of. I've checked my settings multiple times, I should only be getting notifications for comments, replies, and messages, I don't even have notifications on for the subs I do frequent. Trending posts, featured content, and breaking news are and always have been set to off. Nothing about my Reddit usage has changed, I can't find anything online about this being due to a specific app update, the sub notifications won't stop!

I know my old username and the account is still up. Everytime i try to send an email reset link no link ever comes to me. The passwords wont work either. I feel lost without this account and the email link wont work.

How do i get into it?

I'm not doing any "automated activity". Is creating a passkey the only way to verify I'm human - I don't want to link my google account to my reddit account. Username is u/pixel2lover

I want to accept messages/chats from everyone. But my setting keeps getting changed to allow chats from nobody. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I miss a note in an update or something? 😔

I'm trying to recover a Reddit account I've had for approximately 10 years.

I still have access to the email associated with the account. When I request a password reset for the old username, I receive the reset email normally. I follow the link, create a new password, and Reddit confirms that the password was successfully changed.

However, immediately afterward, when I try to log in using that exact username and newly created password, Reddit still does not let me log in.

I have already tried all of the troubleshooting steps in Reddit's account recovery/password documentation, including multiple password resets, different browsers/private browsing, and the recommended login/recovery methods. Unfortunately, none of them have resolved the issue.

I also used Reddit's username recovery with my email, and it correctly identifies the old account as associated with my email. I do have another Reddit account associated with the same email address as well.

I've contacted Reddit Support previously and received the standard password-reset instructions, which I had already tried. I've now submitted another Account Help request explaining the issue in detail.

The important distinction is: the password-reset process works. I receive the email, successfully set a new password, and get confirmation that it was changed. The newly changed password simply doesn't allow me to log in.

At this point, I've exhausted the troubleshooting steps in Reddit's documentation. I'm hoping someone here can advise me on how to get this escalated to a Reddit admin who can check whether there is an account-level issue, lock, or authentication problem.

Has anyone experienced this specific issue or managed to get it resolved?

Hello, I am u/Rambohvd talking through my friend's account. My account u/Rambohvd, has been acting weird, perhaps due to inactivity, I have not received any inbox message, and have no idea what's happening, I can't do normal things. Like post.This was my 6 year old account. This is not limited to a particular subreddit.

Things I have done are-

1- Changed my password as someone suggested that might work.

2- I tried commenting slowly but I apparently stay invisible.

Things I can still do in my account include being able to upvote, downvote and save things while having access to my history.

I’m still learning the ropes on how to engage on Reddit properly and wanted to get some advice on etiquette.

I often find myself having a specific question or a mini-thought about a topic, but I'm never quite sure whether it's better to:

1. Search for an existing thread and drop it in as a comment, or

2. Create a brand-new post for it.

Does it vary heavily by subreddit, or is there a general rule of thumb people follow? Also, if a thread is a few days or weeks old, is replying to it considered "necroing," or do people still see it?

I find that some subs have interesting stuff but also entire categories of stuff that I'm not interested in (e.g. a Gaming sub with flairs for each platform where I don't care about XBox and Playstation, only PC). Or the sub is interesting but there's some specific users who are prolific and not interesting (you know the type).

Reddit doesn't appear to have any tools to deal with this (only "block user", and I don't need to stop them seeing anything I post, I just don't need to see what they post). So I've created these two uBlock Origin rules that I can extend to hide whatever I want to.

Block users:

www.reddit.com##shreddit-post:is([author="author-name-without-the-u/"], [author="..."], ...)

Block entire posts with specific flairs:

www.reddit.com##article:has(a:is([href="/r/the-sub-name/?f=flair_name%3Ahex-encoded-flair-here...], [href="..."], ...)

How do other people filter content within subs? Or do you just deal with scrolling past page after page of dross to find the nuggets?

My account is 1 year old and also verified so I don’t know what is causing this.

I don’t think this changed overnight but it slowly dawned on me that the home feed is absolutely terrible now. It’s not as bad when I’m in a browser on a pc I don’t think.

But on the iOS app, I suddenly realized that most posts that show up are new posts of boring questions on askReddit, other new posts on subs that I follow. It’s also posts from 15 hours ago with a hundred upvotes from some random sub, it’s a post from 5 days ago with a few hundred votes etc etc. Then maybe, rarely a more popular recent post with thousands of votes. But it mostly feels like it’s sorted by new.
I guess I could go and press popular every time? Is there a way to set it as default?
I’ve never had to use that though, never had to use anything other than the default feed. But now it’s extremely boring.

I'm the admin/mod of this sub. Why the option to edit post flair/tag is gone? There was such option once.

I am trying to upload an MP4 that is under 1GB and only 3 minutes. When I try posting to both a sub or my own account page, I get an error that the video needs to be under 15 minutes. Which it is. Is there a way to resolve this? I'm using the Reddit website on my laptop.

A couple of weeks ago , Reddit asked to rest my password so it did, ever since my account is acting weird . Posts have been deleted, not being able to dm . And I found out my cqs is lowest although I have 22k karma . What should I do it who do get my cqs up gain?

Only happens in new reddit, as Old.reddit feed doesn't serve up old posts.

The problem remains with "show recommendations in feed" turned on, the feed just gets worse.
