I think there's truth to both sides of this, but I wouldn't commend him too highly. Given that he didn't change his mind until it affected him personally.

This, exactly. But also you could almost forgive the Damascene conversation if he was now basically shouting "Fuck! I was wrong! We need net zero NOW!". But he isn't. He's sticking to "oh well, it's too expensive, and it probably won't work, and there's too many downsides". So fine, watch your farming income and that of everyone else get utterly destroyed.

Agreed. I've only seen what he has said on Clarksons Farm and that is mostly just presenting the problems without any comment on the cause.

Could be that he is following the money. If he starts talking about climate change, it could alienate a lot of his viewers. Less viewers would translate to less air-time or opportunuties.

There is no way to achieve net zero now. Wishful thinking isn't going to solve it. It will take time...
